    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Kevin nailed it. No matter how upset you were with Steven and he with you, try, for a millisecond, to see things from his perspective. He brought it here only after you told him he was out of luck over the $2000 that you owe him. It was you that could have avoided it, simply by doing the right thing.
 
Your right, this thread was unnecessary but you made it necessary. Everyone does make mistakes, but they are only justified if you take responsibility for them. One mistake doesn't completely tarnish your reputation if you only make up for it in a fair manner. I think Steve deserves his money back as stated by everyone. It is fair that he wants a set date of payments as well. I'm glad you guys are working things out. Jason, it might still be possible for you to save your growing business yet. I hope you read up a lot more before trying to do so. Good luck to both of you.
 
It's really simple you Screwed Up, plain and simple!!! Get it taken care of and move on. Yeah this hurt your reputation but not so that it can't be fixed.

Don't whine here take your drumming and do better next time. Make your next customers so happy that they post what a great guy you are and before long people will see this as just a growing pain.. Randy

Jason expressed Sunday night that he was able to come up with the money and that a refund can be sent instead of the replacement animals. I gladly accepted the refund, which was sent Monday afternoon. Thank you all for the help and support, other wise I might be out a lot more then the $96 in paypal return fees.

I don't know that I would never buy from him. He made a mistake, got heated, was out a ton of money, and made another series of mistakes after it got hot on both sides. He's now made it right. Maybe he's learned a lesson. He's young and relatively new from what I gather. Certainly I would not put him in the "out and out bad guy" category. If he had something that I really wanted then I might consider a COD type purchase until he proves himself with a couple of good transactions.

Steven, I'm glad that you got your money back. That was the important thing.
 
I just finished a transaction with Jason and it went very well. He was easy to talk to on the phone and very knowledgable. I would not hesitate to order from him again.

despite th overall hostile rep of this site there are a ton of nice people on this site and it never ceaes to amaze me. i have been riped off before by too many people before who did the same thing as jason or by people who are like pruett... so i have little trust.

I have nothing to hide. I did not like the name JP Imports. Its cheap and unimaginative. I then thought of Preux Imports but figured that would get me into a legal situation with Pro Exotics because of the similarity of the names, and i don't want to ride anyone's wind. They deserve what they have earned and I respect them for that. I then thought of ICR but thats for another reason all together. Few will know the meaning of that. But then chose the name Protean for the latin root of Proteus. Protean means variable and able to accept new forms because i want to build a terrarium company. I figured it would be more fitting. So I have four DBA's relating to Protean. Its quite the useful name in that respect. I have had my short comings there as well, but I do not look away from them I am learning from them. You can continue to add to this listing, it doesn't bother me. Most of you have no experience in dealing with me or talking with me. Nor do you have any real information relating to what has occurred in my past dealings. I have many more positive sales than i do negative sales. I have my share of people who will give me references and who continue to do business with me and then I have two people who would like to see me go down in flames. That is fine. I know my shortcomings. If you want animals from me, check my references rather than this site. This will give you the information from one person's point of view rather than multiple people's. I also have people who have done me very right only for me not to be able to repay them because of the financial straight my lack of imports, sales and this very issue we are adding to right here.

My 1 transaction with Jason Perillo

I'm sure anyone who claims to have had a horrible transaction with Jason will not want to listen to my story, but I bought 1 Uroplatus Phantasticus from him a few months back and I thought he was very reliable, polite and professional. The gecko arrived safe and sound and he called me the morning it arrived to double check everything was ok. I am hopefully soon getting 4 more phantasticus from him and I trust him. I've had many phone conversations and emails exchanged with him and from what I can tell he is an honorable person. I'm sure the majority of the stories with him are positive, but nothing or no one is ever 100%. No complaints from me, worst I can say is that you have to be patient with him because he is very busy.
