    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Looking at getting some plastic containers for a few ball pythons. What kind of heating setup should I use? Thought a heating pad underneath the container at one end or on one of the sides? I saw a rainforest heat pad on one of the sites but haven't heard back from them yet if it'll work. I want to get 2 females first. Thinking, pastel and yellowbelly or majave. Then a bubblebee for a male a year later. Got some books and am reading up on them. How does this sound?? Thanks Ron
 
Hey Ronald whats up I personally still use a variety of heating sources such as undertank reptile pads,lights,and heating pads although I am a hobby breeder its all just for fun for me a way to release and go to my snake/rat room and enter my man cave its all mine ..
I would say use what you can afford as long as thermastats and thermometers are used I see no real harm in any method as long as the snakes are in thier perspective temp ranges go for it.
 
Thanks. I just bought a couple ceramic bulbs I think? Heat no light to them. And some bowls for them to dip in. Am I gonna be able to get them out and let them hang on me every once in awhile?
 
Well, I just got me a pastel and yellowbelly from exoticsbynature. their nice people. And got some hopper mice from Fl. too. Can't wait to get them!!
 
Well, got my babies in today! I have one cage built and as soon as it stops raining I'll get the material for the other. Bought acrylic glass from ebay just waiting for it to get here. Got my babies in plastic containers. The yellowbelly went straight for the hide box and the pastel went exploring.
 
i was reading through this as i'm jsut starting out myself and i saw the "as soon as it stops raining" haha yea tell me about it the weather down here has been horrrible! and as far as caging, they will most likely get stressed from being moved around to different cages so give your new babies some time to adapt.
 
I have some in my gallery, I'm down sizing my 4'x2'x18" cages to 3x2x1. I have a female hypo coming after the 1st of the year. I'll take some more photos after that. They have'nt had any trouble adjusting from containers to the big cages. I have plenty of hides for them and their eating 2 hopper mice each and already had their fist shed with me.
