On October 24 I found a crested gecko on Jeremy Rupert's Facebook page that I had wanted to purchase. I asked him his price for it and shipping cost and on October 26 I sent him a payment in full. Hurricane Sandy happened shortly after and Jeremy, being located in Pennsylvania, had been affected by this hurricane and feared shipping the gecko out due to delays.
I was absolutely fine with this as I really appreciate a seller that cares for the welfare of their animals.
On December 3 shipping weather was finally acceptable for this gecko to be sent to me. Before he was sent, Jeremy kept in contact with me via e-mail for weather updates and had sent me more photographs upon my request of the gecko as well as an updated weight. December 4 the gecko arrived at 10:36 dead as a doornail in the deli cup.
Needless to say I was pretty devastated as this gecko was stable and healthy enough to have survived the trip; weather was great for shipping crested geckos. I e-mailed Jeremy promptly and sent the receipt from FedEx stating that I had received the package on time, took video and pictures of the deceased gecko and the packing conditions.
As soon as Jeremy arrived home from work he sent me a refund, determining that his death was not due to a shipping delay.
All in all I enjoyed my experience with Jeremy Rupert and would purchase from him again despite having a tragic outcome through this. He communicated well, his prices were excellent, and he was quick to resolve my issue. Rest in peace, beautiful Tomio.
