In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm looking for some cool naturalistic cage ideas for my 4 1/2ft. jcp. He's in a 55 gal. aquarium (48x12x18) tank.

Also, if you don't mind, can you put in the supplies and prices. THANKS!!:shootfoot

Did you want to buy it or make it yourself? Pre-made costs a lot more, a background cost over 100 bucks. I made my background, and it cost me a few hours of actual work (3 days total of waiting for things to dry) and less than 75 bucks for all the supplies and tools to do it. Ed at NW Constrictors has some awesome backgrounds. He is also a friendly guy. Big Apple herps also carries some pre made stuff. For decor such as vines and hallow cork tubes I'd recommend LLL Reptiles and Viv Concepts. If you decide to DIY let me know I can provide you with some great websites. Good luck.

DIY Background construction is aquarium hobbyist website but these are the same principals I used. Couple of tips I'd recommend is use several thin and watery layers of cement. That way it going to be lighter and cracks and chips less. I made my background very thick. My tank ways over 50lbs and it's only a 20G tank. Only downfall of using cement is it can scratch up a snake skin. I am in the porcess of building a new background for my snake new tank and this time around I am using a the dendroboard for background ideas and tips. I think he did a great job on his very simple and easy to clean and access but looks great as well. So it all depends on how complicated and how much work you want to put into it.

So what exactly did you have in mind? Being a lil bit more specific would help. Like I said if you want just vines and such try LLL or Viv Concepts.
