    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Doc, I am not sure, if Kelli was hurt by a comment by Rich that she misunderstood, (even though Rich has explained what he meant prior to the backstabbing), why she and Marcia felt it necessary to heap verbal abuse on many others that were not directly involved.
In fact, given that Rich is a reasonable person, why didn't she email him to iron out this difference prior to pulling this bloody attempt at a coup d'etat by the considerable effort required to set up a new site?
I would think that if there is some desire to call a meeting of the minds to repair this devastation heaped on Fauna, Rich, and some others, (rather than perhaps an abrupt realization of what the burned bridge actually was going to mean), there would have been an attempt to communicate with me and the others that were wronged as well, to make amends for the horrendously derogatory language used to describe Rich, myself and others, and Fauna, and there has been no such communication.

And what exactly IS my attitude? How does a human being, in your opinion, act when confronted with being called painfully derogatory names? How do YOU react? Suppose I were to copy those comments from that thread and apply them to you? What would YOUR attitude be then?

My attitude, I assume, is that I am supposed to just take the name calling and bashing, smile a bit and say, "Gee, what a wonderful day! I think I will go perform an exorcism or two and call the Pope up for a chat."?
 
Yes Ron, you watchful SOB !! (he's a friend, and it is said respectfully). I was given warning points for the "too many lines thing", as I had a "space" line in there. I don't believe I made a complaint about it, as some have, although I did go and read the rule afterward, and am surprised you noticed ! Mr. Jefferson was worth the effort though !

The "other" thread, which a few of us have posted in, is in the sewer, which is pretty much where it began. While things have gotten testy here in this one, and maybe a few "post message" buttons were hit too quickly, the difference in the quality of the posts is night and day. There is more humor in some of the "FU, I'm off to post in paradise" final exit posts here than the writers ever intended. One of those "the grass is always greener ....." lessons in the making. Ah Grasshopper ........

You could have ignored it. It had no impact on your site. For god sake's man you are 55 years old and you reacted and overreacted. In my opinion (and you have made it abundantly clear that neither mine nor anybody else's opinion makes a bit of difference to you), it was done at the ultimate harm of this site, your reputation and the herp community as a whole.

Hell Rich, you should be hurt and pissed off! Anyone would be. I know that I would be. However, it's what you do with it from here that will speak of your character. ;) :)

Jamie, sorry you are so uptight about the warning point thing, but unless I thought this place can survive with NO rules (which I seriously doubt), some rules are necessary. And if there are rules, they have to be enforced when the infractions are noted. I believe every rule on this site is sufficiently explained as to WHY it is here. I still believe the warning point system is the best solution at hand for this job even if it obviously does piss off some people in the process.

Yes I would have ignored it if I was in YOUR position. As far as the warning points, it would be impossible for me to care any less about the system or how you implement it. I think its really easy for you to ding someone and accompany it with a snide comment or demeaning remark as you do but its your choice. My comment was in relation to the warning point for the signature, your choice of timing and the post that accompanied it.

"Oh yeah, Ro, I just noticed that Jamie is violating the rule on signature areas. Sorry, I'll take care of that right now....... Is THAT what you meant?"

It just came off ridiculous and reinforced what a lot of people are saying about your character as a person and more importantly, as the person running this site.
 
Furthermore Rich, why not address what YOUR mods (Owens and DThomas) have said in this thread about the way you handled things and continue to? We'll leave Lucille out of it because her post once again proves that she has never met a butt she won't smooch.

That is a completely seperate issue from what has happened between Rich and Kelli. Why would you try to lump them in together?

They stated their opinions about a few people, and I'm sure that it was hurtful to those involved. However, other than saying that they were insensitive to the feelings of others, what can you accuse them of doing wrong? They stated their opinions...that's not wrong. Insensitive...yes. Hurtful...yes. But wrong...no. What WAS wrong was to post derogatory comments on another forum about the owner of the website for which they were moderators. However, as I have outlined in previous posts, there is a long story behind why those comments were made.

First of all, they weren't trying to "pull a coup." Kelli had been planning on creating a gecko site for a long time. She just took action on her ideas after her feelings were hurt.

Second, how do you know she didn't try to talk with Rich?

I am not aware that "devastation" has been "heaped on Fauna." For that matter, I certainly wouldn't go as far as to say that "devastation" has been heaped on anyone. I would hardly call being called names "devastation."

As for the fact that no one has contacted you...well, with all due respect Lucille, you don't have anything to do with the problems between Kelli and Rich.

I agree. Lucille I know what they said hurt you and it would hurt me too. I don't agree that what was said was the cause if any devastation but what has happened since has been pretty bad. Who is to blame? Everyone, including me for not letting this simmer down and let both Kelli and Rich work this out on their own. I do not agree with what anyone did who posted in that thread but I believe the real damage has been done to the community because we have a split group now.

Hold on just a damn minute here! I have never once criticized Rich for anything that he has done in this situation! I have encouraged him to seek a peaceful resolution with Kelli, but I have most certainly never made any comments about the way he "handled things."

Do NOT try to use my posts in an effort to criticize or undermine Rich. You obviously have a personal problem with Rich. Fine, that's up to you, but leave me out of it.

Yep, I believe it. I certainly do believe you would have ignored it. Especially since the warning points have just rolled off your back like water off a duck's back. You are obviously impervious to being affected by what people may say about you. But heck, I'm insane, remember? :rofl:

Once again, you miss the point (or choose to ignore it rather than admit your glaring shortcomings). The warning points mean nothing. Its the fact that you get such joy out of giving a condescending tongue lashing to people with their warning points. Maybe you just need to be hugged more Rich. Although I certainly wouldn't volunteer for that assignment.

Well you don't know me. I am perfectly affable most of the time. I also don't run a forum. Rich might be a perfectly nice guy but a position of power over people (even as small as it is here) brings out a bad side. But I'm just speculating on all that.

Your post was reported. I read it, and agreed with the person who reported it that it was derogatory towards another member. I issued warning points accordingly.

I can assure you that you are not being "picked on." You have made a couple of other posts recently that were "pushing the envelope" which I could have given you warning points for if I had chosen to do so. Since Dennis and Ken are also reading this topic you might not be so lucky when they read your posts.
