• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Jessee Fricker AKA tail shaker (BAD?)

I see your point, but Jesse thought he could ship late in the day with heat packs and she would only be in transit 18 hrs and it would be ok to do. Like I said I am new and have never shipped an animal before. I still don't see how an animal makes it in good weather with all the throwing of packages the shipping companies do. Maybe Jesse was trying more than he should to make me happy....I don't know. A little communication would go a long way and some reassurance that I'm not gonna be ripped off.

I live in PA and can tell you it has been extremely cold over the last two weeks and shipping a reptile via ground carrier right now would be suicide for the animal. Just this week, schools have been closed for two days and delayed a third because it is too cold for buses to operate.

Even if the seller wanted to ship, if I were you, I would tell him to wait until March. Based on experience, that is about the time when night time lows are high enough to allow it, with heat packs of course.

Im suprised your getting a refund

I gotta say your lucky to be getting a refund, in most cases purchases are final...if there is a prob with the animal to be purchased it is usually resolved by giving credit on another animal. The only problem I really see with what jesse did was to state a delivery date, not deliver, and then not immediatly contact you. Living in New york I can def vouche that the weather has not been good in this part of the country over the last few weeks. I dont like the way you basically blackmailed him with bad feedback on the forums in order to get your refund :NoNo: I would suspect that the reason you got your refund was because he wanted the transaction to be over as much as you do

I have not received a refund. I am not trying to blackmail him either. I wanted to know if anyone has delt with him and how the transaction went. I will admit I was and still am very leary of the whole deal. I am preparred now to receive the Crested as I got another tank to keep her in. I still have the two I bought also in another tank. I didn't state anything that was not true. Now I think he is mad at me for not being patient, but I kept getting excuse after excuse for not shipping. If I took someone's money I wouldn't keep making excuses for not shipping if I said I felt I could ship. That is what bothers me. And yes I just wanted to back out of the deal and get my money back. So far I have not gotten anything......even an email.

Jerry

I talked to Jesse on the phone in the beginning and he really sounded like a good guy. I can understand him being p!ssed at me. But how long should you wait until you start to ask questions about someone? Sure I asked for a refund, haven't gotten it. I have never bought a reptile online in my life. I don't know what the protocol is. I don't know what is too cold to ship. I'm not an idiot, but I rely on what someone who has shipped before tells me they can do. When that doesn't happen then I start to get concerned.

Ok I sent this on 2-12-07 "Hey Jesse,

I am gonna leave you alone. All that I ask is to please let me know a couple of days before you ship so I can make sure where she is going to be delivered.

Thanks

Jerry Foster"

I have yet to hear from Jesse. I guess that may mean I won't see a refund or get the Crested that I paid in full for.

Jerry

I have to agree about waiting and having some patience and understanding where the weather is concerned. I don't believe you should have tagged the title of the thread as "BAD" either. Can you blame the guy for being a little upset that you posted a bad guy thread about him, when he was apparently doing the right thing for the animal?

I have made people wait before. And for more reasons than just weather. Sometimes things happen. But I communicated this, and think that Jesse should also. He was here this morning early, don't know why he didn't respond. I'm sure he got the link. :shrug01:

I didn't label him as bad. Maybe I should have put "bad/good?" I put "bad?". I meant I was asking is he bad or good. Any way I am done. If Jesse wants to email me to let me know what is going on that is fine. I really think he has written me off.

Jerry

Where's Jesse?

I didn't label him as bad.

Actually you did label him as bad in the title. Unfortunately for him, Jesse's lack of response, or attempt at a resolution, lends credence to that moniker. Too bad too, because he could have easily resolved this to everyone's satisfaction.

he did put a question mark after it, and that was easy enough for me to decipher further that it was an Inquiry/Question where someone was. Besides, Jesse has not given him the goods, so its not too far off from being wrongly posted either! ^_-

I think he did OK on the title. The fact that jesse is not responding is kind of silly, especially since hes been active on the site. :shrug01: Own up Jesse. Things could get ALOT uglier for you later down the road if you dont! :NoNo:

Come on Jesse a little communication can go a long ways. No communication makes you look like someone I don't want to do business with.

I have to agree with everyone else here. Personally I bought a sub-adult bearded dragon the middle of January and because of the weather, I have not recieved her yet. This particular situation is the exact same thing. My supplier is in California and I am in North Carolina. Even though I have had some nice days throughout my wait, the rest of the country did not. I still don't have my dragon, but I have the patience to wait because I want her to be as safe as possible. Proper packing avoids injuries through shipping with the way "shippers throw packages around" I ship all the time, and my packing in correct for this. So far I haven't lost an animal through shipping (knock on wood). A little patience goes along way this time of year. Some breeders are pickier then others because they want their animals to be safe. I see nothing wrong with this. I do agree that Jesse does need to reply to you on a regular basis for your peace of mind. No word from him is not a good thing. A little advice also, never pay by western union, you are only asking for trouble.

"Inquiry" is the term most often used around here when you are inquiring about someones practices. Just for future reference.

I believe you didn't intend to label him bad guy in the literal sense, but the word does stand out. Of course, Jesse ain't helping any with his silence either, and I agree this did appear to be an easily solvable situation, but not by hiding from it.

I wish you luck, and hope you get your animals in good shape.

Jesse, you need to respond, in the right or not, silence is not making you look good at all.

Ok I looked on www.weather.com and see it's going to be 45 today in his area and emailed him and asked him to ship today. It's going to be in the 60's in Memphis this week. Is that ok weather to ship? We will see if he even replies to my email. He also has some days that will be that warm or warmer this week in his area.

Jerry

The LOW temps are what you need to worry about. I don't know what his policy is, but some will not ship if the lows will fall below 40 degrees.....some ship regardless, unless the temps are extremely cold. If they are well-packed, the temps may be OK.....but it does depend on his policies.

I still haven't heard from Jesse. He is not replying to emails in over a week now.

I think you need to relax and occupy your time with something else for about a month. Jesse is probably getting tired of your multiple emails. It was suggested before by others that you be patient and yet you continue to email him about shipping. No wonder he is ignoring you. Your lack of patience makes me want to avoid you.

Regarding weather conditions, you need to be concerned about the night time lows, not how warm it is forecasted during the day. You should also wait until the temps are consistently tolerable for shipping, not just look for a single day when they might be ok. As I mentioned, I live in PA. In my opinion, I would not consider shipping anything until late March.

Yup. That's a decent summation. Not to be rude, but if you were sending me that much mail after purchasing one of mine, I would have long since refunded your purchase, and asked you to go elsewhere.

Try to understand. When your Boa is shipped, it may sit in a cold warehouse hub until taking a flight to another cold warehouse hub, than onto a oftentimes cold delivery truck with no climate control, which is lucky to have a heater for the driver.

Speaking for myself. If I am going to guarantee live and healthy arrival, with a money back guarantee, than I am going to do what I can to make sure that guarantee is fulfilled. Even if it causes some discomfort to my client. Otherwise, I would be refunding every purchase, and making nothing, but still putting out for the shipping. This can get pretty costly in the long run. Think about it.

Hope that helps.
Rick
