In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Sputnik - jumpin' to confusions there, aren't you buddy? How do you figure I hate Alan??? In a thread in the hell forum I addressed his apparent conflict of interest, but I doubt that you will find any indication anywhere that I hate him. Actually I feel sorry for him. He never understood what I was getting at in that thread, and he probably feels that he is being wronged in this one as well.
As for editing the email, what you see is what I got. I have to admit though that it was painful for me to post such a thing with all those spelling and punctuation errors. Obviously I was not the first one to get this email as it was not originally sent to me, so there must be several people who can verify its accuracy. My guess would be that it was sent to someone Alan thought would appreciate what he was doing. The fact that it got beyond this person shows that whoever it was has a whole lot more scruples then Alan could understand.
Editing an email to make someone look bad??? Nope..... not my style, bub. The truth is painful enough when properly applied.

I'm not sure what to say. I've been trying to think of the words to communicate my disappointment since I first saw this thread early this morning.
All I can come up with is....why? Why would anyone ever wish something like this on anyone else. Perhaps, Alan, you see this as some type of online gaming. It's so easy to think of it that way when all it is is logging onto the internet, reading things and communicating this way, and then logging off to get on with day to day chores.
But why in the world would you wish harm to come to this forum, and not only that, but personal financial harm to come to Rich in such a manner? And not only *that*, but to get what out of it..?...an upgrade in your classifieds account on KS?
This site, FaunaClassifieds, has been one of the best sites ever to have been created for our hobby. Without it I can't think of the countless amounts of people who would have been scammed out of money on deals gone bad. Or on just plain out and out scams. And if you've bought anything lately, Alan, you know as well as anyone that you came here to do a search on the BOI for whoever you are buying from, provided you did not know them personally ahead of time.
Now to go ahead and do something like this if, in effect, that original post was correct and factual? I just can't believe this at all.

Well let me start by saying yes the email is mine and nothing was edited by anyone.I Can also say that as to the part of money involved well that was stated in anger from what was read in the Admin forums , as i can tell you that that what you see on the face of the site is not at all the same behind the curtain. The things that lead up to several things here some may know and some may not know .Rich and i had a long 2 hr talk on the chat room several weeks ago on the actions of a moderator on his site .While i did agree with Rich that one of the actions taken by him was on my accord and took the lumps accordingly. How ever there were morethen one occasion that the same moderator took the limits of his powers in what I and a few others had thought was a lil on the abusive side , but hey mods do get a lil big headed from time to time I directed Rich to the thread in question where i had simply done what was asked in posting a SCREEN SHOT of what i was talking about due to the fact that he doesnt allow or want outside links posted due to removal of the post and leaving dead links across the site . So with doing what was asked i was giving points and snide remarks from the moderator.While there were many posts on the same page that were directly against the rules of posting off topic messages in threads no one was issued points on the page but myself. I explained to rich that that is one things that pisses people off is for something to be issued to them and not to someone else with eyesight of doing the same thing it gives the appearance of selective moderating. the conversation we had pretty much came to a head with nothing being resolved and rich not wanting to question his moderators which is his right for fear of them quiting and being stuck with the brunt of the site alone .
Now as to my actions yes i did delete some of my posts but it was something done in anger and with in my rights as memeberto be able to delete a post i make in a forums so i did delete some of them and then stopped after i thought about it .Then i noticed that there were several functions that had been restricted by Rich to limit my access to the site I emailed him and asked why that was done and got a reply from him on to me it seemed like a fair action for what he thought so i didnt question it. I then was on tyhe site one night and ran across a post listed when you hit the new posts button it had my name in the header so i clicked and was taken to this forum at the time i didnt realize it was a " hidden forum" While reading the thread it became obvious that while Rich comes across as a gentle loving tell it like it is guy on the surface its actually quite different when he is in a area that no one can see i have no problem in telling anyone what i have on my mind and have done and will do in the future . Now if Rich had re;ayed his true thought to me in a email instead of posting it where only a select few could read it and make a biased opinion w/out the pleasure to defend ones self and therefor have them being able to read ,spread this to others indiscriminately to who they see fit. when i read that i will say it really burnt me up because pryor to that i had always pictured Rich as someone who would tell you exactly how he feels. and then it was proven different so with that i was to be frank extremely pissed that he couldnt tell me how he feels and would do it in the way he did . I then decided to read more posts in the forum to see how things really run behind the scenes and how they really feel when none of the others can see what they say on one side and then paint it pretty on the other side . Then i ran across the kingsnakes.com thread in the forum and it wasnt the one posted on the site .One thing i noticed different between this site and kingsnake is that from the actions of Kingsnake , the mods is not saying they dont but from the sleeve they do exactly what the tell you they will do when something is against the TOS its gone I spoke my mind on the kingsnake threads here and stand by my posts in them. I openly stated how i felt about things that go on there but when you sort out the rules and put them together that is the rules to follow or if not you know what happens as its been seen before .
Since that email was sent nothing has been done in regards to its subject .In responce to the money issue it was something that hit at the time of the email and was said .. can i take it back nope , do i wish i hadent said nope because that was the first thing that came into my head at the time when i was pissed off .
Opinions are made and more then likely cant be changed but thats life does it bother me ? possibly some will it change the way i post things in a email more then likely but im sure that each and everyone here has or will at one point put something out that would have been better served being thought out rationally before acting . Neil you know this VERY well dont you? and if you choose to email me and make threats thats your choice but i can tell you i am not impressed by your threats .
( as to the ones regarding me reading this thread all day it was not the case i read it when i got up this morning and was only 1-2 replies and was busy in the shop so now that thats taken care of i have replied I may have the time to reply back before leaving out this afternoon but its not a promise as time is slipping away. Do you really believe that the fact that you were angry is a legitimate excuse for your behavior? Because that most certainly seems to be your explanation for why you did what you did.

Allen, When you get a chance to respond would you mind telling us if it was your intention to bankrupt Rich Z. and cause fauna to be shut down? If that is the case, then people like Jesse Underhill and a host of others are probably applauding your efforts. I would like to see Rich take legal action against you, frivolous or not.
I wanted to add something to this.. Rich, you say most sites probably have a forum similar to that which Alan gained access too due to the change in position.. You are 100% correct in that.. But you are way off on one part.. Most of the sites that I have moderated and helped to run with a forum such as that do not allow the abusive talking that you allow on yours.. (and yes I have read some of the threads on that forum).

I am certainly curious to know what YOU consider to be abusive after seeing the language that you consider to be par for the course.
As for what is discussed in the Moderators' Forum, that is supposed to be private conversation between myself, the moderators, and among themselves, if need be. I place no restrictions on about what or how they talk, but I do not recall any instance where profanity has been used nor anyone being abusive to anyone. Certainly we talk about people who are themselves abusive, but I suppose they might consider such talk as being abusive about them in return. I strongly encourage my moderators to be frank about their opinions. And as seen in the above mentioned thread, I do sometimes have to slap a hand if they go a bit overboard in public.

No Rich, I am not irritated with you about the warning email I received many months back about profanity in the chat, that is fine. And yes, profanity is used in the chat, by many many people (including myself at times) No ill feelings about that at all.. Also no ill feelings either about being the only person to ever receive warning points in Hell aka "unmoderated" forums.. lol I know that I may seem like I am being sarcastic, but seriously I have no ill feeling at all about either of those points. This is your site and your site to run how ever you see fit.
You know, I no longer have an income since I am going to school but I made a small donation today to the site just to show I care; I would hope others are showing their solidarity in a financial way even a little bit; I just can't imagine not having this site, and I don't want to imagine Rich financially stressed trying to keep it here for us, he does so much for us.
