Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am just speaking from an experience I had with a local breeder. I went to there address they had listed and we wroked it out. I have a good understnading of the law.

I would be concerned about the gun thing though. I know texas and most of the south have very good castle laws. In new york those laws do not apply to a business. Everything has to do with there business address. If you went to a different address than he had listed there would be an issue.
 
Let me also add an explanation on why cops can do nothing in this case, and this is from a friend who is a cop.

Its like you order a pizza from Dominoes, its guaranteed to arrive hot and fresh, but instead it arrives cold and moldy. You call the manager, but he does nothing. Ignores you. Won't replace your pizza. So you call the cops, and demand they do something. Not only will they do NOTHING over this CIVIL matter, but they also may just arrest you for anything from calling 911 with a non-emergency to making a false report. And actually, a man did get arrested once for calling 911 because a sub business did not make his sandwich to his specifications.

You are making some wild claims. From saying people supposedly have bad experiences to telling us to drive there and demand what we want. It doesn't work that way. Many people have posted emails from these people. Many have posted pics of their dead and dying animals from these people. And they also have stolen pictures from breeders and posted the animals on their site for sale, when they don't own those animals at all. They are shady. I am glad 1 out of 2 of your frogs from them are alive. That was amazing in itself. We'll see if you get the second frog this week. Hope to see pics of a healthy frog.
 
So yesterday I contacted steve about adding some albinos to my replacement shipment. I am going to be breeding horned frogs so I am only looking for exceptional animals. He said that he had some really nice red albinos. I wasnt expecting to much but wow! The albinos that arrived were actually apricot albinos with tons of red! The replacement ornate looked good to. Since I am planning on ordering another ornate and albino, I will be buying from him for sure.

I only wish steve had some c. cornuta or other rare horned frogs. Either way between the prices and the quality of animals Steve is by far the best!

I will be posting pics in this thread late next week when I hopefully get my camera.

Forgot to add that the weather here is far below freezing and the frogs still arrived fine. Last nights low was 9 degrees!
 
I learned my lesson. I won't use ANY breeder who sends their animals during extreme weather conditions.

Many breeders and dealers won't send their animals when the temperature drops or rises to certain degrees. Being that he uses UPS and UPS trucks are not air controlled, I am shocked it arrived alive. And hopefully its healthy.

Glad ONE person out of dozens on here had a good experience. I would never ever consider him the best though. The best kind of breeder/dealer would not have so many dissatisfied customers and dead animals.
 
As far as horned frogs in my opinion he is one of the best. I would say that phillipe de vosjoli trumps all other horned frog breeders/dealers as far as quality/rare/price animals. I was going to invest in a group of stolzmanni or caatinga horned frogs from phillipe but because christmas is close I didnt want to spend that kind of money. Besides the price for albino and ornates has remained steady the past few years. i expect that these rarer species wont remain rare for to much longer.

hopefully this summer I will produce some really nice apricot albinos and super red ornates.


Also i believe that steve is selling these at a large discount so that he can try and come back from all his bad dealings and start to regain trust. At the price he is selling his frogs no one has anything to lose.
 
If steve was trying to regain trust, he would start with all of the unresolved issues of his past customers AND there wouldn't be new complaints.

Even if I had a good experience with him, after the shady things I saw him do to others, I wouldn't deal with him again. I await the day you eat your words when he screws you, because from looking at the dozens of dissatisfied customers on this forum alone, it's bound to happen.

Personally I would rather support people who arenas shady or do business openly with shady people. If you think what he is doing is perfectly okay because you had a good experience with him and ignore the dozens of bad, I wouldn't want to buy any of your frogs. Sorry but that's just how I feel. When you support a shady character it does not reflect well on yourself

I still did not get the money back, that was 3 months ago. I would never deal with this guy and it is a shame that he now brings parsonii in.
