sorry, but i still think that she is a bad guy. i think she played the dumb card, and her completely qualified vet that told her she could sell the snakes that don't show signs of illness is OK? seriously?Cat_72 said:She was told that bleach would kill the virus. Not the decsion I would make....but she trusted him. After rethinking it, she changed her mind. If she was trying to "slip one by", would she have posted the ad here on Fauna where everyone who is so hot on her ass could read it?
Did you even READ half of this? SHE COULDN'T GET A RESPONSE FROM HIM LONG BEFORE SHE TRIED TO SELL THOSE SNAKES. Why is that so freakin hard to understand?
So what? Jen didn't have $15,000 to spend, and she provided all of the information she could to help EVERYONE in the herp community. I don't believe she had anywhere close to that amouint invested in her collection to begin with, so besides trying to save her pets, she chose to make all of this information public, instead of hiding it and sweeping it under the rug like those before her did. If those before her has spent that kind of money on research, shared the infomation with others, perhaps Jen would never have had to have done ANY of this. But it's because of the public reaction they would get (like your post and so many others) that inspired them to keep it hidden. She euthnized some of her own animals to try to get more information, yeah, that's strictly protecting hers.
Bullshit! If she really wanted to hurt the community, would she have told everyone she had it? Would it have made you feel better if she would have just kept on selling, not telling anyone? Not gone thru the time, money, and heartache of even contacting other countries looking for some help?
Again, one more time.....THERE WAS NO COMMUNICATION FROM HIM LONG BEFORE THE FIRST HALF OF THIS THREAD!!! She sought out other vets when she was getting no help from him! You would have preferred her to just sit back and do nothing? That would really be progress, huh? I hate to tell you, this is far from the biggest thing Dr. Jacobsen has to work on, and is very probablynot on his "high priority" list. Just because she sought out the aid of other vets, vets who are COMPLETELY QUALIFIED, she's done wrong?
Yep. I don't think it's right, but I completely understand why those who have gone through this before never opened their mouth.
The human race sucks.
how long was there no communication before they went against his advice to give the snakes the meds for the birds?
maybe the poor me act got me a little heated, i don't fall for that one. sorry, maybe i just hear it way too much, but the violins playing the sad song don't really piss me off. maybe i'm a jerk, but at least you will never see me trying to sell anything out of an infected colony with the advice of a vet who has been consistently wrong.
if this were anyone else that was not in the BP forum clubs, no one would be sticking up for her. it really sucks, and i know that you will most likely never see it, but you guys are in the wrong because people need to be held accountable.
