    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Is it just me or is Mi a place where alot of people are ripping off others?
I had my own Mi issues and just wont buy from that state.
I hope you get him and prosecute to the fullest! This is just a shame people will do this to others.
Sorry you are having these issues so close to the holidays and your kids are getting some serious life lessons.

On top of all this, after seeing the Spider Ball yesterday, it appears to have IBD!

It was doing the typical lifting it's head up and falling over backwards. It is having difficulty even holding it's head up right.

A visit to the vet is being arranged.
 
Thank you, I do Plan on going after Jim and Emily soon, I have plenty of time to file and am getting all of my ducks in a row b4 I do. As for my kids, it was hard for them but I'm planning on getting them a butter or lesser when I have a chance. We also can't say thank you all enough for everyone's support. I'm sorry you had a bad experience in MI, but don't give up hope on all the people there, I've had allot of good experiences and met allot of good people there as well. It just sucks that a few bad people ruin it for the rest.
 
It does make it hard to want to buy.Every time i do Jim,i go through the bad feelings until i get the boa.It seems alot of people are doing this hobby wrong.
I know there are some good people in Mi,i just think everyone there is the guy who ripped me off.

That sounds like normal spider ball morph "wobble." It varies from spider to spider, but please, please do a little research on it.

Search youtube for spider wobble videos. Just don't let anyone euth it right away over IBD concerns.

I am not a stranger to IBD having dealt with a Burm Collection in the early 80's that was infected and a friends Boa Collection about 4 years ago.

My vet is one of the top reptile vets in the country. Not only do I have complete trust in him, but if the snake really does have IBD he will document this and it will add one more nail to Jim's coffin.
 
Oh no, no that's fine. I just want to make sure you are aware this an extremely common problems associated with this gene. Get it vet checked for sure.

I have a pet only spider ball that moves in constant cork screws, but he eats normally and is has an awesome personality. The wobble can manifest is really extreme ways.

Sound's like Jim not only screwed them, but sent them a very bad wobbling spider to boot.
 
Snake Jim Taliaferro sent us just died.

I'm sad to say, the spider ball python he sent us ( not the blue eyed lucy he was supposed to send us) just died. My daughter cried all day, she really loved that snake. We did everything we could to save it, but it just failed to thrive. Here are the picture's my daughter took a few weeks before it died. The picture's say it all. My only hope is that Karma will catch up to him, hopefully sooner than later.

Has anyone knocked on his door. If I were there I would and I'm all of 110lbs. Please please please someone pay him a visit. After the tortise death thread now this? He will continue ;-(
 
I certainly would never purchase from this individual. Seeing the condition of this beautiful snake and his shipping methods for those two Torts makes my stomach turn. This guy clearly has a total lack of empathy I'm sorry the snake passed away and that this happened. I hope they don't get discouraged!!
 
:censored: I wish I had business there. What seems a lil more eff'd up to me is that it's doesn't seem he's even tryin to fake a business (rescue tortoise stuff a lil to help his scam) but that he's just a guy (a bad guy) that even the cops shrug off. Killing animals just to make a few bucks. I can see the pain in those pictures and it broke my heart. I hope all those pics are circulated with all corospondance with LE and animal groups.

I'm sorry...but what? I understand not doing business with certain people because of a history of bad transactions but to cut out a whole state like that? There are bad deals made in every state...but to completely avoid business with people from MI because there were a few bad eggs in the bunch seems a little extreme to me.

To avoid bad deals, you have to look for red flags and take a very close look at who you are buying from or selling to, not making judgements based off of their location. I've noticed a lot of BG threads about people and businesses in FL; doesn't mean I'm going to turn my nose up if I see someone that has a snake I'm interested that's coming out of FL. It just boggles my mind that someone can think like this...
 
Selling stolen snakes on Craigslist?

Well he's at it again, now he's trying to sell the snakes he STOLE from us. Thanks to everyone for all the call's and e-mail letting me know. I just wanted to spread the word so he couldn't rip do this to someone else. He's also reading this thread, he texted me several times rubbing my face in the fact the spider ball python he sent us died, he actually took great joy in that fact. It's funny how he can't post on any of the major players websites, kind of hard to fence stolen snakes isn't it Jimbo. I just wish i could put a link on craigslist that would forward them to the BOI next to his ad.

I made a note of the date and found the ad and flagged it. Sorry I couldn't do more.
 
If we all act together we could keep him off CL. Flag him off and then check back once a day or so. How many people could be selling Albino Rattlesnakes in Detroit on CL?
If he can't sell on CL and the community knows to be on the watch for these unusual snakes, he might have a hard time selling them.
 
BTW you can run ads in CL saying what you need to say until they get flagged off. Make an ad telling people to be on the lookout and include a link to here.
If you are courteous you will not be flagged very quickly and the local herp community might get an eyeful after they follow the link.
