In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Jeff and Christina Wise (Wise Reptiles) Stole Money from Benefit Auctions for Maggie

Dave, if you set a specific deadline, it will likely help to get folks to go ahead and move on this stuff. A task like visiting the local police may seem quite daunting to some, and easily procrastinated on despite all good intentions. With a deadline, they'll have more incentive to get it done sooner, rather than putting it off indefinitely.

There's also a point in time where waiting any longer for "one more report" to come in begins to cost more in lost momentum than you would gain from the additional report itself. Giving a specific deadline helps to ensure you don't accidentally cross that line.

Just a thought. It all almost makes me wish I'd been a part of this, just so I COULD go to the police and be a part of bringing those two down.

Judy, Well if I read this correctly everyone can participate at least in the aspect of filing an IC3 complaint. It reads:

IC3 accepts online Internet crime complaints from either the person who believes they were defrauded or from a third party to the complainant.

In reading that I don't see why everyone and everyone can't make an IC3 complaint against the Wises for pocketing the monies intended for Maggie and Rich. So everyone who has made a reply on this thread or at least reads this please go and make that IC3 complaint and get me your complaint number. Every one will be another nail in their coffins so let's make sure they don't slip through the cracks and let's nail them good!!!!

For those who are actually involved in these auctions be it winner or if you donated an item/animal, please go to your local Police and make a complaint. If anyone needs any information or help preparing to make a complaint feel free to contact me and I'll be glad to help you out in any way. My e-mail again is [email protected].

As for a "dead line" let's say get me those complaint numbers by next Wednesday, June 9th, 2010. Let's not allow these two to go another day free by procrastinating any further. Make your complaints today and let's put these two away. I've got the hammer poised let's see those nails as I am in a "whack a mole" kind of mood these days. :dgrin:

Fascinating bit of information! I had no idea outside parties could file. I'm off to check it out now!

Will multiple IC3 Case numbers by non-involved parties really add to the substance of the case, though? I agree, the number would look more impressive, but wouldn't the case be prosecuted on the merits of the evidence against them? I don't know that a prosecutor would take the case because 100 non-involved parties registered IC3 complaints, as opposed to 10... and I don't believe those complaints could legitimately be added as extra "counts" of fraud to the resulting prosecution.

I tend to agree with Judy's line of thought... I want to see these thieves behind bars. Now. :) I think that encouraging a bunch of people who are basically uninvolved, albeit emotionally invested, might just add "noise" to the case, without really adding substance.

Just my thoughts though... if you have information from Law Enforcement or a prosecutor that states that a bulk dump of IC3 numbers would actually add to the expediency of the case, then I'm on it.

Tom makes a most excellent point. Dave...I trust your judgment in this...is it your belief that more "noise" will help the case? Or might it muddy the waters and distract from those who actually had money involved?

If you say we should make as much noise as possible, I'll finish my filing. A request, though, if you do....Could you please give us a refresher post of the pertinent details we need to file the complaint? I mean, the basic facts of the case, I've got down, as well as the dollar amounts involved. But for the life of me, I can't find their current address, etc, even though I know it's buried in this mountain multiple times.

IMHO Tom is absolutely correct here. If everyone files just to file, it looks as though everyone is jumping on the bandwagon. I would tend to think that it would do more harm than good.

Judy, I quoted IC3's homepage right here just for everyone to see....

Filing a Complaint with IC3
IC3 accepts online Internet crime complaints from either the person who believes they were defrauded or from a third party to the complainant.

I guess you can interpret this as you will, but I would imagine that they only want complaints from people directly involved.

Looking at it that way...would make sense that they don't mean just any third party...but only someone directly related to the complainant. ie: spouse, parent of a minor, or a child of an elderly person who was ripped off, etc...

Well if the parties that are directly involved would make a complaint then the others would not be needed. Hint, hint.

While the uninvolved complaints may not do much to help in one aspect it may get the IC3 folks moving a little quicker with their part. :shrug01:

I'm just a little disappointed at the number of people who have posted that are directly involved yet I have only received a handful of IC3 complaint numbers and only 1 Police report case number. Those who have shown support by opening their wallets or by donating items/animals seem to be sitting idly by on their hands when they could be helping out by making these IC3 complaints and Police reports. By my math that was 26 winners and 16 people making donations (some winners were multiple winners and also people making donations or multiple donations too) for the 34 auctions. If the 42 people directly involved would get directly involved then we will have a much better chance to give the Wises exactly what they deserve.

Dave, I can't remember if this was asked. Have you ever asked for a list of the donations from the people that gave them, the people that won auctions and the people that donated products or services? Just to get an idea of exactly what the total tally is.

This would be done through emails or PMs.

Hey Dave,

Thanks for everything you're doing! :) I noticed that you are listed as a vendor for the Michigan Reptile Show held in Taylor Michigan from 10 - 4 on June 12th and every second Saturday of the month. (That info is more for others than you, as I am sure you know where you will be and when! lol) Do you think the Wises would show their faces there? Seems like it may be too tempting for them to pass up and would be a great way to get the word out via fliers, etc. on these two pieces of... work. Perhaps other (calm) folks would like to attend and help out? You may have already thought of this, but I was just thinkin'... ;)

I agree with you that "big talk" on the Internet is far easier than actually DOING something, and think that EVERYONE that was affected directly by these two has a direct and obligatory responsibility to pursue this, and should get you that info. I just have to stop and wonder if it will be pursued by IC3 purely on "volume", or if targeted, directly applicable cases will be more effective.

Anyway, I appreciate what you're doing, and I hate that there's nothing more I can do than spread the word and show support. The only thing that will stop these sociopaths is jail time.

Hey Dave, is there a post # that shows all of the Wises info. for those of us who have not done the IC3 yet. I'll get it done.

Sadly, this is the main reason charges were never successfully brought against Chris Johnson of TSE; not enough people followed through and did the necessary legwork. Hopefully this endeavor turns out better than that one did...;)

I've got a lot of this info already but have not asked for what I do not know of yet (i.e. prices of some donated items). It was something was I hoping to get to by this weekend. Or for those who donated an item(s) and are reading, if you would e-mail me ([email protected]) what you donated and the price of said item I would appreciate it.

Hello all. Sorry I haven't been around. Charles' cousin Joseph died from a heart attack the other day, he was 48. Obviously, this runs in his family.

I wanted to let all of you know - I don't know if it has anything to do with THEM, but my debit card and bank account have been hacked. Thankfully, I am friendly with one of the girls at the bank and was able to withdraw the money before they could get any more out. The name of the charge that showed up was "COMPUTER SOFTWARE 800-346-8752". I have never had anything like this happen to me before I used paypal. I don't want to give THEM any kind of credit, but please, all of you, look at your bank statements and see if this appears on any of yours. They first hit my account for $1.00 and then hit it for $14.90 and have been attempting to do this every day for days now.

I am going to have to open an entirely new bank account and paypal and wait to receive a new debit card as well. I doubt it has anything to do with this, but please check your statements and make sure it doesn't appear on yours as well.

Also, Angelina finally cried the other night - she has not cried since Charles died, not even at the funeral - so it was obviously a volcano.

Anyways, just wanted to let you know what was going on. If you guys need anything from me, let me know. Thank you all.

Hoping Angelina is on her way to start the healing process. She has to accept it before any healing can start.

Wow, it running in the family is so scary! They are too young for such problems.

Sure hope the lovely wise couple or their good bud david the nudist in MI are not responsible. Pretty good coincidence though!

Okay folks I need all you who have not yet made your IC3 complaint to do so (here is the link again http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx) and get me those case numbers. Also, I need all of you go to your local Police as well and make complaints there and get me those case numbers too. The more who do it the better the chance of giving these two what they deserve. The more complaints we gather the deeper I can go when I give it to them. :dgrin: So I am requesting anyone who donated and item or an animal or anyone who bid and won an auction to please make the IC3 complaint and to go to your local Police and make a report (push to make a report as some may not want to bother, make them without spending the weekend there). You all have shown support for Maggie and Rich by donating or purchasing the donated items and I am asking for you to continue to support them by making those complaints. Please make those complaints and get me any pertinent information so I can have it all in one place for any who need it. Again, please make those complaints, each and every one of you and get me your information.

I am still waiting to hear back from my cop friend... but I will send out emails tonight with everything I have to those that want it.... it will make your job easier when you go to your local PD because you should have everything you need right in front of you once you print it out.
