In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Much like the issue I am having with my boa, My supposedly female spider happens to be a male. I bought the spider from Jason Little back in January and I just got the opportunity to have it professionally sexed and I saw for my own eyes that it did indeed have hemipenis.

Did you bother to contact Jason Little and see if he would fix the issue? Missexing snakes happens to people all the time. If you contacted him, showed him you paid for a female, and that the snake you got is a male, it's entirely possible he'd make it right. Which was pointed out to you in the other thread you just posted.

Yes I did contact him. He basically outlined his terms and said that he sold me a female. Other than that he didnt have much to say.

Have you told him that you started this thread so we can hear more than just your side of this? If not, then I've gotta put you on my "don't sell to" list. Maybe you should plan future purchases around the availability of your "professional sexer". Do you have any other snakes that have been hanging around for months that you haven't had sexed yet?

If you have contacted him, and he's not willing to make it right, then it's a legitimate complaint. It's just very very odd that suddenly you have two seperate species that were missexed.

Hello all,
Well I was hoping to settle this without all this but since he opened this can of worms here it goes. This is all the emails we have had together. I put these terms on sales to try to avoid all this but whatever. I will now let you all decide.

That is definitly true I should have contacted you within 72 hours. I agree with your terms but still you should always make absolutly sure that the snakes you sell are as listed on your site. All I want you to do is be more careful about this.

#1 Here are the terms off my website: Guarantee - We guarantee our livestock to arrive healthy and properly identified. We guarantee that all specimens are sexed properly unless otherwise noted. If you are not 100% satisfied, please contact us within 72 hours!!!
You should have notified me of all this within 72 hours of receiving snake! I would allow even a week but 1 1/2 months later! How do I know you aren't trying to scam me now? That is your responsibility! All I know is I sent you a snake that was a female here after probing and popping. I sold over 40+ snakes this year and you are the only one to come to me with this problem. So, what do you want me to do now???

Best regards,

The female spider ball python I bought from you is actually a male. So learn how to sex your snakes, I am definitly putting this on fauna.

Here is what he said about the spider I sent him in a previous thread:

Hi I've bought a female spider ball python from him and got same one in the pic that was on his site. He is a great guy, very honest he didnt hide anything about the snake's hstory or its parents history. He even gave me an awesome ball python breeding video. And helped me out with alot of questions that I had. If you ask me he is very trustworthy.
Hope this helps

Nice way to initiate a conversation....especially from a person that can't verify the sex of his snakes. :shootfoot

You have a live arrival, and correct indentification guarantee, then, you have a correct sex guarantee. You state if you are not satisfied, to contact you within 72 hours. It does not say the correct sex guarantee is only good for 72 hours. If you have pics, and it is the same snake, you need to take it back.

I did have a bit of a temper with all of this and I am going to have this sorted out. My mother ,who actually bought the snake, sent you that first email simply because she bought me the snake for CHristmas(even though it was a late present) and she didnt like the we were told it was a male when it should have been a female. I do want to apologize for the harshness and I am going to find a specialized vet to help me sort this out as well as going back to the other breeder probed my snakes and make absolute sure about this. I am definitly not perfect and I make alot of mistakes and like this time I have gone alittle too far, I do apologize. I am still getting the hang of this since I am still a considerable newbie at this. So I am sorry again Jason and everyone at this site. If another incident like this does happen I will pace myself like I should have in the first place.

A month and a half later goes against the guarantee you agreed to. You should always check the animal upon arrival, health, sex, and take proper quarantine methods for any new snake. I'm sure if you contacted Jason within a week or so this wouldn't be a problem at all. Not accusing, just saying, you would've had a month and a half to find a male spider. Also, what are your plans with this snake(breeding or pet)? If your plans are breeding I'd say you are probably better off.

Yeah I dont really have anyone in my area who sexes snakes so when I found that there was somebody around(about an hour away from me) I got excited because I have been wanting to get my unsexed snakes probed and double check on my others. I feel absolutely terrible about this and I will never be this inmature about this again and I apologize once more.

IMO there is no time period for a mis-sexed snake.
As long as it is the same one sent, it should be guarenteed that sex forever. Unlike clownfish, ball pythons cannot spontaneously change sex.
Jason should have a record and photo of the snake he sent. Send him a photo of the snake you say is a male along with the name and contact info on who sexed it for you.

If you read the other "WATCH OUT" thread about boas and balls, I think he is taking his snakes to get sexed from the wrong person and jumping to conclusions too fast and putting "WATCH OUT" next to a breeders name on the BOI is premature and outright wrong in this situation.

Perfectly said Steve. I couldn't agree more

I would never buy a snake if I didn't have a vet to take it to. Just my .02.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Jason and I have discussed this and he will have her re-sexed and then a resolution will be made. I do wish he would have made further communications with me before posting this but what is done is done.

The good thing is Jason L. seems willing to work things out with Jason D. if the sex is wrong. Jason D.,I'm glad to see you realize you went to far to fast. If the guy that sexed your snakes for you turns out to be wrong then he may have sexed the boa wrong also. I would check that one also and if he is wrong, you may owe someone else an apology also. Good luck.
