This is long overdue, but a recent interaction gave me the push I apparently needed.
Jason Yan and I have done a number of deals for various species of tortoises over some years now. Sometimes purchasing and sometimes trading. I have nothing but good things to say about my experiences with him.
Among other things, Jason has some (Limburg line) pure South African leopard tortoises that do very well for him and he is one among the handful of breeders that I suggest to people who are looking for that particular regional variant of the leopard tortoise. One of my favorite male ivories (Hand Banana) was sold to me by Jason as well. My history with Jason is rich and positive.
Now for the impetus for me to finally get around to this. There was a turtle in CA that the seller wanted to sell and was apprehensive about shipping, effectively limiting this to local buyers. The turtle presented a unique opportunity for me that I did not want to pass up. Thinking about my network, the first person who came to mind was Jason for possible assistance. I checked their mutual proximity to make sure the trip would not be excessively burdensome before I might ask. I reached out to the seller and to Jason. The seller agreed to being paid ahead of time and letting Jason meet up for transfer of custody. Jason agreed to make the trip on my behalf and ship to me (with me providing reimbursement from the get-go at my prompting). Everything proceeded as planned and my turtle arrived safely today. I deeply appreciate the favor Jason did for me and wanted to share my experience.
I would never hesitate to buy from, sell to, or trade with Jason Yan if either of us might have an interest in the other's available offerings in the future.
