    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Stop the Flameing!!!!

I wish you long time users of the BOI would cut these new guys some slack. If you notice, this was his first attempt at posting here, asking a question. Instead of kindly explaining the search option, you basically insulted him, that he couldn't have figured that out on his own.
This site is a wonderful resource, but I think we sure start using a little more tact and a lot less starch.

In my opinion, Rob's reply was perfectly acceptable and in no way a flame. All he did was to post a link with a suggestion to use the search function. I have read his message a dozen times now and in no way find anything in which to base your comment on.

Matter of fact, if anything, I would say that YOUR post is much more inflammatory than his is, and just about guaranteed to get an inflammatory response back from him.

You didn't miss anything as I have read Robs post over & over & didn't see anything wrong. He not only mentioned the search option but even directed Daniel to the thread on them that he was inquiring about. The amount of starch in ones system is in the eye of the beholder, I have to go as my mashed potatoes are getting cold :eek:) Happy Easter to all.

My post was in no shape or fashion a flame. I stated a fact. If the "Rules for Posting on the BOI" had been read he would have seen the statement regarding the search function.
Please utilize the SEARCH function as much as possible before starting a new thread. In many instances, it is much better to continue an existing thread rather than starting a new one in order to preserve continuity about a person. Anyone abusing this common courtesy request by posting an excessive number of new threads will have their threads deleted as deemed appropriate

I made a statement both giving him the information and letting him know he could have found the information using the search function. Nothing personal against Mr. Gildenlow but there is the first thread on the BOI which clearly states "NOTICE!: Rules for Posting on the BOI". Believe me if I had wanted to make a post as you put it "using Starch" I could have done it very easily. I also could respond to your post the same way but I did not nor will I. If you did not or do no like the way I posted in response to him that is your prerogative but it does not make your opinion correct on whether the post was a Flame against him.
 
Did it ever occur to any of you that I wanted experiences that were as 'fresh' as possible? You know, like MAYBE a couple of people just dealt with them and MAYBE they would see my thread and MAYBE they would reply?

Did you lose sleep over my thread Rob? Did it make your blood pressure rise? Did it some how insult you? If it did, good, you prick. Sorry if I pissed on proverbial seat, it seems this place is as trivial as kingsnake.com.
 
Ah yes, it brings back such lovely memories of my days as a day camp counselor. OK boys, now I don't think anyone really meant to piss anyone off and I am sure that you are both sooooo good at pissing people off that if you had REALLY wanted to we would have no doubt of it.

I guess we all know your maturity level now by your actions and statements. I made a post to inform you of a thread regarding them, and let you know about the search function and you resort to name calling and childish actions. This site is not trivial at all but it does have rules to follow in order to post on it. These rules are there to protect sellers, buyers, and the owner of this site and not waste his money nor time. It is ridiculous that a simple rule that is CLEARLY posted, and then pointed out when it was not noticed has now turned this site into a trivial site. As I said before I did not say anything wrong nor did I flame you but rather informed you of the previous thread and way of finding it. I can understand you wanting fresh information if it was out there but that does not mean not to follow the rule on continuing a thread already started. Good luck with your search for information on JPPets.
 
That's enough, Mr. Gildenlow.

If you had wanted fresh info about JP Pets, you could have posted a followup query in that existing thread, which would have brought it up to the top of the forum. There is also a rule about using this site that requests that people use existing threads whenever possible.

With that being said, if you feel you must engage in calling people names on this site, then you are not welcome here.

It is my opinion that Rob was trying to be helpful. Certainly the bulk of information and help he has contributed to this site far outweighs anything I have seen from you thus far.

I sincerely hope this is perfectly clear to you.
 
Do you always let Rob do your job Webslave? I see plenty of threads about companies and individuals that have already been asked about. Go harp on all of them, too.

daniel, you're missing the main point. Is it on purpose or do you really not see it. You resorted to name calling and acting like a kid caught doing somehting he knows he shouldn't. Rob did not act in such manner himself. Sure you may have taken his original post as a slight but he said he didn't mean it that way and you seem to be the only one who does.

This site is in no way trivial. It does question a lot of people, buisnesses, and mores of doing such business. If you relate this to KS then there may be something wrong with your data input ability.

Does your language usage cause you to feel the PRICK of ire directed against you for being such a brat. Grow up. Or at the very least act like one while you're here.

As far as I'm concerned you're out of the sandbox for the rest of the day. Go get your attitude adjusted and see if you can get a dose of maturity too.

Regarding other posts that have been done and there were existing threads, I have informed people about the same thing. Some of them I do in private and some I do in the thread. When I feel the information needs to be put there I post on that thread as I did on yours. I felt you should see the information and know where to find it. If you read other threads on this site you will notice that I have told MANY people about the same thing as I told you and also told others about other rules that they might have missed.

Lots of people help out here to let people know what the rules are. There's a reason for this. A lot of people recognize the help this site gives to them and want to help it along. The reply Rob made to your post was in an effort to help you as well as take some work load off of me. If you feel this is offensive, then so be it, but that's the way it is here.

You can either take this site as it is, which was here before you decided to show up and functioning fine at the time, or you can avail yourself of some other means to check up on people or businesses you are trying to inquire about.

The choice is yours to make.

Quite frankly, I don't care either way, but you will NOT turn this thread into a flame war.

You accused Rob of flaming on this thread ...... But in reality it is you who is turning this thread into a flame war. Rob did nothing wrong other than inform you that you should have tried doing it another way. You took it the wrong way and got upset. What Rob was doing was helping and thats it. Alot of us would do the same thing and for you to attack the webslave for someone helping him is unacceptable in my opinion. I think you owe them both an apology.
 
It's funny how a simple little inquiry can cause someone to shoot themselves in the foot. I'm glad I was in a hurry this morning when I saw Daniel's post before anyone else had a chance to reply. I didn't have time to reply then but if I had I may not have been as tactful as Rob and I may have been called something a lot worse. I thought the exact same thing as he did, but I was not going to let that influence my opinion on Daniel. A new guy just didn't read the rules no big deal really, just point it out to him politely and go on, but then he replies by calling Rob a p**** and there goes any chance he probably had of dealing with many of the people on here.

No big loss I guess.

sorry for starting any wars

After I posted my comments, I felt I shouldn't have. To keep my mouth shut per se.
But, I do hear from time to time from noivces ,that they feel a little threated about the BOI. My comments were just that it would have been nice to tone things down a bit. To welcome new people and guide them with a kind word verus a harsh tone.
Maybe I'm not seeing the entire picture. But so be it. It's my opion, and I"m sticking to it.
