• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Esoteric, I understand you are pleased with your retics, but please don't post the same exact photos you already posted in this thread repeatedly. It would be better just to refer back to the photos by mentioning them. Thanks!

Thought I should relate this

About 3 years ago I recieved an 8 foot tiger retic from a friennd who had received it in a "package deal" My friend did not know how to care for this animal as it was in bad shape, and asked if I would like to try to "heal " it. I thought I would try, so he shipped the tiger to me overnight the day he received it. When I opened the box I thought it had died due to the smell, the poor animal had rotten flesh on its entire belly, I had never seen anything like this so I posted on a retic forum, Jay from Prehistoric posted in reply and left his phone #. I called and talked with him for a long time about the tiger retic. With his advice the retic was soon eating, and after the second shed the wounds were completely healed. He will probably have scars for the rest of his life, but it could have been much worse. At the time we did not have any "good" reptile vets within an hr. or so drive.

An unfortunate misunderstanding

Well, for whatever reason, I personally never received any email or phone message from you after I asked you to send me the email. I probably could have made some effort to try and contact you to see if you had come to some sort of decision about the snake, but since I never got the emails/messages, I figured that maybe you had decided to keep the snake and be done with it. I can only learn from experiences like these and make adjustments so that nothing like this happens again. If you could maybe post the exact email address that you used to send me the emails somewhere so that I could try to find out why we never got the emails from you, it would be appreciated. I would like to have our webmaster take a look and try to fix any problems with our email so that we do not have this problem again with any other customers. I am sorry that you had this experience and I am sorry that you feel the way you do about me, but you are entitled to your opinion.

I think Liquid Leaf was just trying to save you some warning points. :)

ok... thank you liquidleaf & connorrm. i am kind of new... so i appreciate the advice.

i might have taken it personally - as in i was guilty of spamming the boards of something.

sorry if i was spamming... i could look at reptile pictures all day! :spinner03 :crazy03:

thanks!

well, to get this thread back on track, i was looking around at places i had received snakes from. turns out i got my male dumeril's from the guys at prehistoric pets and if i recall correctly, i had absolutely no problem at all from them and the snake i got has been absolutely marvelous. never a strike and one of my best eaters. based on my experience (however limited) i would recommend them.

Not flawless but still a good transaction

I ordered a male yellow belly bp from them over the weekend last. The add stated 500g+. When i emailed them Patrick Powers promptly emailed me back to tell me that they didnt have one over 500g anymore but that they had one that was 480g. We worked out a deal and I sent him the money. We kept close communication everyday as steps were taken until the end. Patrick answered all my questions promptly and the snake was shipped as soon as they recieved my check (with my permision of course). My male arrived this morning. So far everything looks good. The male is indeed 484g and looks like a true yellow belly.

The only flaw is that they didnt send me the photo ID and receipt that they had previously agreed to include. That always makes me a little nervous because I expect that documentation whenever I make an expensive purchase.

If I recieve the documentation soon then I will return and give them an A
If not, then I can only give them a B because I did at least get the snake I asked for.
