Steve, do you really think this started with Wyatt? I mean we know that large breeders have had and probably still have animals that had, or still have this infection. So please explain why it is Jen that is the one paying for this? It is not new, and it is not real hard to figure out it has not just came out of Jen's or Wyatt's animals.
Maybe they should freeze the market until all of the animals can be tested, but we both know that would never happen. There are way too many breeders in it for the money, and they are not like Jen that has a true love for the animals. So please tell me, who are we kidding?
This attack on Jen does not make not one ounce of sense.
I dont get it, so just because they arent talking about it ( which i would then think they are SCUM if i knew who they were and had proof) , means that when people find out that someone does, it shouldnt be spoken about?
This whole thing sorta comes with the territory of posting online, and cmon, lets be serious, this is fauna, anyone who has spent even a week here knows that this place can be rough. You know that by sticking around and even participating on the boi. So why should ANYONE expect to be treated any differently or expect others to, just because they are a "known entity" on this forum?
I know i personally wouldnt expect to be given a free pass if this happened to me, and i made the same mistakes, and same jumbles of errors in my timeline. Does that mean that people have the right to be Evil and MEAN? no. But they have to understand that it was/is a serious threat to collections, and with that, yeah, youre going to get a bit of crap for it. anyone whos been on this forum for any length of time knows that it can go down like that.
I will not treat anyone all happy and nicey nicey. Its not who i am. Am i a generally nice person, who tries to give respect when i am posting? Yep. So i dont expect others to either.
If i saw evidence of someone WILLINGLY selling animals with this problem, i would do my best to have them taken out. I would be sure that everyone i can talk to KNOWS about their practices.
Jen has a collection that had a virus, she made a few mistakes and people picked up on that.
If this was handled better and proper quarantine was practiced and nothing was released when the first animal/s were known to be sick, this thread wouldn't be here. Hopefully, people will learn to handle these kinds of situations better because of this thread. To me, it seems like because jen is a nice person, and because this wasnt malicious, she didnt do anything wrong, and shouldnt be blamed for it. I think shes an adult, and adults admit they make mistakes,
and she has, but it seems like people want to think there shouldnt be any repercussions whatsoever.
When an adult steals, or breaks something, and then brings that item back, or goes back to admit they broke it, after feeling remorse ( be it from a friend, or their own conscience) does that mean they wont have repercussions? If you stole, that store owner can bring you to jail, regardless. You stole. bottom line. If you broke something, yeah, youre probably going to have to pay for it. Does that mean that the store owner is GOING to do either of those things if they are undestanding of the situation? no, but not everyone is like that. And One could NEVER expect people to be. Thats not how the world rolls. But, you take those consequences like an adult, and deal with them and hope for the best.
This is for those that might be afraid to post about their problems in their collections, and to you, i say, dont be. yeah you might get crap but you know what, i would give you FAR more respect for coming out with it, than i ever would you hiding it. and trust me, it WILL come out, and prolonging the inevitable is far far worse.
The GOOD people are honest and upfront about things, and the GOOD people are understanding when it does come out. I think right now, people are just upset and afraid. and they do have every right to be.
As long as jen sticks to not selling animals, or getting anything in for a GOOD long period of time, and then SLOWLY reintroduces an animal or two progressively, to test if her collection is safe, then i think EVERYONE will be happy in the end with this, INCLUDING jen.
There is NO reason for her to get rid of her existing animals, and NOONE should expect her to put them to sleep IF they are starting to thrive again. There is no reason for her to leave this hobby. Maybe take it slow for awhile, but noone should be happy she WANTS to get out completely.
