    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Josh M Braeden. this guy is a scammer(beware)

Mark, don't be upset, if you're in the right you're in the right. You can discuss all of this tomorrow with the proper authorities that specialize in this sort of thing. You can show them the law that states you can collect and sell as many marbled salamanders as you like, and if you're right it should be no problem.

BTW, considering you also sell animals, and it would seem in large volume, you do have a state license to operate a business, yes? Or is that also something that isn't required in SC?

SC sounds like a really wonderful place to live, you can do whatever you want, no laws, no rules or regulations to follow. Must be that you could buy a basket full of marbled salamanders on any street corner.

just to expound a little on the previous statement of the ability to get a license
Section 47-2-50. (A) A person may possess an exotic animal only if:

(B) A person who meets the requirements of subsection (A) annually shall obtain a personal possession permit.

(C) An applicant shall submit an annual permit fee of fifty dollars for each animal and shall file an application to receive a personal possession permit with the department on forms provided by the department. The application shall include:

(4) the facility and the conditions in which the exotic animal will be kept are in compliance with this chapter;

(5) the applicant has obtained the requisite liability insurance coverage for the exotic animal under the applicant's control as set forth in Section 47-2-100;

(6) the applicant has regularly provided veterinary care to the exotic animal when needed and intends to provide such care in the future.

(E) The personal possession permit shall set forth:

(1) the name, address, and phone number of the permit holder;

(2) the address, if different than item (1), where the exotic animal will be kept;

(3) the name, number, species, age of the exotic animal, and any distinguishing marks or coloration that would aid in the identification of the animal;

(4) the identification number as required under Section 47-2-70, if applicable;

(5) the name, address, and phone number of the veterinarian who is expected to provide veterinary care to the exotic animal named on the permit;

(6) any other relevant information the department considers necessary.

(F) The department shall keep records of who has been issued a personal possession permit. A permit holder shall notify the department of any changes of the stated information on the permit, including the death of the exotic animal.

Thanks, because I was wondering how the Columbia, SC show, which sells venomous snakes/lizards is allowed too.

Thanks,

I wasn't trying to open another can of worms Randal. I was just showing that some of the ops claims are questionable.

No worries John.
I was just wondering how come venomous is allowed at the Repticon Shows in South Carolina
because Cathy Elrod (the promoter) has been promoting that show for years.

They are exempt because they are a trade show

(2) registered nonprofit humane societies;

(3) animal control officers or law enforcement officers acting under the authority of this chapter;

(4) veterinary hospitals or clinics;

(5) a wildlife rehabilitator licensed by the State;

(6) a wildlife sanctuary;

(7) a licensed or accredited research or medical institution;

(8) a licensed or accredited educational institution;

(9) a circus, rodeo, or trade show;

(10) a person temporarily transporting an exotic animal through the State if the transit time is not more than ninety-six hours and the animal is at all times maintained within a confinement sufficient to prevent the exotic animal from escaping.

For the last time. It is legal in the State of SC to own/collect/sell marbles and venomous reptiles. You can call the SCDNR and talk to Mr. steve bennet if you would like. He also attends the shows in columbia, and I have personally asked him about the SC laws and there is very little you cant own here. this is a great state and Im sorry the couple of people responding are taking away from what this thread was about. Whether or not these marbles were WC or CB, doesnt take away from the fact that I was scammed my this guy. Draw your own backwards opinions, but I will stand by my original post. I will not start anymore threads here. obviously this was a waste of time.

Hey Mark, I asked you if you had a business license but you didn't answer me.

South Carolina law requires that all business opportunities be registered before placing advertisements or making representations to prospective purchasers.

I think we both know you don't have one and have been doing business illegally.

One way or the other I am going to tear the walls down around you. You can count on it.

I do not have a business liscense, but I do not need one. this is not a business of mine. I have a job and I make very little from reptiles on the side. I sell reptiles to make enough money to pay for the more expensive animals that one can not normally afford. This is no different than someone selling furniture on ebay or craigs list. you dont need a liscense for it. I really dont know what your problem is but You should really find something constructive to do. by the way, this is steve bennetts number 803-734-3930. have a great day.

I think Chuck's got you there Mark. :NoNo:

You work at Stanley Associates, correct? You seem to use the internet a lot, apparently a good portion of such while you're at work - seeing as though you use your work email address. I wonder, does your company approve of its employees using its internet and email access for personal reasons and personal business matters?

Well...I guess with a call to human resources and a quick audit of your machine and we'll soon find out. :)

I'm gonna tear you playhouse down, pretty soon.
I'm gonna tear your playhouse down, room by room by room.

I think this is a problem. A guy comes on here to warn the rest of us about someone who has scammed him. Very little if any attention is given to the scam, and the guy is immediately and continuously attacked.

Furthermore, he is attacked for the "raping" of native wildlife. Come on, where did your animals come from? Unless they are domesticated, at some point there population was recently drawn from the wild, and you are contributing to that simply by owning them. Don't give me some silliness about:

Well I found such and such statute online. It makes me look like I could be right; I found it online - after I attacked him; I didn't know for sure before I attacked him, but I found a way to justify my attack - afterwards. It makes me feel better. Don't dare call me on it, or I might be mean to you too.

It is bothersome to see people with sharp minds using them to harass others instead of helping the fauna community.
