In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

not really. just exposing shady customer service when i see it. many would agree that needing animals to be feeding on frozen thawed isn't trivial. most of outbacks adds state the animals are feeding on rodents, just rodents, not live or frozen thawed, i guess if you didn't ask you'd find out after the fact that they are only eating live. not all of us have access to live rodents.

That would be on the buyer to find out before buying. Someone asks me to change something over to f/t they are SOL..

This has got to be one of the dumbest complaints I have ever seen. It reminds me of the time I sold leopard geckos to a store in Alaska. The customer called after receiving the lizards to ask what they eat, We replied the easiest food would be crickets. She had no live food available of any kind to feed her animals. It never dawned on us the owner of a pet store would not have any idea what to feed animals she ordered. Kevin needs to move on to something important. Josh has a thankless job when he can get trashed online for something so trivial.

Ok, Kevin, you stated this, "Not all of us have access to live rodents." Whose fault is that? YOURS. You seem to be a problem buyer, most of us will avoid you in the future.

Too funny. "Feeding live reptiles is shady". Snake buying 101: if it says eats mice or rats or Easter bunnies it means live unless it says eating f/t mice or f/t rats or f/t Easter bunnies. If you have years in the hobby you know that, and you are just trolling.

Kevin,
If you have been involved with reptiles for so many years then it would not be hard for you to switch an animal over yourself, or go to one of the breeders you list that feed the prey items you prefer.
Why keep crying over the fact that we wanted to save ourselves the headache of dealing with a problem buyer such as your self.
It's a free market, we will feed our animals whatever we feel is best, and is cost affective for us. We do not run our company to fit your individual needs, but rather works best for us, and the majority of our clients.

Very well said!! I have purchased a c.h. import from Josh and had a flawless transaction. Would definitely buy from him again!

I have never dealt with Josh directly but have had many many transactions both buying and selling with Ian, the owner of outback. I have never had a problem with a single thing coming from Ian not being honestly represented.

I also think it is very funny that people who dont know about the industry and dont take the time to ask the questions would not know that they have bought many animals from outback and just dont know it. Ian sells to hundreds of show dealers, pet shops, distributers and breeders all over the country but especially out on the east coast. If you bought animals from anybody in that part of the country there is a good chance that it was an outback animal.

They sell good quality product at really good prices both wholesale and retail. When you deal with that large a volume of animals you have to give people a little bit of a break on things like the request to get animals to eat frozen thawed. If you only will buy animals eating thawed, that is fine, but there is no reason to make such a big deal out of them not switching them to frozen thawed for you, just go buy from somebody else.

Christy, it means someone gave you one or more negative karma for one or more of your posts. You can check it by going to your User CP and scrolling down to the karma section.

I have purchased from Josh a few times over the years, both before he worked for Outback and had his own business, and now that he does work for Ian. I've never had a single problem with his customer service -- his communication has been great, always answers every question. Nor have I had a problem with his shipping, nor his animals. I have been happy with every transaction. I've e-mailed Josh random questions about various things and he always takes the time to answer, even when it has nothing to do with a sale.

As for the F/T issue -- I don't care if a buyer gives me "their word" that they will buy the animal if I try it on a frozen rodent. I've had people commit to purchase until they are blue in the face (metaphorically) and then back out after having me jump through hoops and waste time for a week. Until a deposit is placed or an animal is paid for, I'm not considering any animal sold or committed. My collection feeds live, and I let every buyer know that up front. I am not wasting an expensive rodent (or two or three) by killing it and freezing it, just to have the animal refuse it. No other snake will eat it, so then it goes in the trash. I don't care if you're a big breeder or small hobbyist. Wasted money is wasted money. If you want an animal that is already feeding on F/T, then find one for sale that is. Otherwise, buy a live feeder and convert it yourself -- especially for those that claim to strictly feed F/T and claim it's such an easy thing to convert them. Sellers guarantee finite things like genetics, gender, etc. Sellers can't guarantee things that fluctuate, like feeding on certain prey, and shouldn't be demanded to or be deemed a "bad seller" if they don't.

Oh, and for the record -- I have 100% positive trader ratings, tons of positive karma, and have been on Fauna for years. I am not Josh, nor affiliated with Outback in any way. Feel free to look me up and see for yourself.

i'd hear of the boi wolves before i became a member here and they have sure shown up in force. guess this is just a "whoever has the most buddies" forum and everyone who doesn't agree with gets hacked to bits. keep upping each others "karma" and "that a boying" each other to make yourselves look good. what a joke.

Yeah, right. A majority of the people here disagree with your opinion, so it MUST be a conspiracy against YOU......... No, it couldn't POSSIBLY be the likelihood that you hold a minority opinion about something.

your right. it is a conspiracy. outback's cronies vs people who demand customer service. yes we are the ones that are wrong here. get real.

Ha ha ha!! Crony?? I guess I am. I'm also an Exotics by Nature crony, a Bailey and Bailey crony, A TSK crony, A Major League Reptiles crony, a Ralph Davis Reptiles, etc, etc, etc.

YOU need to get real. This is more like a smear campaign than anything I have ever seen.

Doesn't that statement make you feel at least a little bit embarassed? You are "demand(ing) customer service" from someone who doesn't even want to do business with you because of the way you hold yourself. You are really starting to come off like you are a few nuggets short of a full happy meal.

Curious Kevin...

If you were selling a snake that only eats f/t, and your buyer wanted you to try and get the snake to eat live, would you do it?

absolutely. customer service should be any breeders second priority next to the welfare of their animals. without satisfied customers businesses are on borrowed time in my opinion.

I'm puzzled why this conversation is still taking place. This BOI thread is about Josh at Outback Reptiles. As far as I'm concerned, Kevin has no leg to stand on because he never actually had a business transaction with Josh due to his fairly extremist definition of "customer service."

Can we please stop the back and forth in here? It's obvious that Kevin has an unwavering opinion on how he was "wronged" by Josh not willing to deal with him. The conversation would be best continued in a non-permanent, non-BOI thread. As the conversation currently stands, it is doing nothing but clogging up this BOI thread.

I can say that I have done alot of business with Outback Reptiles at the shows we have vended at together. I have purchased multiple Boa and Ball Python Morphs from them as well as sold them some as well as our Geckos. I have talked to Josh multiple times on the phone and he has always taken the time to answer my questions and has been honest and upfront about the animals for sale. I have dealt with Ian at the shows and his staff and they also took the time to let me know if the animals I was interested in were eating. These guys are honest guys, I have bought a few animals from them that they just traded for at shows and they also told me this was just a new trade and has not been feed yet. I would do business with them in the future.
