    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

right now i want to heat 4 cages, 2 ball python and 2 borneo stp. i need different temps for both, so i have 2 options:
2 johnsons/rancos
or 1 herpstat II
which one has best feedback?
thanks

The JC A419 vs Herpstat is like pitting apples vs oranges...they are two different animals. If you want a proportional Tstat with some bells & whistles, go with the Herpstat 2; if you're content with an on/off, go JC. You can easily buy 2 JC A419s for what the Herpstat 2 will cost you...and have about $50 to spare (if pricing is a factor for you). I don't have a Herpstat 2, but I have a few Herpstats in use...I run as many of those as I do A419s, lol - Both are great units that will serve you well.

Don't base your decision strictly on price - there are a number of differences between the two...figure out which one best suits your needs & desires, and go with that.

I've been using the Johnson Controls throughout my snake building for racks, AC units, radiator heaters, and cooling fans. I love their versatility and have had no problems. I get mine from Reptile Basics.

I'm using all Herpstats, and I love them--the alarms let me know if a probe gets displaced, and they keep all of my rack at nice, steady temps with just a few degrees varying when there's a lot of air flow in the room. I have a Herpstat II and a herpstat pro, as well as the original herpstat which doesn't have an alarm, but still works great. I prefer them for the fact that a proportional thermostat will probably help my heat cables last longer.
