I used to be a teller so here is what I can tell you about the "check". Temp checks can be any number what so ever. However the number at the top right will always match the number on the bottom right after the account number. The routing number info for the check is as follows:

had THIS check (the one that is posted in this thread) cleared the Wise's account it would have cleared as check # 9994 not 9997 because the machine that reads the check and prints on the back of it reads the numbers on the BOTTOM of the check not the top. ALSO this check would have been kicked back by QC when it was checked for an endorsement, since there is not one. (probably wouldn't have gotten past the teller since the check is for a large amount). Bottom line is THIS check for Maggie was never "cashed".

Just some info. I know some one else already pointed out that the check was made with some type of paint program.

I first started reading this last night and the only thing that I could think to post was my feelings of shock and sickness...physical sick feelings. I was unable to pull an "all-nighter" as some of you did, but I may as well have; I did not sleep very well as this is really bothering me that someone could stoop SO low!

I was not a very big contributor, but I DID win an auction and therefor I AM involved personally so I am VERY willing to help with any investigation that we can get started. As already stated, this IS a FEDERAL OFFENSE!

If there is nothing overlooked on the Wise's behalf (and it does NOT look like there is!!) I would like nothing more than to see them rot in jail and pay for what they did to Chuck's family....as much as I want to say, "May he rest in peace", how could I expect him to do so now??

While thoughts of no more freedom (well, at least a few years for felonies on a federal level) for Jeff and Christina Wise make me ALMOST smile, they are only thoughts of retaliation and revenge.

What I would REALLY like to see is all of us pitch in what we can and take care of the Chuck's family. I'm willing to get the ball rolling with a $50 donation. As much as I wish I could do more, that's about it; however, if everyone taking time to post will do the same (whatever amount you're able), we can probably do Maggie better than the auction would have....had she ACTUALLY GOTTEN THE MONEY FROM THE WISE'S!!!!!!!

I am sincere in my gesture and hope that it will inspire others to follow. I never had the pleasure of meeting Chuck, but from reading MANY of his straight-shooting, no BS posts AND from all of his obvious TRUE friends, he was obviously a sincere, GOOD GUY!

But Chuck was my Internet friend as well as a brutally honest curmudgeon whom I greatly admired, and it just might help settle my stomach a bit after reading all of this to be able to help out his family (directly!) in some small way.

(...you know, I always thought it seemed a bit odd that the Wises, who didn't even show Chuck as a friend in their profiles, were so gung-ho about running the auctions and donations on their own. Just sayin'.)

That is very nice of you to say. The funny thing is, Charles did not know them. He did say something to me once that a "couple" that were on here sent him a private message asking if they could borrow money and he said it's funny, cause I don't even know these people. We just laughed it off. I did try to check his private messages, but couldn't find one. But I am positive someone asked him for money, but not 100% positive it was them, but I would place a bet on it. Charles had said there was something fishy about this "couple" he was telling me about and how they were everywhere all of a sudden.

I appreciate that you guys are all STILL trying to help me and the kids and appreciate it greatly. I still can't believe that she is trying to call ME a liar.....wow, people always amaze me, and I see alot of crap all day and it still gets me.

I haven't seen that the receiver gets charged a fee, but if the sender uses a credit card to send the money as personal, they have the option to pay the fee that is charged if you use other than a paypal balance or bank account direct.

When I paid for the two auctions I won, I had them send me an invoice. Well, their invoice and the way the payments were made, it became a cash advance transaction so not only did I have to pay fees, I also had to pay a higher interest rate for the cash advance.

Also, forgot to say that if you look at the balance after the transaction immediately following the check, the $40.00 cash withdrawal, the balance went from $88.02 to $40.02, where I'm from $88.02-$40.00= $48.02 not $40.02... There are some obvious gaps in that statement...

I don't think we will be hearing from them again! They SHOULD come on here and either 1) apologize for what they did or 2) provide a good reason for it. Given the evidence that has been presented I am leaning, no falling, toward number 1. Even if we never hear from them again, that is the MINIMAL thing to do.

I now have to go tomorrow and write a check to register my kids for summer camp, because they no longer have a father to watch them all summer, and now I won't be able to pay rent or utilities and will have to beg for understanding from my landlord and beg for extensions from utility companies while Jeff and Christina went shopping and paid all of their bills..........

There were times in me and Charles life that I cannot tell you how many days/weeks we lived on Ramen noodles (which of course, he cooked great!!!) - but we would rather do that than be dishonest and that is why he had so much passion about this site - and look at what all his work here turned into - someone sticking it to him when he can't even be here to do something about it. I have not lost any love for anyone of you here, if anything, I think I care about you all even more, but I will NEVER trust someone who tries to be my friend that quickly ever again. I feel like such a fool.

I didn't have much to do with the auction except to make a "test" run to see if it was actually on the up and up...and the events that transpired drew Dean under my suspicion too . He was buying stuff like mad at rock bottom prices (nah, I ain't mad at him..just showing how my mind works).((ducks and runs))

Deb, I hope that you do not feel like I had anything to do with this little scam of theirs. Yes, I bid on everything, but I had my reasons. If I didnt explain myself before, I bid on them so I could have some sort of list of ALL the auctions to calculate all of the money. They would not have been able to make a list that would differ from what I had being that I would have some sort of record. To be honest, I would have won EVERY auction just to be able to figure out where all the money was coming from and where it was going, if that makes sense. I only won two auctions in the end, leopard geckos and shirts. I did donate a snake too.

I did suspect them early on and only spoke to a couple of people about it Mid March-ish via email. I didnt know how to approach people about this, let alone accuse someone I felt was making a name for themselves in great stride. I became very distant over this, one for suspecting them and two, when they posted the funds list (I thought I was wrong because they made it public). Reagan and I both hammered Christina about the total amount collected and the total amount sent because honestly, I dont know Maggie and didnt want to bother her.

She even went so far as to ask us to start auctions so that they could drive to Fl to be with Maggie for the funeral. They wanted us to start auctions so they could take ALL of the kids to Disney World. It did not make sense to us to do so. Not that we were against send Maggie and HER kids to Disney World, but, we were definitely against sending Christina and her car load anywhere that they could benefit from.

I know that this might not clear things up, but I really hope that people do NOT feel that I was directly involved with this whole fiasco. I kept myself distant from many people and even stopped posting for awhile because of all of this. I went to their forum twice, once was to check it out and the other was because they said DAND was on there when he was banned. I wanted nothing to do with them and trust me, that was earlier on in the whole auction fiasco.

I wish I had money, I would for sure pay for those children to go to camp. My situation is not one that I can help much.

While I can't tell you how to feel, you have certainly have done nothing to feel foolish about! They pulled this one over on almost all of us; shame on THEM for that. Karma is a and they will get theirs...all for a "little bit" of money, when you look at the big picture.

The utter gall it took to do this to all families and persons involved is beyond comprehension to me. You have to have ice in your veins and in your heart to do something like this. I can see them switching out their regular clothes, for some very attractive prison wear in the near future.

Maybe a couple of days would give these two time to reflect on the ramifications of their actions and do the right thing, negating the need for a road trip. Doubtful, but possible.
