    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Jerry Detwiler..."Con artist of the year award"

Had to add my say.  I have known Dave Derrick for a few years now and completely trust him.  I do NOT know Mr. Detwiler and can not say much either for or against him.  Never dealt with him and don't believe I will now.  All I can say is that Dave has never shown or hinted at any wrong doings with me or anyone else that I have sent to him.  I have had people looking for animals that I did not have or had never had.  If Dave had them I sent them to him.  I kept in touch to make sure Dave did them right, my rep. on the line too, and he did every time.  

I know that there is a lot of money on the line and that this sort of money can alter perceptions and character, but I just don't believe Dave would change that way.  He has done large deals before and always followed through.  


Here's my hope, tha Dave and Jerry Detwiler would get together and work this out themselves.  Many of our customers are finding this Borad Of Inquiry and are then turned off purcahes from ACTUAL breeders because what they read.  They don't see our community for what it is they just see our public displays of angst and distrust.  IE. "If they would screw each other, why not me".  We will all lose some sales to local petshops at 2x the price just for the safety of "seeing" the sellers face and "knowing" where they are.  I am sorry Mr. detwiler, Dave is my friend and I truly trust him.  PLEASE try to work this out in an UN public forum so we can all do "our thing" here.  

I issue a challenge,  both of you call me at (804) 763-4443 and let me try to help.  Dave is my friend, but I believe I am a partial body here.   di breed and sell reptiles, but not really for money so I cannot be swayed by lucrative deals or nasty bad mouthing.  I just don't care.  Our culture's integrity is at stake.  PLEASE allow me to help.  It is not binding just friendly!!
 
I don't like this any more than anyone else, but some of the greatest lies are 90% truth! Dave keeps on about a dishonored check that I did not pay. The truth is the snake was returned after being medically treated for internal parasites! He sold it to some other person. I have a 72 hour return policy. He now claims the snake is ugly. He e mailed me regarding how nice it is and now months and months later its ugly? I asked for a copy of the paid shipping bill that Dave said his Father recieved and was owed, the next thing I was told  was , His father paid it and now I need to send him half. Still no copy of the bill. He tried to send something froh his dads once but it did not open, I e mailed him regarding this and the next thing I know my e mail is frozen due to the file that didn't open, it was sent 15 times. If it didn't open the first time sending it 15 more times without correcting the problem won't fix it. Over the years I thought Dave and I had become friends, He now talks like I used 3 years of my life to burn him on a Hypo Boa. I even sent Dave a few free snakes on several occassions. Mr. Detwiler,I sent you a copy of the airbill "snail mail" after you said you couldn't open it.
You left a message on my machine to get in touch with Airbourne and give em you account #,which I do NOT have, PLUS, you had me ship to your mommies who's not a registered member with ABE
I even contacted ABE and tried to reverse the   billl , I e mailed you repeativly and simply said, "are you gonna pay 1/2 yes or no"? I sent this e mail repeativly with no reply.
 YOU sure can come up with an awful lot of crap Jerry.........just like your deals................crap !

Dude, I sent you a berm,a boa and a ball python that was a rescue. The shipment went to my ( Mommies) because that is where I was on that day. Why don't you tell them why Airborne Express has to deliver to your Dads and won't to your address! You are non stop!...You never sent an Airbill. Why don't you just post it so I for sure get it! I guess Mr. Derrick expects the BOI to believe that that is a pic of the Hypo that he recieved from me over 7 months ago and waited until now to complain about it. I can't believe this guy. Furthermore, I explained to the Forum in a post what caused the check to be dishonored, it was a double charge to my account via Paypal. This double charge froze my checking account because there was not enough money in it to cover a double charge.form Paypal. The snake that that check was wrote out for arrived with a bad parasite infection that caused it to puke. It was treated and sent back to Mr. Derrick. He further tries to defame me by stating I get wild caught snakes from Florida. This is a complete LIE! I do not, nor have ever delt in wild caught snakes! He talks as if I am mud slinging but his his drug use and drinking and domestic violence goes directly towards this guys state of mind. The little inuendos about other breeders I don't understand. I hope some of you can see my frustation with the situation. The events in question are all  twisted, That is why this must go through ths courts.  I cannot tolorate his Liabel and defamation. It is twisted and false. Thank you, everyone.

Sorry it turned out bad for you... guess you should have payed attention to my posts! If you go back and read them now you will see what a bad liar Jerry (AKA Gerald) is. He has burned many, many people you are not alone.

OK, to preface this I should say that I DO NOT know Dave and have never done business of any kind with him. I was emailed by him about this thread and decided to check it out. I did not read all the thread because it is really a joke. I don't care who beats their wife or shoots heroin, blah, blah, blah.
I have one issue to address and one only. Jerry Detwiler, One World Reptiles, AKA Gerald, (only uses his first name on classifieds now) Canopy Creations.
First, Jerry is a dishonest person. I am only saying what happened to me and many others. He lies, not just a little but if he is talking to you... he is lying. If you are reading his posts, he is lying. The guy is a liar. I am not going to debate this issue, it is really very well known.
It took him over 18 months to refund my money from a scam he pulled on me. Not only did he not send me an animal that I paid him for but other animals were sexed wrong. I won't argue it again, see the old BOI for all the details.
Jerry did send me a check, after spinning a great web of lies. (many behind my back, I heard all about it Jer) The refund check that was 18 months in the making bounced. (I think it was for $250 or close to that) His excuse then, his wife paid for Direct Tv and did not tell him about the check. I have never bounced a check. One, because I have charactor and two because I do not live my life in such a way that my accounts are THAT tight. (if you have that little cash might I suggest getting rid of Direct TV)
So Jerry did end up paying me what he owed. (after 18 months and lots of bitching) He still sent me wrong sexed animals. So is he a bad guy, yes. He is a nice guy, I will give him that. I thought Jerry was one of the good guys. He started out very cool, but then screwed me.
I am sure that in a few months we will see more "victims" coming here with their horror stories. If you are thinking about buying stuff from Jerry ask yourself a simple question; is it worth the risk? He has screwed me after other good transactions with him, when will it be your turn? He has shown a history of lies and bounced checks, is it worth it? With all the other people out there is it really worth it to send your hard earned money to someone so questionable? I don't think so. I am not going to argue, the facts are all there. Read my old posts if you like.

BTW- Jerry told me about hand picking WC stuff from companies in FL. I think he is lying about not selling WC. He told me he gets it, I assumed he was selling it.
 
I see now since Jerry Detwiler/ canopy creations has been "found out".............He (Gerald) doesn't have anything else to say all of a sudden.Wonder why? Especially after someone else,in TX got conned, just like I did from Jerry Detwiler

how is this episode going. After reading this thread and seing Mr.Detwilers types of responses I kind of put him in the guilty colum , has he ever took you to court or was a guilty threat to try and shut you up. well anyways let us know. thanks Paul Mckinley

I am not sure as to why you would mention me in your post? I have done business with Jerry in the past and my family members have nothing to do with any of it. The animals I have bought from Jerry Have always been top quality. There have been a few times that the sexes were wrong but Jerry always made good on this. If I ever had a problem with anything from him he kept his word and fixed things. As far as spending alot of money with him, that I never did. I do not like to be called a piegon. The hypos I purchased from him were always market value. None of them have ever been misleading I would go to his house and see them in advance of purchase. It sounds to me like maybe you guys need to settle things. And as far as things go I purchased one of your hoggs from him a while back ( at least he said it was one from you) just because of how pretty she was. And I still have her as a pet. And in future reference for any reason if you need to ask me somthing just email me, I will anwser them as best I can before you post my name. thanks Bill Green
