In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well, long story made a little shorter, a couple of weeks later this person winds up completely DELETING all of the threads in his personal forum, in what I would have to opinion was a spiteful gesture. At which point I removed his moderator rights for his own personal forum. No other penalties were forthcoming except a PM to this member thanking him for that particular display.

Sorry if I'm a little late on this, but I don't understand why deleting those threads in my forum was such a problem. I was under the impression that it was my right to do so based on the description of the member forums:

You will be set up as the moderator of your own forum and have full control over what is posted within it. Topic matter is up to you, within reason of course. If you are interested in setting up a porn related message board, sorry, but this is not for you. I also request that profanity be prohibited under your guidance, bearing in mind that this site is visited by a lot of people who may be highly offended at seeing that kind of material here.

Rich, if the threads that were in my forum were/are really that valuable to you or the site, I would restore them and move them to other forums where applicable. However, I cannot do that since my moderating abilities for the forum I purchased have been removed.

Perhaps I broke some rule or agreement for the Member Forums that I am not aware of, but if that's the case I would like it pointed out to me. Also, if I am going to be denied the service that I paid for, I do expect a pro-rated refund for the forum as I requested in an email to which I did not receive a reply. Thanks.

Rich was talking about Scott Ashton not you. He deleted his posts in the Computer Forum and now those threads don't make any sense.

I apologize if I'm mistaken, but I don't recall Scott having a "Personal Forum". Also, from what I recall, Scott deleted posts, not threads.

I am having a similar issue. I paid $50 to have my own forum here also, and then once the unbanning happened, I realized that I am no longer the mod of my own personal forum that I paid for. I also emailed Rich asking if it was just an oversight, and if it was not, I asked that the forum be deleted. I have not received a reply about the issue.

Also, what is the deal with user attachments? Are we no longer able to go in and delete them?

Well Kelli, What is you reason behind wanting to delete them?

Well Kelli, What is you reason behind wanting to delete them?

Wanting to delete my attachments? Well, because they are my images of my animals and family and I want to delete some of them now. The reason that I want to delete them isn't really the issue. The issue is, why now, am I not able to, when other members are? After all, several of my images in my photo gallery were deleted (not by me) so why is it that I am not able to access my attachments? That is all I am asking.

Are all the PMs gone too? I don't even have a link to them any more...

Now Kelli, don't you think removing those images would leave gaps in these threads and posts? I mean, if you said something like: Look at my new gecko, and then that image was deleted. That would be a odd post, would it not?

I disagree, it is a issue, as stated above.

A simple right click of the mouse is all that is needed to copy your image. Why would it then be needed to be deleted from this site? So, you do indeed have access to your attachments. But you have failed to give a vaid reason for wanting to delete them.

No one is able to edit posts anymore.....

Oh, ok. So are the attachments now tied into the posts somehow? I was under the impression that paid members still had access to manage their attachments. For instance, when their quota is reached on the amount of space they are allowed for attachments, they could go in and delete some of the ones they no longer needed.

Let's look at the facts of the matter here, Paul.

The first issue we had to face was the fact that you conspired with some other members to use your personal forum as a form of vendetta towards the person who was at that time the moderator of the Bearded Dragon discussion forum. What you and others intended to do was to try to undermine my efforts to get the discussion forums more active by attempting to use your personal forum as an alternate bearded dragon forum in order to spite the moderator's efforts I had asked him to try to accomplish there. Now I do expect threads to be within those personal forums that would discuss topics that would certainly be also appropriate within other discussion forums here, and that would have been perfectly OK. However, what you and others engaged in was NOT of that nature at all and was purposely and maliciously done in spite, in my opinion. In our discussions via private messages, you admitted to this fact. In my opinion, this was a juvenile and spitefull thing to do, and I told you so in no uncertain terms. My opinion on that is unchanged.

During the course of the pms between us, you got agitated and told me plainly and distinctly that you intended to never come back to this site again. At which time, since I trusted you were sincere in that statement, I removed you as the moderator of the Dog discussion forum. Sorry, but if you were the moderator of another discussion forum, I just do not recall, but if you were, that moderatorship would have been removed as well. This seemed to me to be a reasonable step to take. I don't need any absentee moderators here, quite frankly.

The next thing in the sequence of events was when you vindictively (in my opinion) deleted ALL of the threads within your own personal forum. Upon noticing your action, I then removed you as the moderator of that forum, as you had clearly and unambiguously abused that privilege there.

Quite frankly, you obviously and purposely abused the use of your personal forum in two separate instances, listed above. A fact which you seem unable or unwilling to understand. The moderator rights within the personal forums are to allow the person who runs it to take responsibility for spam or any other garbage of that sort that may take place there. Any reported posts made in a forum of that nature has that notice go to the moderator and not to me. This, I felt, was fair, in that the moderator could make his or her own decision about what posts of that nature would constitute abuse or inappropriateness and they could deal with it on their own instead of my having to deal with it. In effect, I allow the moderators to be the cleanup crew within that forum to help take the garbage out. This was certainly not intended to be treated as a carte blanche for someone to just take it upon themselves to delete ALL threads in a forum while in a tiff over something.

Under the circumstances, you paid for a personal forum, and you got it, whether you choose to use it or not. The moderator powers were just a perk I offered and are not at all necessary for you do use your personal forum as it is intended. Now, if you find something that is inappropriate within your own forum, you simply have to report it and I will deal with it as I deem appropriate. All you have had removed is your ability to inflict further abuse within that forum.

Now Kelli, don't you think removing those images would leave gaps in these threads and posts? I mean, if you said something like: Look at my new gecko, and then that image was deleted. That would be a odd post, would it not?

But Bobby, what about when users reach their allowed amount of attachment storage and have to go in and delete some of their attachments in order to upload new ones? Wouldn't THOSE deleted images leave gaps in the threads and posts also? What exactly is the difference?

A simple right click of the mouse is all that is needed to copy your image. Why would it then be needed to be deleted from this site? So, you do indeed have access to your attachments. But you have failed to give a vaid reason for wanting to delete them.

My valid reason is that I no longer want certain images that belong to me being available on this site. Is that valid enough?

It was a perk you offered? No, it was stated that for $50 we (the owners of our own forums here) would be able to have control over what was posted in them.

You will be set up as the moderator of your own forum and have full control over what is posted within it.

Rich, why can't you just delete mine and Paul's forums? It would be quite easy to do. I couldn't care less about the $50, I just no longer want the forum. Why is it that you want our forums here anyway?
