• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Jason Kiper-what a pleasant experience

Ya know.... I've been wanting to get this out for a long time! I guess this is the perfect thread to do it in, because it concerns the temperature outside!
As far as I'm concerned.... If I inquire about buying any animal from any body, and they tell me to pay them, but they can't ship because it's either too hot or too cold.... I WILL CANCEL MY ORDER!! There is no reason on Earth why a dealer should have to worry about the temperature in ANY State.... IF.... they use the CORRECT type of shipping box, they use a heat or cold pack, if they have the box picked up as late as possible, usually around 5-6 o'clock, if they ship it next day air, if they get it there before 10'30am... etc, etc, etc.... The package leaves in the evening and arrives before it gets hot over there! And if you know it's going to be cold, you put two, three, even FOUR heat packs in the box, just to make sure.... I don't "buy" that BS for a minute! I have NEVER had an animal die due to weather conditions (well, except once, when it was left on the front doorstep in the sun for the afternoon!.... I sent him another one&#33.... that's why I say what I do! If they KNOW how to pack a box for the ANIMAL'S safety.... they can ship ANY TIME IN ANY SEASON!! So don't let them kid you!
....Neil

I agree with Neil on that (did *I* just say that?)

Feel the love --

Oh yeah.... there's one thing I forgot to say.... normally, I use CAPS to simply EMPHASIZE a word.... this time, I want this to be what it is.... SHOUTING AT THE TOP OF MY LUNGS!!....

"IF YOU DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, YOU'LL *NEVER* HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN!!"

If you guys can remember that, Rich will be REALLY pissed at me, because we won't NEED this site anymore.... but, I'm sure we could find other uses for it???
....Neil

I agree with the proper packing concept. These so called temperature problems didn't start until after I had shipped my end of the trade. He could have used the cold pack I sent with my animals to ship his animals to me! At that point I decided to just try to ride it out hoping for a "happy ending". Again, just for the record, he received my snakes 8/5/02. If you check the recorded temps for his area a couple of weeks ago, you will see that some of the highs never got out of the low 80's. Ironically, if you go back in this post, you will see that about a month ago he was offering animals "shipped on Monday, if PayPaled by Sunday". As I told Jim in a private e-mail, my only assumption at this point is that he never had the animals he was offering in the first place.
I have given him the opportunity to make good 3 different ways:
1. Send me the 1.1 Hognoses.
2. Send me back my 1.1 House Snakes in as good of condition as he received them.
3. Deposit $125 in my PayPal account.

There is a limited time to use number 1 or 2 since night time lows in my area are starting to go into the 40's.

He so far hasn't fulfilled any of these 3 options. What would you think and do?

Another thing me and Bryan were/are worried about is that he owes us each a pair of western hogs. We are worried that they are the same snakes and he doesn't have 2 pair to ship. At this point we feel he doesn't ahve any of the snakes he owes us.

At this point I would rather have the cash. I have decided to sell my collection and focus my time and resources on rescues. I feel I can do more good for the hobby by helping the shelters in my area with the overwhelming amount of herps that get dropped on their front step. The only herps I am keeping are going to be Berdies, due to the fact these are the only ones my wife likes :)

So if you read this Jay, send me $200 via Paypal and get it over with. I have no need of the snakes at this time.

Thanks.

JASON KIPER also ripped me off
i fronted him 500 some dollars worth of reptiles to go sell to some pet stores in early summer. He claimed he sent me money through the post office, however i never recieved anything. AND WHO IS STUPID ENOUGH TO SEND CASH THROUGH THE POST OFFICE. He was very rude in his responses to me and would never sent me the money. i contacted the law enforcement and come to find out he's on probation right now
i would not trust him, question everything he say's and i wouldn't deal with him. He is a very dishonest and shady person. He has not kept his word whatsoever. As to date he is going to be prosecuted for his failure to pay. if anybody has any info i can use to support my case it would be helpful.
people like him are why the reptile buisness gets a bad name
thanks

i'm on the road to attend a funeral for my uncle, and to top it off my
grandmother is now in the hospital.
i have'nt been on the BOI since my last post.i just read a e-mail from
a
friend that states you guys are shredding me about this.by the way-I DO
HAVE
2.2 W.HOGGS!no animals will be sent! I WILL issue full refunds(with the
exception of a pinkie pump that i never wanted in the first place).

good
faith, for now i can issue a small payment to both of you, until i return

If a refund is the way you want to settle up, then
Paypal $200 to [email protected]

This includes the pinkie pump. It was my mistake for
sending it, but you kept it. You don't want to pay for
it, return it in working condition then the amount of
the refund will be $160.

I am not shredding you, just upset that as soon as the
weather broke and you were able to ship, something
came up. I am sorry for your lose, but the doesn't
negate your responsibility to your customers. Dragging
this on for as long as you have is not good business.
There were several times when you could have shipped
to any one of us. Packaging with cold packs will allow
you to ship in temperatures up to the high 80's.

In my case, I have been waiting since before you moved
to Arizona. How long has that been? It's not like I
paid for potential offspring. These were animals you
stated you had in your possession already. If I was
paying (or trading) for an animal that you might
produce with your breeders, then I wouldn't be as
upset. I would expect to wait as long as it took for
you to produce the herp I paid for. I know of people
who have waited up to 18 months for the breeder to
produce the animal he paid for. But this is not the
case.

Circumstances have changed in my case and a total
refund (or refund andthe pinkie pump), will better
serve my needs.

So far no good will payment into my paypal account. No response to my return email, nothing.

This is going to be a long drawn out refund, I can tell.

I will update in 7 days or if I get the refund, which ever comes first.

Since Jim posted his reply, I figured I would post with mine, which was sent in response to the same message, received the same day. Since I haven't figured out how to do the "quote" thing, I have just copied and pasted my message:

When you have the entire amount, my PayPal account is
[email protected]. I will not accept partial payment, since that
negates my option to seek another means of collection. By accepting a
partial payment, a person gives up some of the legal rights available to
them to seek restitution.

The message Jim posted above is also the last message I received from Jay. I will also keep this post up to date. For anyone else that Jay owes money or snakes to, I have the web site for the FBI Internet Fraud Division. The process starts with filing a complaint with the facts of your case. If anyone wants this site, contact me by personal e-mail, and I'll give you the site address.

It is now November 2nd and no reply to my email to Jay. No money in my paypal account and no returned pinkie pump.

I am going to go along with the other two people that Jay has scammed and file a report with the authorities.

Jay, or Jay's friend, contact me ASAP.

I have already filed a report with the FBI Internet Fraud Complaint Center for a total loss of $157.09 ($125 for the snakes, and $32.09 for the next day air shipping. I didn't charge for the box or the cold pack), since I haven't heard anything for about 2 weeks, and we are going on 3 months since the trade took place.
I will keep the board posted as to how things proceed.

P.S.- Jim, did you get the web site I sent?, and whoever else needs the web site to file complaints against this guy, notify me by private message.

Still Nothing from jason Kiper

It is now November 16th and I have heard nothing from Jason about making restitution for the items we traded. I have yet to receive the snakes, Paypal payment for the items I shipped him, or even a response to my emails.

Again, a warning to all herpers,

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!!!! HE IS BAD NEWS!!!

The last email was sent yesterday and if I do not get a repsonse by the 20th I am filing a report with both the FBI and his local authorities.
