In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Josh Sharp - [email protected] - Terrible Cage - One to Avoid

Well he lied. I'm not the only one upset about his cages.
This is from his feedback.

Cage had manufacturing defects. Having to dispute, no guarantee. Bad Seller!!! tracye597 ( 26) Nov-04-07 13:49

Saw your Ebay feedback. Looks like I am not the only one complaining about your cages like you said.
You have until tomorrow to let me know how you are going to make this right or I will file a dispute in addition to the one you currently have going with Tracey on Ebay.

I'll keep you posted.

Don't worry about it Steve. I was just curious to view his sales pitch and I got all I needed to see on the ebay link that you posted.

The guy is a scumbag seller. Probably makes molds for vibrators.

I agree I was dooped into one too :(

I bought one of these crappy cages before I seen this review. He was peddling this crap on Ebay and I was dooped into thinking they were like Vision. HAHA Don't think so. This guy is a real piece of work he actually had the balls to escalate the dispute I have with him in Paypal to a claim.
I was being very accomodating up until that point, now I want to take him down. Here's how the e-mail went

Dear mushu1432,

After my fiancee had a chance to look the cage over thoroughly it isn't a shipping issue, he says the mold didn't dry straight. It is wavy and pushing against and away from the track causing the track to push away from the curved lip on the cage. The doors on the right pops out easily and the one on the left will not come out or move freely.
The concept you have is really good if you can figure out how to smooth out the sliding doors and fix the mold drying issue. The rough look of the doors really hurts the looks of the cage.

I have no way to fix this cage. It is a mold drying issue. I would like to exchange the cage or return it for a refund. If you have one in stock of a different color let me know, maybe we could exchange it.

I appreciate you having this cage made and sent to me as fast as you could, I just don't want to be stuck with an item that doesn't work properly.
Especially an expensive item.

Thank you
Tracy

This was his response:

This item is exactly as described in the ebay auction it is a new plastic reptile cage. The buyer said that the cage did not dry properly however, when a plastic part is made it does not require any drying time, it is cooled. The door and track was in complete working order when it left my possession. If it doesn't work properly then UPS has damaged the item or the buyer has damaged it.
From Seller: josh sharp on 11/4/2007 06:18 PST
the cage is as described. if you want i will send new doors. It is new it is a plastic cage. If the track fell off then there is an issue with ups.

Sounds familiar right. I hope UPS hasn't been paying out shipping claims for this guys crap. There is NO WAY my cage defects could be considered a shipping issue.

Well thanks for listening and buyers beware

P.S. This guy is still peddling crap cages on E-Bay go check it out!!

By the way the above message is from tracy597, Josh didn't even think about trying to work this out. Now I see why, he is a LOSER.

I wish I had learned from your mistake...

It's not UPS. It's shoddy construction causing the problems.
He contacted me tonight. I think at this point getting new doors is about all I can expect out of this.
Lesson learned.
I'll stick with Animal Plastics, Casey Hulse, and Reptile Basics for caging needs.
I'll let everyone know when and if new doors arrive.

That would be great.
I wouldn't be able to do that and who knows what a glass company would charge.

Hey Steve, I see you did quite a number on me there. I'm going to have to change my name. If you want I will make up some new doors and send them to you. I'll take pictures of them and leave the plastic coating on them so they don't get scratched.

Wow that reply sounded exactly like the reply he gave Steve. Someone needs to stop him before he doops someone else..

Yeah he told me he would replace my doors too

The bad thing is new doors is not going to help my cage at all. My problem is the lip on the inside of the cage and the metal track on the top and bottom.

He didn't even want photos of my problem...

Ow well, maybe I'll get my money back at least. :shrug01:

The tracks on this one need to come off and be put back on the right way or just replaced. Since it was riveted, taking them off may end up riuning them. The lip around the inside also needs to be sanded to break the edges.
I think I'll have to just throw out the screen in the back and replace it with a decent one that won't have rivets sticking out thru the ceiling of the cage.

Basically I will need to start with the shell (which sags in the middle already and has never been used) and rebuild it as best as I can.

I don't think I'll ever see a refund from this guy but if I can help others to avoid going thru this, it will be worth it.

This cage is worse that a DIY one from someone who never built anything before.

If he was a decent businessman, he would give both of us full refunds immediately. Of course if he was a decent businessman, he never would have sent out cages this crappy in the first place.

Tracy,

Does the screen on the top of your cage have rivets sticking thru into the cage and are the edges of the screen inside sharp like mine?

rivetsincage2.jpg

rivetsincage1.jpg

The rivets on our screen is o.k. I guess he figured that part out. The main problem with ours is the lip inside the cage has warped while cooling or baking and it is pushing hard against the track and the doors. It has basically pushed the track so hard the it won't stay riveted to cage. The lip also pushes against the plastic doors, it is pushing the left door hard enough that it only opens about 2" and wears a groove in the door. The top groove is the same way but not as bad. There is really no way of fixing it other than to reheat it and try to manipulate the plastic. I am not sure it would work.

I hope I can get my money back but I'll be darned if I will pay to ship it back to him after all this crap. I would be happy to send it back via a call tag. The best thing at this point for everybody would be to have him issue a partial refund of half my money and I will do my best to fix it. I may never be able to put a snake in it, but I could possibly use it for a lizard or toad.

Do you use photo buscket to insert pics? I have some I could post.

Lots of luck
Tracy

Yeah, this guy might be a good moldmaker, but he doesn't know much about the REST of the cage. The cages might actually be quite good if they had their other parts (track, doors, vent screen) assembled correctly with the right materials. (Before I thought they were machined and not molded).

You can't just use automotive pop-rivets and rough materials to assemble a cage. His design seems AWFULLY close to Vision's. I wonder if the design is close enough to be considered copyright or patent infringing.

I don't think he'll ever give any refunds for any amount on these cages. He knew they were garbage.

I wouldn't doubt it.
He got booted from KS because of these ads. :D

This cage looks IDENTICAL to a Vision cage 322 except it's black instead of grey. The big difference between this cage and a Vision cage is that Vision cages are good. This cage is crap.
He tried to copy an existing cage and totally screwed it up.

It seems like if he was trying to copy a Vision cage, he may have actually used a Vision to make the mold (I do not know much about mold making) which could cause him serious financial hardship if Vision were to go after him.
I know a few yrs. ago a big taxidermy supply CO. (Dan Chase) was sued by a small time taxidermist when he saw his mannequins being copied/sold in their catalog, he won the lawsuit and several hundred thousand dollars I think.

I make stained glass, I know for a fact it would only take 5 minutes and not any effort at all to grind down those edges

Maybe his last name is sharp for a reason >< :shootfoot

From the top view pics of the cage, it does look like the design is different from Visions(by no means am I defending this guy). It looks like it just slants back from the middle of the top of the cage?? I wonder how that would work if you had 5 or 6 stacked with the snakes sitting in the back of the cages?? BIG MESS,lol!!
Do these cages actualy slant back to the screen like it looks in the pics?? Just my opinion, but hopefuly you guys get you $ back. Good luck.

Jasin said:

Yes. I don't think they would be good stacked.

Right. There are some differences (the rib that is in the middle of the back and the way the shape of the vent area is a bit different) - but there are so many similarities that infringement may still be an issue. I don't think this guy used a Vision as a mold, but he sure did copy the design.

At the very least, in that Vision would NOT want anyone confusing these pieces of garbage with something THEY produced, because they look so similar.
