In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I dont think you read enough

i have stated several times

im not hiding behind "im just a kid"

thanks for the advice

You've been hiding behind that ideology since you've started posting. Just because you claim to have "given it up" does not mean that you're not still ACTING that way. (Because you CLEARLY are, and I've read more than enough to see that)

awwww

Come on, Harald...he's just a kid!
His response just shows that this leopard does not have the maturity level to have changed his spots. I, for one, will avoid doing business with him in person or otherwise, even if he ever grows up.

Way to try to get out of this unscathed, Jesse.
very mature, too

Sorry Jesse but you are acting badly for some one who was already on the thin line.If I ever got as disrespectful with my elders as you have here, my dad would have knocked me out.No more funny faces no wise guy remarks, face the music it's all you can do!

And I would bet some of the people making remarks are not so perfect either. We all make mistakes growing up ,you owned up to what you did ,thats a plus ,now show everyone who you really are.

You are absolutely right; it's the whole 'glass house' thing. The difference is, (and judging by your last comment are you leaning towards agreeing?) that he is not mature enough to deal with the repercussions of his actions.
It looks like he has shown us who he really is, what with the "obscenity laced" pm & his posted reply to Harald.
It has been said many times on various threads on the BOI: the difference between a good guy and a bad guy is not how they handle the transactions that go well, it's how they handle the ones that don't!

One of my best friends taught me to be tolerant with teens, he has 8 kids and he's also said most teens forget how to engage their brain before they open their mouth.I was less colorful in that statement than my friend would have been !Again I did not mean to ruffle anyones feathers.

In all fairness to Jesse, his PM was quite mild compared to many...and if he was approaching me based solely on my activity in this thread, I wouldn't have bothered commenting. As it happened, though, he was addressing me in my capacity as a moderator of this site.

like i said yesterday... a MAN has his word & his B@LLS & you have proven to me & others im sure that whatever age you are you are untrustworthy.so did you think that you may get more business if unknowing customers believed you were of legal age? maybe they would feel more comfortable doing business with someone who would be able to be held accountable for their actions in a court of law if necessary?
and what made you "realize that paying the money back was the right thing" now all of the sudden? Freudian slip? if you would have shown some class & respect to the guy & just shipped it the way you were supposed to or refunded the money within a fair time period, that little boy, would have been the right thing. IMO YOUR A PUNK! i read about you cryin about being a kid in another boi not even 3 weeks ago! but your NOT hiding behind the im a kid thing right?remember the more lies you tell the harder it is to remember who you told what lies.Grow up & STOP claiming your a changed person.dude it took you a year to refund 33.75? & you shout to the world that you are great cause you paid him back... a year later....when you realized you should...when he pmd you telling you that you owed him something... but you are a stand up guy... a genuine class act. im sure straightening out that debt was worrying you so much, you can tell by the way you handled it in the beginning from your blackberry. its only 30 dollars, grow up & get over it is what you said to the ADULT you scammed for 33.75. do i understand it right CHIEF? ridiculous

Again I state that I feel a 16 year old has no business doing business here, IMO. Perhaps through a parent, but not on their own. A minor cannot legally enter into a contract, so where does that leave someone when he decides to pull a big one? He's already shown several times that his attitude sucks. An old saying about leopards and spots comes to mind.

Although I respect your opinion, I do not agree. I've been in multiple animal hobbies since I was very young without help from parents, and I've kept my good name. I think it depends on the person, not the age. Again, JMPO. I've been told I'm wise beyond my years though, so maybe it is just me?

In all fairness, my post had nothing to do with the level of maturity. Please reread what I said if that is all you got from it.

It had to do with deals adding up into potentially thousands of dollars, with one person not being a legal adult.

That's great that everything went well for you when you selling animals as a minor, but what if something didn't? What if someone thought an animal you sold them was dying and their vet told them that as well, but you didn't believe it was your husbandry?
What could they do to get their money back?
They would try to go after your parents, that's it.
If they couldn't then they would've been "stuck" with no recourse...not the best way to do business....
Earlier I posted I would never purchase from a minor...and that is true...but If I knew and or had talked to their parents and felt comfortable with their involvement I would purchase from them if they had bred some nice animals....I wouldn't buy from a minor "flipper" though.
PS) Nice website! Was that Blood "Wiggler" sold to the same Jesse as this thread is about?

Reading the part that made me respond, it looks like (to me) that you are saying young people shouldn't do business here, on Fauna. This part.

Again I state that I feel a 16 year old has no business doing business here, IMO.

Maybe I interpreted that wrong, and that is quite possible, but I don't think I am the only person who could get that idea from that statement :D If you truly meant what you just said, I apologize for being dense. I had a long day!

To answer your first question - if an animal ended up sick (which never happened, BTW!) I fully refunded their money OR gave them a replacement animal of their choice. My parents never got involved, because it was never necessary and they have absolutely no interest in animals.

Now, to answer your second question. Yes that Blood Python is the Blood Python in this thread. When Matt first found me and told me the story, I was very upset about it. I think this was a very bad situation, and Jesse (admittedly so) was in the wrong. Are Jesse and I friends? Yes we are. We've done business a couple times, and from talking to him through email and in person, I know he would never do this again. I know it has only been 12 months or so since this incident, but no one can put a limit on how much growth a person can have mentally in that period of time. He realized he was wrong and wants a name for himself, so we'll just have to see if he can really do that. I think he can, but that is my opinion. Now I'm not saying we should all forget this incident, because that isn't true. That is why it is good it is here on the BOI. I think it being posted may give him that much more of a reason to change. I could be wrong about him, but so could everyone else. Only time will tell.

Your earlier post to me referenced maturity level. What you are questioning now is different.

No, I don't think people under 18 should be doing business here. Not because I don't think they're mature enough. Not because I have some personal vendetta against the kids (I was one once), but because if something happens and they decide to ignore it there's not a darn legal thing that can be done. I won't buy from a minor, and I won't sell to them, either. Mom and Dad yes, Junior no. But that's just me, and it's my opinion. Just like everyone else here can have. I doubt staff is going to run and ban the under-age young'uns just based on what one person thinks.

Hope that clears up what I was trying to say.

Thanks for clearing that up :) I can see where you are coming from, and although I was a responsible minor, I don't think I would buy from one if shipping was involved. In person, yes, but not with shipping. I'm too weary of shipping in the first place, lol.

You Really don't get it do you Jesse?

The way you have conducted yourself in this thread show potential future customers hohw you can and will conduct yourself should they ever have a problem with a purchase or trade from you.

They way you've acted in this thread really doesn't paint a picture of the mature, responsible buisiness man , claim to have turned into.

Are these childish/abusive repsonses indicative of an honest, reasonable, dependable business man who will stand behind his word and his animals or those of a petty, unreasonable person thats likely to be hard to work with through problems?

I'm complete ignoring your age, the issue of minors selling etc personally, I lthink that is clouding the issue. You used to use the "i'm a kid" card and now other people are concentrating on exactly that issue. While it is important I think people are forgetting something.

when we were younger were we all irresponsible people who would over charge for shipping then ship a sick snake by less than perfect means? when we hit a certian age, 17? 18? 21? do we suddenly become repsonsible seller who treat animals and customers correctly and fairly? When your nuts drop do you get some sort of moral and character upgrade? Become and honest and trustworthy person?

Forget about minors selling, thats not the issue. It's the person, not his age.

i think Judge Judy stated it best in a case, when she said, "do you know how many teenagers ive raised?" the defendant said, "no ma'am". Judy said, "alot". Judy said, "do you know how many of them told the truth?". the defendant said, "no ma'am". Judy then said "zero". i think we all as teenagers thought we could talk and scam our way out of anything, we didnt know any better. mr. wisecup needs to step out of the business, and any business for that matter, go to school, and learn about himself and the real world. then, hopefully after some years of personal and life growth, he can get back into what he really loves to do, breed and sell reptiles. i just would hope that he has the morals and ethics to do the right thing, which is go out and see the world, and find who you really are. i believe that people can change from being stupid, know it all teenagers, as i was one, to being good adults who adapt well in society, as i have. i did some stupid, ungodly things when i was younger, now im 32 and have alot more respect for myself, my fellow human beings, and the world. maybe thats what he needs, is to just step out for a while and grow.
