This young morning gecko (Lepidodactylus lugubris) was captive bred by us, and is about half grown and ready to go to a new home. Her mother was also captive bred.
This species is parthenogenic, and there are NO males in existence. She will begin to lay eggs occasionally once she is mature, and some of them will hatch into 'clones' of her. If kept in groups, these geckos are even more prolific.
She is feeding on calcium-dusted flightless fruit flies, and Repashy crested gecko diet. She will do wonderfully in a typical arboreal tropical vivarium, such as a ZooMed 18X12.
Juveniles are largely nocturnal, but adults are crepuscular, and can be seen in the open often if they're kept in an area of the household where they frequently see humans. Give them a few months to get over their shyness.
