In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Juan Infante - threads merged together.

I bought two high orange bci from him with no prob and they were gorgeous.

Just to wrap up my understanding of legitimate business dealings is that you represent your merchandise accurately... PERIOD. Especially when you spend larger amounts of hard earned cash.
If you are advertising 400+ & 500+ gram animals that in fact or only 200-300 grams, it is NOT ok to just say "Oh well.. it is only a 200g. difference". When you are buying so called "well established yearlings" that is what you are paying for. As we all know I could have saved myself $860.00 and bought fresh imports. This is where the 200g makes a difference for me, the difference between $140.00 and $1000.00.
When you go to the doctor for a viral infection it is NOT ok for him/her to give you a bactericide medication. Same difference. It is not ok to misrepresent animals!
Juan is not the only person who has done this. It just happens that I refuse to sit back and let people take advantage of me. If it truly was a "mistake or misjudgement" then there wouldn't have been a problem with this transaction as he would have promptly returned my calls or returned my emails to make other arrangements to rectify this situation. Would've/could've been a problem free transaction!
I do apologize for ranting on. I am just really tired of people not taking responsibility in this wonderful business. It really isn't difficult to pull out the scale before you sell an animal and be accurate.

Honesty will get you everywhere!

Steven,
From what you posted, I believe you meet Juan personally for the deal. I have a few questions regarding your deal:
When you picked up those ball pythons from Juan, do they look like they are in 400 grams range?
Also, since you asking for accurately, what did Juan tell you? Did he say they are in 400 grams range, or did he say they are 400+ grams? Did he say the two extra are in 500 grams range or did he say they are 500+ grams?
How would you define 400 grams range - 400 grams? 410 grams? 390 grams? 375 grams? 350 grams?
Have they eaten any meal since you bought them?
When you picked them up from Juan, do they look dehydrate, freshly wild caught? Or do they look plum, healthy and clean as established wild caught?

From my experience, I have had four deals with Juan, 2 last year, and 2 recently that involved some high dollar animals. The female BCC and male F3 Hypo I bought from him last year were healthy, clean, slamming on rats and growing like weed. For the two deals recently, the adult pair albino/het albino boas were clean, healthy and slamming on rats. The albino ball python was clean and slamming on fuzzy/small rat also. The only problem was that I found out she has some sign of respiratory infection 2 days after I picked her up from Juan. I did not check her when I picked her up (I trust him). She was house in a 8-shoe-box rack with other ball pythons (none was sick). She could be sick when she was with him. She could be sick when she was with me. There were a 2-day gap that I left her so that she can get acquainted with her new environment without inspecting her. I contacted Juan regarding the problem asking if she was sick when she was with him. He responsed that she was healthy, and didn't shut me down with thing like it's has been 2 days, she could be sick when she was with me, deal is over, etc... Instead, he was gladly to provide me with information on how to take care of her, and he even went further by offering me to have him take the snake to one of his vet for inspection and offering me that he will take care of the snake until she is healthy and give her back to me. Since then, he has kept contact me to assure that the ball python and I are o.k. I have been to Juan places several time, not just for business, but also for assistance from Juan. He has helped me out in sexing snake, and giving me information on keeping snake and husbandry. Juan is a nice and honest guy, in my opinion, that I would recommend to everyone to do business with him.

I know that Juan has some personal/family problem recently. He has moved recently, and doesn't have computer access. I am not giving him excuse. I contacted him regarding you and this thread. I hope that he will contact you, or come here to post his side of story. Also, I contacted him on Sunday, which he was at work, and he told me that he "will call back in the evening." He just called me at 9:20 a.m. today;)

Maybe I am being to harsh

Thank you for your post. Apparently everyone has been having great success with Juan. I think that is great. In fact he came highly recommended from a breeder whom I trust very much.
We all have off times myself included. I just find it hard to swallow when people won't contact you over a simple issue that could have been easily resolved. I left very pleasant messages and have sent very pleasant emails. I in know way was rude, abrupt or demanding. I personally like to build relationships with breeders, etc as networking is a great thing and you never know when you need help from someone.
You can see in my previous posts the whole story line about weights, what was stated etc. The snakes looked plump, they did all sex as females as stated. The kicker for me is he knew that I was in the market for older animals and he stated several times that they were in the 400g range. When you tell me 400g. range I am thinking pretty darn close to 400 or over 400. True I could have weighed them myself though we were in a very busy parking lot and I felt uncomfortable with all the spectators around so I wanted to wrap up the deal as soon as I could. None looked dehydrated and most of them ate within a few days time. There was a tick or two etc as I stated before. Lesson learned here on my part. Always weigh and sex the animals no matter WHO the seller is as this is not the first time this has happened.
Anyways, I don't want to keep going on and on about this. I said my peace and would just like to have this resolved. I am happy to hear that so many people have had great exeriences with Juan and I hope he continues in that manner. Its really too bad that I did not have that experience with him. If he wants to resolve this then I am more than willing to work with Mr. Infante.

Thanks for all your words and responses!
