    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just a question...

Well, I finally went out and registered my trade / business name here in New Hampshire.... I was actually kicked into gear to do it because I was at a local petstore (petco) and was talking to a woman there that was saying that she was going to open a store in 5 years... and told me the name if it. Well... low and behold, it was the SAME name as I have except she didn't have the S at the name.. she was "reptile" and I was "reptiles".. Well, I have the Federal Tax ID number in that name since May 2004, and I had my web-sites paid for.. the only thing I didn't do is register the name... So needless to say, I went home, printed out the application, filed the paperwork, and registered the trade name, making it and all likenesses mine. Question I have is.... does that seem wrong somehow for me to do that? lol I don't think so, but I feel bad in some way... not sure why, Just seems right to me that I was going to do this for 3 years, and this person just moved to NH from NY and was going to take the Name "Granite State Reptiles" when I have had the name on the Federal side since 2004.... thoughts? Opinions? Have a good one all.....

I don't see anything wrong with it. Question? Can she still register Granite State Reptile? If so you may want to protect that name also.

Can't believe the name hasn't been used yet.

I believe "Granite State Reptile" would be covered as a likeness. So no problem there. And I dont see anything wrong with it at all Sean.

Yes, Granite State Reptile is protected as they will not allow another business take a name that may come close to being confused with it. Nothing with Granite State and reptile in the same name can be taken unless I am contacted and give permission. Thanks... Like i said... I was feeling kind of bad earlier... Not so much now. ;) thanks all..

This is also a good lesson in procrastination. It's not bad business to look after yourself, especially when that entails doing what you came up with yourself.

Had you stolen the idea from her, that would be good business as it's a good name but bad karma as stealing is not the right thing to do.

Sleep easy.

Absolutely... I guess in a way I am lazy in that I never bothered to register with the state... had the paperwork... never filled it out. I did register with the Feds... like i said, but that was easy.. jsut had to make a phone call... and the website addresses were easy also.. just a click.. but physically going to the office of the Secretary of State and filing the paperwork... lol just coudn't bring myself to do it... well, Until today when by some strike of luck I heard her say the name I came up with 3 years ago.... As you said.. Definitely a vauable lesson in Procrastination... I seriously doubt that will happen again. :)

have you registered "granitestatereptile" also? I would- just in case someone is looking for your buisness they don't end up getting their business!!

Manchester here, BTW......

I registered with the state "granite State Reptiles".. they said that that is enough to secure the name. As far as web-addresses, I secured GSReptiles.com, Granitestatereptiles.com, and granitestatereptile.com.... Im in loudon, When the time comes, I hope to open a place somewhere between Concord, and Manchester... all depends on where best traffic would be. Too far north, and I would be sacrificing the Lower, NH, upper Mass business...
