In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Kathy Weeks has sticky fingers - Thief

Rumor has it that prior to her apprehension there was a slow sleep pursuit as Ms. Weeks fled from the convention center. Chicago PD reports that Ms. Weeks was witnessed on the rear jump seat of the Rascal scooter as her close confidant Al Cowlings lead her from the scene at a brisk 2MPH.

This makes me sick! All of the hard work and passion that people put into this hobby...And she thought nothing of just stealing it! I hope justice is served...If not, then at least the herp community is aware.

Im so glad this person was apprehended. This is the second incident about stealing at a show Ive read about this year. The first was a young gentleman that actually bragged about stealing leopard geckos from a show out in Cali.
Now we have a "lady" that has been caught stealing geckos in Illinois. In mu opinion theres' nothing lower than a lier & a thief. This lady is both she was caught red handed leaving the show with stolen property then she lies and says another vendor sold her the geckos two rows over from where she originally had been looking at them 45 mins before she left. I just hope Steve files charges and shes prosecuted. We dont need these types at the shows or in the hobby. She was basically stealing at least a yrs worth of work from the breeder/vendor. Beyond the $$ value its the time lost that you can never recover as a breeder.

People steal from tables all the time, it's horrible. I personally know 5 people that have had animal stolen from there table this last year. Most were under $100 but one was right around $800 and another was a $3000 lavender albino BP taken out of an acrylic display.

The picture of the lady in the beginning of this thread is not Kathy Weeks. Check the video posted on the other thread http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?t=251958 post #25. At approx 40 secs in it shares the above pic, at approx 2:01 into the video a second picture is shared of her at her car. They are clearly two different people, different clothes and hair. The one at the car is the real Kathy.

That must have been the one that was said to have looked like Kathy then, if it wasn't her. Poor lady, having her pic posted here when she had done nothing wrong.

If you can't afford to pay for it, what says that you can afford to keep it???

Thieves are some of the worst kind of people.

The derogatory comments about the weight of the people in the photographs is childish and really has no bearing on the crime or the morals of the person.

I hope that there is videotape so perhaps the vendors won't have the burden of returning to Chicago to prosecute her. And I do hope she's charged. Theiving has no place in the reptile world, nor any place in society at all.

Already established that, and I apologized. I have already admitted it was a tasteless comment, and not really something I would generally say. I dropped it and it appears most others did as well. It was a mistake and I shouldn't have posted it!!
Not much I can say except I am sorry I said that and I should have thought instead of typing out a comment without fully thinking about it.

let's keep this on the subject instead of my stupid comment, ok? (don't know how to make that sound less snotty. :( )

I wasn't referring to only you. There was more than just you, including a recent one. Comments shouldn't detract from the main point of someone stealing at a show.

Can anyone confirm the two photos are of different women? I assumed(bad I know) that the original picture was Kathy from a different time(taken off the net). People do cut their hair and such. Someone on iHerp said there was another woman on a scooter who looked just like Kathy, but they specifically said they had the SAME haircut and everything. If the woman in the first pic is not Kathy, it also should not be the "lookalike" Kathy since the hair is different.

Anyone know where the first pic(longer hair) came from originally? I would hate to see someone innocent dragged into this, but the pic from the parking lot is waay too far away to see detail of someone's face.

Ok. I am sorry-I thought you were referring only to me, cause I didn't see any other comments. :(

The pic in the parking lot, I thought looked like her hair was darker than the first picture. She looked smaller than the lady in the first pic too.

I made the comment and apologized as well. I have family that exceeds that weight as well and its no place to judge as I am not skinny either.

On the other hand Hopefully justice is served and she does her time for the crime.

Well the lady I think was being mistaken as Kathy has dark hair. She also commented on the video when UJR posted it saying I am glad this was cleared up that I am not Kathy. Assuming that picture is not of her because she never mentioned anything about it.

Glad someone got around to making this post I was contemplating wether or not I should make one. I was the one who took Steve to her as she was getting in her car. I was shocked as well being that I have had prior dealings with Kathy and she never seemed to be this type of person always sweet and kind. But that opinion quickly changed when we learned that she was the one who ran off with the geckos. There isn't a single doubt in my mind that she stole them. She says she paid $250 for the 3 P.rugosus when I already know that is not possible. I sold Kathy a crested gecko the day before this happened. We had spoken on e-mail about me bringing a hatchling of mine with. I had also asked her if she had any interest in buying a leachie or two. I had them priced at $200 each she told me in her e-mail she would love to see them but she could not afford that much.... It is also important to note that when we suspected it may have been her that took them Steve asked me to ask her what else she bought at the show so maybe she would open up her cooler and I could look. When I asked her she told me that no she didn't buy anything and then stated she had to leave. Another thing is I dont think he mentioned in the video that the P.rugosus were $750 each!!! Making the grand total $2250 now if someone selling you them for $250 doesn't set off a red flag im pretty sure nothing will.
