PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information.     In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Truely I think that Katie got ripped off, how she carries it from there is up to her. I guess as long as she states that they are from the Harrison Collection then we all know where we stand. At this point Katie I'd try to get Raymond to take them back or present evidence, because you are not going to be able to sell his snakes honestly. If he doesn't come forward, then he truely is scum, since he hasn't so far you can draw your own conclusions from his actions or lack there of. How does it feel to know hes now vacationing on your money and you won't be able to make it back?

Okay. I guess I feel the need to speak up...

First let me say this: "I am not 100% positive that Katie is the same woman who contacted me regarding the story to follow."

As many of you know, I had two female Het Pieds for sale recently. About a week or two ago, a woman (I think it was Katie or something close) called me to discuss the whole Heterozygous Piebald thing. She was clearly a newbie on all things genetic. She explained that she had been scammed out of $2900 for false Het Pieds. As she told it, she responded to an advertisement for three (0.3) Het Pieds for $2700. (Great deal, huh?) What she received was 1.2 obvious WILD CAUGHT animals. She contacted the seller and he mentioned that two orders had been mixed up. He promptly sent out three new animals...and she again paid shipping (another red flag)...but was able to keep the WC animals. (If my memory serves me correctly, she again recieved 1.2 animals.) The reason she contacted me was to get my opinion on the validity of these "Hets". It was obvious that she was a newbie, because her new concern was that these new hets looked nothing like the het male she recently purchased from Top Shelf Exotics. I explained to her that since this is a simple recessive trait, there is no way to discount the validity based on a comparison to another het. It took a while, but I think she finally grasped the concept of simple recessive and normal-looking hets. Regardless, this woman was very firm in her belief that she had been ripped off.

A few days later I saw a ReptiBid ad with a nearly identical story...an advertisement for 0.3 Heterozygous Piebalds with paperwork. This scared me a bit, so I immediately contacted Tosha and warned her. (Because we all know Tosha buys every animal in existence...especially Het Pieds.)

Anyway...as I said before: "I am not 100% positive that Katie is the same woman who contacted me regarding this story."

If this is the same person, it may be necessary to remember that it took a while to explain simple recessive genetics. She is definitely a newbie, so innocent mistakes could easily be made.

However...she was pretty certain that she had been ripped off.

I just want to point out...

If it stinks like a tuna, swims like a tuna and looks like a tuna......it is, in all likelihood, a tuna. This story has so many holes in it, trying to defend it is ridiculous.

Katie, fess up and try to salvage something out of this mess. The indirect statements of Mr. Bianco pretty much seal the lid on this mess.

By the way Wes, stick to detective work. The poetry community just called and asked you to resign your membership. (Actually it was pretty funny)

Was it a mobile phone that you got the call on? If so, your bill could show where the call came from.

Either way, Katie, did you call Chris? Was this you that made this call???

That would "seal the deal" on Katie, wouldn't it? :p

That doesn't look right. The numbers on the botton appear to have been added, they seem to have a shadow.

This whole thing is STILL real fishy. The numbers on the pictures don't match the numbers on the leftside column don't match the snakes and the snakes, in their MINISCULE pictures do NOT appear to be hatchlings.

And, didn't katie say she had hets? Doesn't that invoice PLAINLY state NORMAL females?

Perhaps it's on the invoices yet to be posted.

I STILL say we're in downtown Tunaville.

Very mistrusting aren't we? Sure its possible that the document has been altered. Will we ever really know? I guess it'll have to be a judgment call for people on whether they want to deal with this person in the future.

The way I'm reading the documentation is that the animals listed are the offspring of a trio consisting of a pied male to 2 normal females, which would make the offspring 100% hets.

I'm also confused as to why Mr. Harrison could not tell if the returned snakes were his hets or not, since he appears to have photographed all of his offspring. I don't own any BPs (yet) but I would think that having photos to compare to would make this pretty easy.

That could well be so, the pied male to the normal females.

Still, with pics of the babies, which apparently are included with the invoice, identification should be a snap.

Unless of course there is some underhanded shinnanigans going on.

Next stop, Mackeral Lane, ladies hosery(as in katie got HOSED) and implementia for cleaning the scum off.

but that pied male doesn't look very pied to me. But I'm sure it's just because its too small of a picture to really tell. Steve thanks for posting this. Funny how the only contact information for Mr. Harrison is the e-mail he doesn't ever answer. By the way, Steve did you make sure they were properly sexed, just in case?
 
Also...the added numbers on the bottom are numbers already appearing on the 'list' so that may be the sellers way of giving documentation for individuals from within these clutches.

One thing that would have bothered me if I was the buyer (and this may seem trivial but I'm a pretty particular when spending that much money) the signature of Mr. Harrison does not appear to be an authentic signature and looks more like the script typeface printed from a computer...I highly doubt this would hold up in court if anyone attempted to seek legal action aganist Mr. Harrison for misrepresenting animals.

That is also my reading. It seems the two animals that are "added" at the bottom refer to two of the animals on the form.

So am I confused by this. I would think that is the reason to have the pics in the first place.

Time will tell. Assuming they are a male and a female, give them a couple of clutches and come back to us in a few years with the results.

Until then....I think that I would pass on any of Katie's or Raymond Harrison's animals.
