    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I completely disagree:

I think that Jeff went out of his way to make this deal right. Shannon came on here and said where the animal was caught and sold to Jeff as. Jeff sold the animal as the same sp. that it was sold to him as.If you look at the ad I dont think it was miss represented at all.
As far as the sock is concerned.. I dont know anyone that would spend 30-35.00 to send a sock with nothing in it especially when he knows everybody is reading this situation on the board.
I think that we just have 2 people with different expectations on a deal and nobody was "taken" in this deal. The buyer got the correct number of snakes and 1 extra "if he got it" if not he got what he payed for. As to the "other" person here with all the opinions who isnt even involved in the deal is just blowing this thing way out of proportion for some unknown reason.
Whether or not it is a eastern or a red "no one has really lost out in this deal and so why drag everyone involved down into the pit of so-called bad deals. Let-it-go!!!!
No "bad-guy" in this deal just 2 people that had a deal that didbt go perfectly.

Everyone forget what is written above. Jeff Schofield is one of the best people I have ever dealt with. There was a problem with my first shipment of maritime garters,on arrived dead ( shippers fault not Jeffs). When I told Jeff, not only did he make it right but he sent me a pair to replace the one that was lost. In my book that is a honest and great guy. Can't say enough about him. When the second package got lost, Jeff tracked it down and checked on the snakes to make sure they were in perfect condition!!!!! I feel he went far out of his way to make everything great. I will not hesitate to do business again. This seller is A++++++++++.

Expectations vs. reality

There seems to be a lot of different issues involved in this trade, but I'd like to just touch on the disputed milksnake...http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=43041&perpage=5&pagenumber=4...
Some info from the breeder states that the snake is from a population of red milks found in Madison Co. IA with a possible eastern influence...but more a syspila than triangulum...hmmm...

Not being an expert on milk snakes if a was expecting a Red Milk snake the snake pictured would certainly be suspect...Everyone can agree to the fact that anyone casually looking at that snake who has seen pics of them or have been at shows and seen them would say "Eastern Milk, for sure"...but...that seems not to be the case, per the breeder, and Mr Scarboro, in fact, did get a red milk snake...a very Eastern looking Red milk snake, but a L. T. Syspila...

Get pictures first next time (i'm sure you know that now)...Always get pictures...the dirty sock???...c'mon, who's lying about this one???...No "bad" guys here, JMHO, just a deal gone bad
 
I am originally from Massachusetts and have dealt with Jeff on numerous occasions. The people jumping on the anti-Schofield bandwagon (of which there are only a few) really amuse me, considering that you are getting your information from two people who are both doing really poor jobs telling their side of the story.

That said, I'd like to say that every time I've dealt with Jeff, whether it was for animals or some other herp-related issue, I have found him honest and willing to admit the extent of his knowledge.

I would not hesitate to do business with him again. People reading this thread would do well to question how it is that some people can come to conclusions so quickly after such a meandering and, at times, incomprehensible story. Jeff has been around for a long time. Find people who know some of that history, and make up your own mind then.
