Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Jim Stelpflug of Southwest Wisconsin Reptiles is a great guy!!!

First of all, it doesn't matter that you returned the animal once yours started breeding. What matters is that Jim Stelpflug sent you the male Pastel without asking for anything in return. This goes to show that Jim cares very much about his customers and their success. If he didn't care, he wouldn't have sent you the male Pastel in the first place. As for the mis-sexed animal, that was obviously an honest mistake. It happens to everyone, even the front runners in the business. Rather you were posting on your account or someone elses account, you should have talked to Jim about this matter first. I can assure you that he would have done more than enough to make it right. This is just my opinion, but I think that you'll find that many people will agree with me.

Did I say he didn't care about his customers? No jackass.

He didn't send it, I picked it up :)

This was the first mis-sexed animal I EVER received. And what made it worse was that I traded it to someone who wanted it and got their hopes up only to have them crushed because this animal was mis-sexed. So he probably thinks I'm unreliable and possibly a scammer now because I traded him a valued $100 (or less) snake for a $250 pair of Timor Monitors.

And just as a side note, I do have other snakes from Jim.

When I was first getting into ball pythons he cut me a cut deal on a pair of 05 Het Albinos. I love both those snakes to death and wouldn't trade them for anything. The male has never refused a meal and is a stud. The female only eats during the summer/fall months and last year was her first year breeding but unfortunately slugged out.

I also have a Spider P/H Ghost from him that eats great (an the only mouse eater in my collection) and was breeding for a little while last year before I discontinued him.

So in no way am I saying Jim is a bad guy and no one should buy off him. I'm just pointing out I got a mis-sexed animal from him. For every some 100 positive things about someone, there is usually one negative thing. Unfortunately I was on the negative side for once.

So in no way am I saying Jim is a bad guy

So now I am not a bad guy? But this morning when you signed on under someone else's name, and slandered me. Then I was a bad guy?

After doing some checking. You did not get any snakes from directly in 2007. Your last purchase from me would have been in 2006. I would like you to bring the snake to me this weekend. You have said you are going to be at Tinley Park this weekend. I do keep photo ID`s on a lot of animals.

If you would like to talk to me more about this? I will be in Tinley Park again this year. Like I have been since the show started. I will not comment on this matter anymore with you until then.

I traded an 07 het albino female for two timor monitors then found out it was a male. Jim, I attempting calling you but never got an answer. So I just left it.

Do you not double check the sexes on your animals shortly after you get them? How long did you have the ball python before doing the trade?

Not before then. Like I said, that was the first mis-sexed snake I ever had. Every other snake I bought, if it was male, I believed the seller. When the males (not many) are big enough, I toss them with a female and that's that. Females, same thing, I toss a male with them and wait for eggs. Now I check every snake. Every other snake I bought as male is male and every snake I bought as female is female.

I'd love to had I not sold it. I had no need for another het albino male.

Where does it say I think you're a bad guy?

ANYONE can make a mistake in sexing an animal. It happens. Especially if you picked the animal up, it should have been double-checked, by you, at that time, before completing the purchase - I'm sure Jim would not have been offended had you done so.

And you cannot blame Jim for your irresponsibility in not making sure the animal was indeed a female before sending it out in trade.

Maybe the seller (referring to any seller) should double check their animals before advertising them for what they are. The buyer pays for what they see/want. They should not have to double/triple/quadruple check an animal. I sex the snakes I hatch about three times. After they come out of the egg, after their first shed, and before I put them up for sale. So someone does not buy a mis-sexed snake off me and come back to me all pissed off.

Yes they should, and many times do. Mistakes CAN still happen, though they shouldn't.

It still does not excuse the fact that YOU should have checked the snake before YOU traded it off, so you wouldn't have had the person who received it come back to you all :censored: off.

Of course you should double check the sex shortly after purchase when you buy a reptile. Reptile Keepers aren't machines; they make mistakes sometimes. We see these types of threads here a few times a year and they just annoy me. I guess I just don't understand why a herper would not double check the sex of an animal they acquire for breeding purposes right away or at least within a few weeks. Especially ball pythons, sometimes they are hard to pop as hatchlings and get missexed as female.

I'm sorry I trusted someone to sell me an animal that is properly sexed, especially when all the other ones I got off him were. From now on, I will assume everyone that I buy off is selling me a mis-sexed animal.

I've never mis-sexed a ball python before selling. Right out of the egg, they are hard to sex; females get re-sexed for sure. After their first shed, they are easy to sex. Before I sell them is just a precaution.

As far as you know, you haven't. There could be someone out there that bought a "female" from you 3 years ago, and is just waiting to throw "her" in with a male this season.....and will figure it out then.

Cripes man, we're HUMAN, we make mistakes. ALL of us.

No, I keep contact with 98% of people I've sold to. Most of the people are on forums I am registered on. They keep close contact and have sexed snakes themselves and they are the correct sex.

And I've never sold a female ball before. I'm greedy and keep all of them.

Actually I take that back. I traded three female ball pythons for my cinnamon pastel male. All were correctly sexed by me.

We might as well stop posting. This is going to go back and forth..

"You should have double checked the sex"

"I shouldn't have to being that I bought that sex and the seller mis-sexed it"

"You still should have checked yourself"

Back and forth..........

The only one who looks like a "jackass" is you. What you are implying is that Jim does not care for his customers. You won't just admit that this was an honest mistake and move on. By the way, I just meant that Jim sent the animal to you on breeding loan. Not shipped it to you. You could have picked it up, but Jim still SENT the animal to your house. I honestly think that every potential customer of Jim's that reads this post will see it for what it is, just an honest mistake started by someone in need of attention.

Please show me where I say he does not care about his animals you stupid tard. Don't tell me what I'm implying, you don't know shit about me.

Yeah that's right, I NEED attention. I just CRAVE it! I can't live without it.

The one's who are making a big deal out of this are yous. All I said was he simply mis-sexed a snake. Done, over! But no, you's have to go bashing me about it's MY fault for trusting him that he properly sexed the snake.

Had this been me sending him a mis-sexed snake, yous probably would have been all over me about how I am a scammer and that it's easy to sex a snake.

But no, since he has a good reputation and I mentioned he mis-sexed a snake of mine I'm the one to blame.
