• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, in my opinion anonymity pretty much guarantees abuse. Which is why I've pretty much always been pro-positive ID here. The Board Of Inquiry could not exist in any helpful fashion if all the posters were anonymous and not held liable for their words.

Same thing with the classifieds. I sure as heck wouldn't buy from someone who insisted on being anonymous. The requirement for people to provide their real name and location is a safety feature that everyone needs to pay close attention to. If someone is offering something for sale, and they want you to send payment to someone whose name and or location is different from what is shown in their profile, that SHOULD give prospective buyers reason to pause and think about what they are doing. Yeah, the seller can come up with all sorts of plausible reasons when you ask about it, but remember one thing here. That is PROOF that they have already lied. If they will lie to me, they will lie to you. So bear that in mind before you send off your hard earned money.
