• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Recently put up an add on fauna classifieds looking for a sub adult axanthic iguana and got a response by someone's email name "John Dillard" his email was [email protected] I was so happy because I've been looking for one for over a year now and the price of $290 was perfect. Sent him the money over PayPal to an account [email protected] I thought it was odd that the name accounts didn't match up but I didn't think anything of it really. I have had other close friends in the hobby that have told me to send to their wife/ girlfriends pay pals so I thought the same here. I sent over the money, he delayed shipping for a week and said the following Monday would work (due to weather issues) I agreed and he never shipped it or emailed me back or anything.. Haven't heard from him in 2 weeks and I have emailed him countless times regarding the situation. Pretty stupid of me to trust someone I didn't know, but really? How many internet scammers scam using big blue lizards?? I've definitely learned from this one and am counting on getting that $290 back!

People scam using any opening they find.
Hopefully you weren't foolish enough to send the money via the gift option. As long as you paid via Goods & Services, you should have no difficulty getting your money returned. File a non receipt claim. (Do it now)
