Hello all,
I wanted to share my experience with Jesse Van Atta from Foreverboas.com who also goes by Sojourn on kingsnake.
I recently purchased a 2011 Ivory/Red group salmon male from him off of a posting from this website and couldn't be more pleased. Jesse is a top notch guy to deal with, the transaction went smoothly, and the picture did the animal no justice even though Jesse is a great photographer and posts multiply high resolution pics of his animals.
The Details:
Communication:
After calling Jesse and leaving a message he called me back within the hour while he was at work. He is very polite and professional and I never felt rushed to get off the phone with him. Before shipping the snake he emailed AND called me to confirm somebody would be home to receive the animal and to ask if I had any questions. He asked that I give him a call once Fedex dropped off the snake so that he knew the animal was ok, which I did. I thought it was great that he asked me to keep him up to date on the snake as it matures because he is genuinely interested in his animals (I will speak on this more later). Shipping:
Jesse goes above and beyond with his shipping methods. Box is marked " HARMLESS LIVE REPTILES". Upon opening the box another label marked with the same thing is the first thing you see along with a receipt for the sale. Written on the receipt is the lineage of your animal which you can do plenty of research on at Foreverboas.com because Jesse keeps great records with excellent pics of all his litters so you can see what the parents and grandparents look like. He places the snake inside a hard plastic container that cannot be crushed with a moistened paper towel and a bit of shredded newspaper. Keeps the dehydration at bay and if the animal is in shed will also help with that. TOP KNOTCH SHIPPING!...
The animal:
What can I say? This guy produces some top shelf snakes. He has smokin bloodlines and superior husbandry skills and his animals show it. Jesse is a small breeder so he can really focus on specific projects. I can guarantee any snake obtained from him will not disappoint. The fact that he asked me to make sure I send him pics as the snake matures shows he cares. He put a lot of work into producing these animals and I'm sure it's hard to say goodbye to them. My snake is much better than the pictures and is in outstanding health.

Overall I would say that guys like Jesse Van Atta are the people I like to do business with. The small, highly passionate breeders that really do care about the animals and the people they sell them to. I would, without a doubt, do business with him again in the future...
