    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Just showing off my home made incubator.

Since I was putting a new clutch in the incubator I thought I would get a few pictures to post.

I made this from a used upright freezer that our local appliance store was disposing of for a client. They gave it to me free of charge and had even taken out the refrigerant. I removed the motor and all the other stuff that was not needed. I then added a fan inside to circulate air and regulate temps evenly throughout the unit. Actually the fan unit has three fans built in it but I only wired one. I adding 11” heat tape to both sides for heat and a helix thermostat. I have three electronic thermometers to check the unit temps from top to bottom and it stays within .7 degrees top to bottom with the fan on. I currently have five clutches in the unit and it can hold twenty tubs. It works very well we have hatched four clutches from this incubator thus far.

What do you think, do I need any improvements and what are you using, pictures of your setup are welcomed.

May you all be blessed with a great season.

Nice. I recommend adding some water bottles to help with fluctuations when you open the door. Here are a couple I have done and one I'm about to start:

E. G. aka Bumble Boy,
Thanks, they are really easy to make the hardest part was finding a fan.

Nick,
Those units look really great! I will take your advice and put water bottles in to help maintain temps. I did not even think of loosing heat as I usually only open the door once a week to ventilate the tubs for fresh air. Unless I have a clutch due then it is just open the door check the tub and close the door. I don't seem to have a problem with checking everyday or more, delayed gratification suits me very well.
