Last week I was going through reptibid looking at anoles......I noticed a guy selling brown anoles out of florida. I looked at the questions/answers post part of the auction and noticed immediately that he was slow in responding to other people's ?'s. I watched the auction over a few days to see how it progressed. The 3rd day I noticed that he finally replied and one of the replies was (almost a quote), " I am tired of calculating shipping if you want to know what it is to your area here is my zip code do it yourself." My eyebrows raised and I thought, hmmmm a little harsh. The next day someone else must have thought it too and told him in no uncertain terms that he had a bad attitude and that if he was going to be around the herp community he was going to have to take a little more time with people and that he might want to tone down his attitude a little. Well the auction closed and I did not even bid on it......Two days later A guy emails me and asks me to take over the auction for him citing family problems(he had won the auction). I agreed, only to help him out, even though I had bad feelings in the beginning. Over the last four days I have tried to work out the details with the seller. I emailed him telling him that the guy had asked me to take over and waited for two days to get a ONE SENTENCE reply. Now mind you that the total of the sale was miniscule compared to what I and others spend on our herps, but his reply was "yea the total is $20 dollars." I replied asking him if he was still holding the original animals from the auction or if he was going to catch more when I sent him the money as well as confirming the total because from what the other guy said the total he gave me did not include shipping. Two days later I get another one sentence reply,"Yea 20 but not including shipping." still not asnswering my ?"s. I pressed a little harder in the next email to get my ?'s answered and he sends me," i really dont need your money, its a measly 20 bucks. if your going to be a smart ass, i dont need you." I was blown away because I was just trying to help someone out so that they could keep their good name. Well needless to say I blasted him in the next email and said some things that I would probably take warning points for here, so I won't post it at this time. Moral of the story is beware of JAMES WOLLITZ. He did not get any of my money, but I have been around the block a couple of times and can see bad things on his horizon. He has a lot of lesson's to learn yet. If you deal with him proceed with caution.

I don't want to jump to conclusions but something does not seem right with all that.

We just did a trade. My Dumeril's female for three breeding rat snakes (1.2). I couldn't ask for a better transaction. He was polite and answered all questions with haste and professionalism. One female is gravid and the others are in top notch health. I would deal with him again in a heartbeat.

That you..as a brand new fauna member...knew to follow the rules of posting by adding your positive experience to this existing thread without creating a new one. I've never seen this happen before. Normally all bona fide newbies to the BOI make that simple mistake and start a new one.

I have had a transaction with james also. I sold him a boa and he kept in constant contact with me. He did everything that he said he would do. He took a little while to pay but he always emailed me back very quickly.

I read your posts, and I guess there was a need to open a thread to warn people that this guy is really unpleasant on anole deals, and:

You might be cautious and look for the conspicuous white and red "no tresspassing, no hunting signs" posted along my property lines to the trunks of trees. I would hate to mistake your friendly visit as you being a prowler since I've never met you before. That mistake plus my bad eyesight would probably have you leaving my property in the back of an ambulance.

I don't mind you sidetracking my questions because you know what I'm up to, But DON'T EVER make veiled threats at me again.

First off I find it curious that these two guys show up out of the blue and post on a thread that I started with out first inquring about James. I would like to know how they found out about this thread.....I would venture to guess that they were told about this thread by JAMES and that they were sent here to try to scrape up his rep off the floor and make him look a little better.
Second I would like to say that this thread is about MY experience with James. I gave him the link to the thread the MINUTE I posted it. He had a chance to come here and defend himself. Instead I see that two people are here defending him, but still no James. More than a month later I must add. That said I would also like to say that Sir James THREATENED David even to the point of saying that he worked at the Jacksonville, Fla P.D.

But so that everyon can see my experience in detail.....here are the Emails that I have saved:

I do appreciate everything you have done, I seem to be looking to be the bad guy on fauna. But if they knew the whole story I believe they would understand. I tried hard to get James Anoles sold and you picked up my problem. I don't know what his is.

I,m not really a novice, I own 12 Cornsnakes, 4 Green Basilisk lizards, 4 Sanfire Beardies,1 Columbian Boa and a Ball Python. I have 18 Basilisk eggs in incubator now. And a lot of them were bought online, I can give several good references of my online purchases.
To meet a fool like James is a real let down in the Herp community. But to meet another one like you, that is just a reversal is a great sign, and to offer help again after this is great.
By the way it really wasn't money that was short, it was time, I have to have someone else care for my animals at this time. I had a Pacemaker implanted on the 17th and must not over do it right now. Again Thank You very much from the bottom of my heart(LOL)!

I'm the "guy" who had the problems with James, and got Brian involved. The auction ended on 6-14-05, I contacted him immediately to make arrangements to ship and pay.--How much will the shipping be for the group of anoles ( #1118798122 (HUGE BREEDER LOT!!! N/R)? Will pay with PayPal.
2 days later I get this e-mail--hi, you won my action of anoles, i accept money order or personal check. please get back to me asap. thank you. I replied--

Some family trouble came up and I cannot care for the Anoles at this time. However I have made arrangements with another person that will take them at same price. To be shipped to zip 3xx67, checked FedEx Priority Overnight from 3xx07 to 3xx67 is less than $30 . If this agreeable to you please let me know, and I will contact the other person and get you together. I know this an inconvenience but I just can't take on the responsibility at this time, I hope you understand.

This is the chain of events that led to all the problems. I believe that I was responsive and prompt, and that Brian also tried very hard to deal with James.
What caused James to get so upset is beyond me, but it got very ugly after that.
I never posted his address anywhere but in e-mails to him to try to get him to verify a mailing address, which I got out of his ad.

All James had was negative feedback on the web site-- for buying but not paying.

Maybe this will help understand.

I did not mean to sound like I was defending James. I have been a lurker here for about 4 months or so. I agree that the way he treated you was pretty bad business. I was only stating my experience with James because I am a little surprised that he would act this way. Sorry if you think I hijacked your thread. You can see that I have posted the same stuff on reptibid that I have posted here.

Also just to let you know, a few others have had problems with James as well. I know that they have talked to his mother and really did not get anywhere with her. I know he is a kid but I am not sure how old. I read all of the emails and he is really making an ass out of himself. There are a couple of threads about james on the feedback forum on reptibid.

dangit I hate it when my post dissapears b4 I get a chance to post it!
Anyway, no sweat guys I was just warning people about him because of my situation involving David. For the record I find David a straight up guy and we tried really hard to work this deal out with James. When it came down to it, it turned into a "principle" issue and I learned in the past that sometimes fighting for your principles can end up hurting you. When I received the email from James telling me that he did not need my $ I sorta blew a gasket on him, it is not something that I regret but it is something I am not proud of......He sorta "provoked" me, LOL.
Anyway I am not upset at your good guy post I am surprised that he actually completed a transaction! Maybe he did learn a lesson from dealing with David and I, maybe we will never know how much we helped him "grow up" a little and be a man........I guess time will tell if he is going to be kind to his fellow man/woman.
