Stop the lies and deception!

The 2 threads you keep refering to a scamming (lie) are about animals I PAID FOR and recieved. Not things we produced and or sold.
Amazing. I go away for over a month- 2? Same *^*%^&%$ different day. I have sold at least 100 animals since the last group flogging, not a companint still! Our customer service and animal quality for 8 years speaks for itself. It is impeccable. Like it or not!
MORE boldface lies...what planet are you living on?
Selective memory does NOT dictate reality, facts do!
While most of my bad expereience was dealing with your Mother, you were involved at several stages as well...as far as I'm concerned, you are both in these messes together and need to be shunned to the point of being forced to close operations...
To refresh your selective memory, here again is the info I sent to the review board for reptileauctions.com...must have worked since your deceptive ads for the hybrid Rankins were pulled and have not reappeared...
Hi There~
I am writing to complain about a breeder that is using your auction site to sell hybrid Rankin dragons through total misrepresentation and bold face lies. Her name is Jeanne Best and her moniker is Spokanelizardlady. I am aware that she is rated as a Power Seller and lists quite a few auctions. I can’t speak to the veracity of all of her listings -- just for the 100% Pure Rankins dragon listings. I will provide you with some details and facts related to my dealings with this woman and you can decide for yourself is she is operating in a manner your site wishes to enable and promote…myself and others find it to be unethical to say the least…
To try and make a long story as short as possible:
I am new to Rankins dragons, and when I first saw her ads, I was interested and got in touch with her…she responded and I ended up buying 2 from her. At the time it was tough getting info out of her, but she did tell me how she was producing these animals. Being new to the Rankins, I was very under-educated on what she is doing at the time of purchase…I had questions, but felt good about getting them. After the purchases, I was lucky to hook up with some reputable breeders that helped me get some much needed enlightenment on why these hybrids are not desirable…especially as a breeding project…
Here is my current understanding of what’s what here:
Vittikins were tried years ago and the breeder was shut down…
Long story short, she was breeding Rankins to Beardies and calling the offspring Vittikins…mainly for size reduction, they maxed out somewhere between a Beardie and a Rankin mainly because she stopped with the original cross…the damaging result was that for somebody’s weird idea of a desirable result, the genetic lines of the Rankins were being irreparably corrupted…
Hybrid Rankins that are now showing up are being created by breeding a Rankin with a high color Beardie…that offspring is then bred with a pure Rankin, then that offspring is again bred to a pure Rankin, then that offspring is bred to a pure Rankin, etc. The breeder I know of that is doing this is not being honest in marketing them as hybrids. They believe that after enough generations (5 in the case of the 2 hybrids I have) of being back-bred, that they magically become Rankins again—pure, no less. I’m certainly not a geneticist, but it’s pretty much common sense to see that once the genetics are corrupted, they can’t be repaired by back-breeding even if visual remnants of the cross are gone. Their reason for doing this is to get color in the Rankins. After all that back-breeding to get rid of the Beardie look and body characteristics, let me tell you, there isn’t much color left! Which sure begs the question—WHY DO THIS? Absolutely ridiculous monkeying unnecessarily with good genetic stock…MHO
The big issue here is the need to maintain the very limited pure Rankin genetics. Very few WC bloodlines can/are being introduced, so it’s pretty much what we have is it…this corruption of the genetics for Rankins jeopardizes their future for all to enjoy…and again, FOR WHAT…a slight pale wash that is sometimes present? Now having some pure Rankins to evaluate, I have to say they are MOST desirable as pure and non-hybridized!
The two hybrids I have will remain pets and un-bred…fortunately I hooked up with some quality breeders with integrity who hooked me up with a pure trio to start my Rankin breeding project…I urge all to think long and hard before buying hybrids of this species and enabling the breeder(s) doing it to continue.
Having said all that, I do not approve of the breeding project that Jeanne Best has undertaken here. HOWEVER, my BIGGEST complaint is that she is not standing by what she is doing (I believe because she knows there are MANY herpers out there that do not condone this) and instead misrepresents them as something they are not. Her ads have been modified a great deal from what they were when I first got involved with her, and she continues to compound the lies in an effort to make herself and what she does appear legitimate. Without beating it to death, I will attempt to provide a few snippets that are indicative of what has been going on and is most objectionable with her listings…
*the pics on her current ads are OBVIOUSLY color enhanced and poorly done at that…the actual hybrids are NOWHERE near this colored…
*the current ads have been changed and modified pretty much daily, I believe in response to her “getting wind” of people raising objections…for example, there have been several “leading” questions posted to her listings…most she answered, but then later went back and deleted the Q&A’s from the listing…the only one remaining directly contradicts what she is doing--in an answer to the question of whether or not Beardies and Rankins can be cross bred…she says “Not to her knowledge”, well that is exactly what she is doing to get these hybrid Rankins…pretty scary that she would actually post that blatant denial!
*I went back and modified feedback I left for her to reflect the true situation I had with her…she responded by banning me from bidding on her auctions, then went back in and added a follow-up to my feedback that is infantile and contains more lies contradicting what’s what…
*She offers to prove these dragons are pure Rankin by providing photos of the parents…not the problem here as the great or great-great grandparent is the Bearded dragon and the source of the hybridization…
*Following are some e-mail threads that PROVE that she is lying now in her representation and marketing of these hybrids on your website. Please read from the bottom up by thread section:
Basically, yes.
Thanks so much,
Jeane Best

Subject: RE: Rankin female auction.../Drankins
Hi~
Thanks for your speedy and informative response…very interesting and lots to think about!
So, please let me know if I understand…
Rankin+Beardie=Drankin
Drankin+Rankin=less Drankin
Less Drankin+Rankin=even less Drankin
If that is the process, how many generations out before you consider the hybrid a Rankin again?
I see what you mean about the heads of the males in the comparison photo, but probably because you drew my attention to it
A few more questions:
* is the female I am getting a result of this process? In other words, basically any Rankin with unusual coloring has come from this process?
* in your opinion, what would constitute the “best” mate for her in the future…a normal Rankin? If you were keeping her, how would you plan to breed her since she is a cool “pink”?
* What is the price of the Drankin male?
Thanks for your patience and information~
Barry

I have no unrelated males at this time. I have related by mother, and in the incubator, related by father. We have yellow unrelated that will be laid in a week and unavailable till at least 6 wks old.
I have one Drankin. To make a long story short. In order to get color you breed in colored beardies, then you breed the bearded back out and have a colored rankin.
I bought a colored rankin. Male yellow. But he is not all the way breed back out. I can tell from always dealing in them. Most people would never know with him. But I would say he is still 10% bearded dragon. His head is a little off. Otherwise he is all rankin.Body, pattern, everything perfect! One more breed from him with a pure rankin and you would have yellow rankins.
Here are his pics. Also beside a full male rankin to compare. He is ready to breed.About 1 to 1.5 months!
Let me know if you decide to add him to your order.
Thanks so much,
Jeane Best

Subject: Rankin female auction...
Hi Jeane~
I won the auction for the “pink” Rankins Dragon female J
We also exchanged a few e-mails a couple of weeks ago about what you have/will have available.
I have no problem paying now via PayPal (+4% fee) or Money Order for the Rankin I won…it sure would be great if we could combine shipping though if you have anything else available at this time that I’m interested in:
Unrelated male Rankins Dragon ?
Drankins? (you mentioned them…I assume they are a Beardie/Rankin cross?)
Anyway, before I pay and arrange shipment, was hoping to hear what/if anything else you have available now or soon…pics would be great!
I am interested in the Rankins especially, but also am intrigued by the “drankins”…any info on them would be much appreciated…
Thanks much~

Hi Barry, Glad to her that Rizzo is doing so well. Great name by the way!
The male that is listed is not the one I sent you. And nope, he isn't related either. He is the first of our new yellow line. They are growing like weeds. I was able to get them selling 3 weeks earlier than I expected. He is smaller though than your girl. Not a lot, but a bit.
Your and this yellow one are our first batches for sale. They are 5 generations after the initial color cross with a normal BD. I am sure you have heard all opinions from one end to the next. Us too But to heck with them. They are darn cute. There is much we don't agree with.....like line breeding. 60% of the breeders do that. So we all have opinions. I see their point though.
We will have normals available is about 10 weeks. We have 8 breeding pairs of them. Only 2 each of the colors. They should be hatching any day !
Thanks so much,

Subject: Rankin Update...
Hi Jeane~
Been meaning to get back to you with an update on the female Rankin I got from you…she is doing great and is a delight to have! Took her a few days to settle in, but is eating and pooping well J She also has gained 2 grams since arriving! Glad it all worked out so well!
I also wanted to ask if the Yellow male you have listed on Reptile Auction is the one you had e-mailed me about? If he is not related to Rizzo (after Stockard Channing’s character in Grease as head of the “Pink Ladies”…LOL), then I have changed my mind and am interested in him as a mate for Rizzo.
Since I hooked up with you, I have also hooked up with some other Rankin breeders…have been having quite the “debate” over the pros/cons of hybridizing…still not sure where I stand in regard to Rankins, but understand where you are coming from and what you are doing. As such, I have decided another hybrid would probably be the “best mate” for Rizzo. As I’m sure you know there is a limited availability of these wonderful critters, so choices are limited. I am planning on getting an unrelated trio of pure Rankins from two other breeders to start a project with them also…
Anyway, was wondering if you thought this yellow fellow would be a good match with Rizzo and if he’s still available…I can bid on him like before, no problem…just want to be sure of compatability first…I would also be interested in knowing how many generations back from the Rankin/Bearded cross these two are…just so I know what I have to work with…
Thanks much~

*AND MORE DETAIL
Ok Barry, what a project. I have never had so many problem. LOL. I looked looked again, triple checked sizes, body parts. They are all playing tricks on me today. Here is the only suitable male I came up with that is in the pink/peach family and is for sure a male and big enough to go out.
His all over body is not as pink as yours, but his bows are bright peach. He is a cross between one like yours and a normal. Try as I might I couldn’t get a good pic of him. I tried 2 different backgrounds and even put him next to a normal full grown male to compare. You'll have to trust me on this that he is prettier in person. Today is not my day or his for photos.
I marked his little toshie so he cant go hide on me now in case you want him
Thanks so much,

I agree, could be risky on the color mix…would like to see some pics of what you have available in unrelated males…both yours (peach highlights) and those from your girlfriend’s clutch (are they normal or colors?)…would like to get at least a mate for Roxie at this point J
Thanks much~

Oh, I missed the last part. If you want to breed the 2? No I think it isn't a good match. I have no idea what color youd end up with. Youd hope for 1/2 and 1/2 but if it mixes it might not be cute. I think I have a few unrelated males . They just have the peach highlights. No real body pink. My girlfriend who bought a pair decided not to keep the clutch last week. She wants them sold. I have them here. Let me know if you are interested in one of them. I can send pics.

I could go on and on, but think I have provided enough info in her own words to blatantly dispute what she now is posting as fact…as I said, I was very under-educated at the time on Rankins, and for that I am now sorry. I will say that the hybrid dragons I got from her seem healthy and active. I guess my big complaint here is the lying and misrepresentation…I don’t think that is serving your website well or the customers that utilize your service…I can’t stop her from breeding in this manner and don’t think you can either…what I do think should be done and respectfully ask that you do is sanction and/or ban her from listing these animals in this way…not sure how you do that, but felt I needed to bring the situation to your attention…
I would be happy to provide you with any more info you might find helpful in accomplishing that end…
Thanks much for listening to my complaint…look forward to hearing from you regarding this situation…
