In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry Jerry Boyd, JerryBoyd88, in "Woodstock, IL"

I thought on a hunch to google an Illinois driver's license, and this nearly confirms the pic with the mojo and license to be PS'd. I think that was why 'Jerry' blurred the ID and covered the pic.

I direct attention to the lower right hand corner mini-pic, that although blurred, is obviously the same person in the sample license. Sad, took me all of 15 seconds for an image; was one of the first pics listed:

http://i.usatoday.net/news/_photos/2008/01/10/DriversLicensex.jpg

comparing that to the one rcpreis posted:

http://i647.photobucket.com/albums/uu199/rcpreis3/mojobee.jpg

You will also notice the wavy lines in the sample ID that cross the name/address are missing through "Jerry's" info, meaning it was placed on top of the photo, and tells me this is a fake.

Also, the font is wrong; and the case is different at the bottom of "Jerry"'s ID than in the 'official' id: Jerry's is ALL CAPS, the sample ID is not. Also, does his id say his eyes are BWN?

That'd definately Photoshopped, or heck, maybe even just Paintbrushed, judging by how poor that jpg compression is. You can see the unusual pixels around the name where he overlayed the text, which is also probably why he made the image so small.

Not to mention, he blurred out the miniature photo in the bottom right corner as well, and removed the red and blue security lines. Is there a larger shot of his 'mojobee' pic at all? I'd love to look at it up closer if possible, part of my job description is finding fradulant IDs... (not that it's terribly difficult in this case, haha XD )

Wow, I feel like a moron for just looking at the pictures and completely skipping over what was already posted along with them. Disregard this - I made myself look really dumb just now!

Thanks for that info yesterday

Contacted Pass Christian post office and the house is vacant.

Like some, I jumped on the chance to pick up some females and sent $ 2650 after talking to "Jerry" on the phone.

USPS tracking stated package was not signed for and never picked up.

The gentleman at the local office is aware and currently holding my package for return.

Please contact him if you sent money...

P.s ---Post Master said it was a felony crime to have your male sent to someone eldes house? He Said, ''How would you retreive your mail''

Then said'' It is a Fedral offense to open someone else's mail box''

Ha ha! hope he shows to pick up his mail..

Those of us who read this thread & thought twice about sending this low life scammer their hard earned cash or anyone that was lucky enough to stop payment on their checks & money orders should seriously consider giving back a few bucks by becoming a Contributing Member of Fauna.

:iagree:
You know Mike I 100% agree! I honestly believe if it was not for the Rich Z and his "idea" the BOI, I do not believe there would be much interest in acquiring reptiles over the internet. There would still be the shows, but the availability of animals that the internet has allowed is staggering, it has created "hobbyests" where there were none before.
Now let's imagine that there are internet sales, but no BOI. So many scammers would be thriving in the market, but so many of us would have been "burned" there would be much less interest in internet sales.
Thinking back about 8 years, Ritchie Luna and the BOI exposed an up and coming "big time "scammer Jesse Underhill, He used stollen pictures ( from the boaphile no less) and was able to steal quite a bit of money before it came to light. Can you imagine the operation Chris Johnson would be running right now if not for the BOI? The thought is scary to say the least.
The BOI needs to be here to protect all of us from the jackals that would pounce and thrive on the people who enjoy this hobby. I would bet less than 1 in 1000 would stoop to deception and thievery, but for that 1 person, 999 trusting people would be fair game.
Anyone reading this thread who has not become a contributing member on fauna, click one of the coins near a members name, and it will take you to the info. page where you can become a member. I think a lot of us are struggling financially, but 7 cents a day for membership is money well spent!!:yesnod::D

Public apology to Russ Lawson Jr... Thought I was onto something there fer a split second.. Big apology....

Looks like I'm late to this thread too, as was the case when my name mistakenly popped up in the Chris Brandenburgh thread before this. No worries Tom. I'm just glad Harald was here to set things straight for you in my absence.

nothing

Ok i was given the phone number to "jerry" by JHMILLS and after several attempts no answers.I guess he does not want to talk to anyone now :shrug01:.It does come up to a cell phone in Woodstock Illinois though. One other thing you guys are correct on that DL its not what they look like now.Its phony just like jerry is

Yes...they "both" seem to have slipped back under the waters of the swamp that all such come from.

The sad thing is, it probably won't be very long before he tries to come back here with a new name. Unfortunatly for the rest of us, it seems most scammers don't give up too easily. :shrug01:

nope... they actually work harder to get their ill gotten gains than if they would just do an honest days work for an honest days pay.

Of course they won't give up easy. It's easy pickings as there's a lot of people willing to trust a stranger simply on their word.

A lot more that go to bat for someone that they don't even know. If I had that bent, I would have wiped out this place long ago, there's so many people that just won't use common sense.:reddevil:

Yes that is true. He is reading this right now probably, along with MANY other fledgling scammers trying to figure out what went wrong, they will come back, they will be "nicer", answer emails faster, have a fake (unverified) paypal acct, they will post photo shopped pictures of drivers licenses faster. they will not steal other peoples pictures, they will be harder to catch. Good references are hard to fake, so that is something we should all check. When Jerry posted his references, how many of us checked them? Unfortunately references will not always work, I would have given Clint Conner a good reference 3 weeks ago, he really let me down...Due diligence will pay off in the long run, while it may offend someone every now and then (don't ask Pete Kahl if he will provide references), But as the saying goes, "no sense closing the barn door after the horse have run off"
Let's make the rest of 2010 and 2011, Get rid of the scammers years!!
