Info Jerron Helldorfer in Queen Creek, Az

I am an active and long term volunteer at PHS. This whole story is fishy and I am not sure if the kid is very confused, lieing, or does not understand basic hobby rules.

Here is all I can say:
-PHS very rarely adopts out full grown 0.1 Sulcata, we have close to 400 at the facility, males fight, females do not. So we always will adopt out a 1.0.
-PHS will not adopt out a sulcata to anyone under the age of 18 without parental signature. We have 400 examples of why this is needed, they are magnificient animals and great pets for the correct homes.
-PHS is very specific in the Contract:
"I agree to care for the above animal to the best of my ability. If at any time, I am unable to
provide the quality of care necessary, I will return the animal to The Phoenix Herpetological
Society (PHS). If there is any concern about the health or care of the animal, that I will contact a
veterinarian." "

-He swore that he did indeed adopt it from PHS, but cannot offer any proof. There is not resemblance of his name in the system at all, even tried similar like names.
-He did admit to flipping the animal, saying that he needed the money.

I did try to explain to him that it is unethical to take an animal from an accredited rescue and then sell it.

He has been removed as admin from the group.

Hard to post... I apologize! Who does something like this?

That is a direct violation of State Law, you are not allowed to in any circumstance breed a Desert Tortoise, only the original owners of animals pre-89 can do that, and they can only hold the hatchlings for 6months, and then they can only be gifted.

Thank you for posting Jon! You were impressive in that thread my friend!

good to know he has been removed. I have also been put back in the group. Which is not the reason for this BOI. The bottom line is if he indeed got this from PHS he broke his contract and lied about his age. Secondly IMO it is unethical to say that you rescued a tort had it for an entire 4 weeks "rehabbing" and then you are reselling said animal.

Ok talked to the Exec Curator. Jarron did in fact come to the site, him and his other underage friend were attempting to buy multiple tortoise and other animals. This is not the 1st rodeo for PHS and we get this quite a bit, so Dan really chewed into him, but he is a nice guy and felt bad, he educated Jarron into why what he is doing is wrong, and Jarron said he just wanted a pet. So we did allow his mother(different name) adopt a small MALE sulcata, which is not what Jarron is posting or trying to sell.

Jarron is certainly free to sell his Female since it did not come from PHS. But it seems he is entirely confused into what is what, and publicly stating he is trying to sell an adopted animal is certainly unethical. PHS will contact the mother on the matter, and Game Thief has his information into his desire to breed a protected species.

I'm still offended he asked me like that for a 25yr, in my possession, Tort. Errrrrrgggggh! My 5 DT's are written in MY WILL! That is all... Thank you for participating, or reading.

And, I apologize to you Lucille. Been getting a strange vibe from you lately, so I did what I did. And, you did what you did! See ya on the next one! ;)

Still waiting to hear from the kid, but if he was starting to fly wrong and this thread helps him fly straight, it's all good

That means a lot. I know a few like me, and a lot can't stand my harshness at times... Please just know I only have animals safety on my mind when I get to grinding somebody up.

Jerron was here and gone without a post because he has to be getting it through his young skull at this time. It took 25 people and all this to reach him though! That still scares me!

sometimes harsh is required when an animal's health/well-being is at risk.
If he thinks you were harsh, he may not like the AZ Game Warden if they show up and decide to put his desert tortoise under the microscope...

Ty Jon! I've found that being nice and cordial, barely works this day in age... Shred em to pieces, and they might, just might... Sit down later on and wonder what it was that warranted that. I honestly think shredding them up, works!
