Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Kenyan size at 2 years

I was given an awesome deal on a yearling kenyan that had trouble eating early in life but started up again so she was sold to me. Anyways When I bought her she was about a year old and still the same size as many 3 month old kenyans. I have had her for about 6 month so she will be 2 in august. From what I can tell she still hasnt grown, although she eats like a cow. I was feeding her 2 pinkies a week, but after 6 months and very little to no change in size i slowed her down to 1 large pinky to small fuzzy. Is she stunted? Will she ever grow to normal size? Should I keep her out of my breeding colony if she does grow to normal size? Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

I don't know much about kenyans, but I'd probably be inclined to let her pig out and hope it triggers a growth spurt. Unless she starts growing and ends up normal size, I probably wouldn't breed her. It's hard to tell if her eating problems stem from defect or some shortfall in her previous home. If she's just had a rough start, now that she's eating maybe she'll have a growth spurt.

I wouldn't breed her unless she weighs 200 g. But at only 2 yrs she should be able to grow more. Keep them mice comin'. Also, I've read and experienced that if you feed them smaller meals more frequently, they tend to grow faster. Pinkys are a good source of fat that are easily and quickly digested. bigger is not always better.
