KelliH and others Banned? Why?

Because of recent abuses from a couple of members and ex-members of this site, all editing and deleting has been suspended. There is clearly the potential for some individuals to act with malicious and spiteful intentions of doing purposeful harm to the threads on this site. When I feel that these privileges can safely be restored again, I will do so. Not an INSTANT before.

Well, that is very valid. IMO, not a great answer, but very valid. I think we can see now why you are wanting access to remove all of your attachments. But IMO, the reason you are giving is not a good enough one to give you that. I don't think what Scott done is right in the least, and to knowingly let you do the same would be not be good for this site, IMO.

Knowingly let me do what? I would not go back and delete all my posts here, that would be ridiculous. All I want to do is delete some of the attachments I have uploaded. If the deleting attachments are somehow directly tied into editing posts then I can see why I am not able to delete my images. But the weird thing is, I have spoken to a couple of other people that are members here, and their attachments still have little checkboxes beside them that they can chek and then delete them. I guess I felt like I was being singled out, but perhaps that is not the case, regarding the managing of attachments.

It was a perk you offered? No, it was stated that for $50 we (the owners of our own forums here) would be able to have control over what was posted in them.

That does not include for abusive and malicious purposes.

You will be set up as the moderator of your own forum and have full control over what is posted within it. Topic matter is up to you, within reason of course.

Using the forum in an abusive or malicious manner is NOT within reason, in my opinion. Personally, I do not believe your request to have moderator rights back for your personal forum are for altruistic reasons.

Rich, why can't you just delete mine and Paul's forums? It would be quite easy to do. I couldn't care less about the $50, I just no longer want the forum. Why is it that you want our forums here anyway?

In Paul's case, I think it is a fitting reminder to me, and an enlightening reference to others, why I have had to take the steps I did to protect this site from certain individuals. His actions along with those of Scott Ashton are ample evidence of why a lockdown on editing and deleting posts was necessary to do here.

As for your personal forum, Kelli, when the year it was leased has run out, then it will be removed. Up till that time, you can use it or not.

It may be that the other persons are referring to posts within the classifieds section. Editing and deleting there is still enabled. I hope I covered everywhere else.....

Honestly, Kelli, I was surprised at both Paul Sage's and Scott Ashton's actions. I really thought better of them. Based on some quotes I saw from you, I don't really find your apparent sincerity all that moving, and as admin to this site I have to act in a manner that is better safe then sorry.

In our discussions via private messages, you admitted to this fact. In my opinion, this was a juvenile and spitefull thing to do, and I told you so in no uncertain terms. I admitted it wasn’t the right thing to do, I told you that I was avoiding a certain forum because of the moderator, I apologized, and the “abuse” stopped. I’m not sure what else you want me to do about it.

The next thing in the sequence of events was when you vindictively (in my opinion) deleted ALL of the threads within your own personal forum. Upon noticing your action, I then removed you as the moderator of that forum, as you had clearly and unambiguously abused that privilege there.

Like I told you, I didn’t want the forum any more, and if I could have deleted the whole thing I would have. That’s why I deleted the posts. Nothing vindictive about it. Jim O’s member forum was deleted shortly after he was fined and the forum went dormant, so I was hoping mine would be deleted as well.

Under the circumstances, you paid for a personal forum, and you got it, whether you choose to use it or not. The moderator powers were just a perk I offered and are not at all necessary for you do use your personal forum as it is intended. Now, if you find something that is inappropriate within your own forum, you simply have to report it and I will deal with it as I deem appropriate. All you have had removed is your ability to inflict further abuse within that forum.

Rich, when I purchased the member forum it clearly stated that I would have moderator capacities within that forum. As far as I’m concerned, that was part of an agreement, or TOS. You may call it a “perk” but it was still part of the deal. If you didn’t want customers deleting threads from their forums, perhaps you should have spelled that out. Had I known that moderating abilities may be subject to revocation, I may not have purchased it.

I wasn't going to use it in an abusive or malicious manner. I was going to delete some of the threads I started in my forum that I no longer wanted anyone and everyone to be able to read and reply to, since I cannot edit or delete posts. You can not equate that action as being maliscious or abusive. Well, on second thought, you probably could. Most people wouldn't though.

Umm, that would be a NOT LOL. I think the "lease" is up in February. maybe I will use it until then. Maybe if I upload enough attachments I will then be able to go back in and delete some of them. *Note* this is just a joke, I will not be posting in my personal forum.

Sorry, Sammy, but the way I am handling this is the way I am calling it. I unbanned those members, and they have a personal forum available to them whether they want to use it or not. If I had removed it, then I certainly would have been the bad guy then too.

As for editing and deleting, I can't just partially enable those rights. It's either all or nothing. And quite frankly, I am not willing to take the risk on that one. Sorry if you see this differently, but I have to call it as I think is best.

How are you the bad guy when they have requested it be taken down? That don't make any sense to me.

People [use to] delete attachments when their allotment filled up, so that they could post new stuff, all the time. I can find you all kinds of threads where all you see is the little red x. This would be no different.
I know Rich has stopped all editing, so this is kind of a moot point, but thought I would point it out since it seems weird that YOU are the one demanding Kelli give a valid reason for her request, and then determining whether it's appropriate

Yes but, they mean something to me. They are my images that belong to me, and I would like to remove some of them that are of a more personal nature. The same goes with my own personal forum. There are some very personal posts I made in there that I would like to remove now. I would probably want to remove them even if all the banning and stuff hadn't happened. I made the choice to post them, now I choose to remove them. Does that make any sense?

Oh, you are quite mistaken on that issue. I had an established business and was very well known in this industry well before Fauna or the BOI even existed. Most of my customers have never even heard of Fauna Classifieds, and many of the people that post, or used to post, on the Leopard Gecko Forum are/were here because of a referral from guess who? Me.

See thats just it Kelli's attachments do mean something TO HER, some of those are of her children and at the time attachments were posted it was an easy go to the CP and go to manage attachments then click a box and delete them, that has now changed for some. It doesn't make a rat's behind if they mean anything to you or anyone else, they are Kelli's pics and they are hers to want taken down.

I went in to delete photos of my children, I did not mean for them to be here for the entire life of the site but long enough tot get some replies. I could nto delete them because they were in kelli's forum, I asked Rich to take care of it and he did.

I could and still can delete attachments in all places except the BOI since I did this less than 48 hours ago, so why can't others?

And how much have you sold on faunaclassifieds, I think we all know we come here to congreate and share not to sell, most sell on the other classifieds where most do not go to chat and mingle.

Kelli and Paul paid for a service a service they no longer want, if you want your phoen cut off its gone and the number is issued elsewhere, if you want you cable service cut off it is. So what is the difference? JimO's was taken down without his request or concern.

Who is the little "birdie" that has a supposed "fake user name" and a suposed "fake IP" that had to start all this shit in the first place that you are so sure to protect Rich.

This person should be very proud of all the conflict they have created by sending you to Kelli's TEMPORARY site in the first, so why not have this person just come on up and take the credit where credit is due?

Why do you let poeple like that, that will use a fake user name and fake IP hide behind you, that is so the kind of people I want to protect, I live to protect people that can go run and tell in a blank box but can't stand up under their own name and say hey, look at this, what you do think?
