Sybella, glad you got to talk to him. Sometimes it takes things like this to really jog a person's memory. I'm not worried about my Centralians because, 1.) they seem perfectly healthy after a week in my care, and 2.) there is no way they can be w.c. as nothing from mainland Australia is, of course, allowed out. Your problem with the FWCs sounds like something I've had happen to both the FWCs I used to keep, as well as a few real cobra species. It usually happened when the snakes spilled their water bowls and sat on wet or dirty newspaper or mulch for a day or two. I believe these are simple water blisters, which are easily remedied by ensuring the snakes can't tip the water bowls, cages are checked often, and proper humidity protocols are in place for good husbandry. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not in the slightest way trying to imply that your husbandry is bad, as I know you care a great deal for your animals, but I've had it happen to me with a number of different individuals within the timespan of a day if I didn't catch a spilled water or was away for a day or more. In all cases, the problem was solved in the above manners.
I'm really sorry to hear about the misfortune you've had with those animals, and I'm grateful for the heads up, but I really believe I received quality animals from Jon. However, I will keep a very close eye on them in the coming weeks/months, and will update my posts here accordingly if anything should change.
