In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Kevin Roberts D&J Reptiles - Bad Guy

"You gys shouldnt criticize about Kevn if you havent done any business in the past with him. "

I'm really tired of seeing bits of "non-logic" such as the above written here! The whole point of the BOI is to out "Bad Guys," and part of that is hewing out the details concerning what makes one "Bad!" If only those with whom the "Bad Guy" has previously dealt may speak, what's the point of a public forum at all?????

If the guy is shipping snakes via USPS and will not back his animals and their health, then he needs to be labeled a Bad Guy by any and everyone that has even a modicum of common sense! The fact that there are relatively few who have personally dealt with the guy in no way invalidates the opinions of known good guys about his shady and illegal practices!!

Just to clear things up. Maybe my last statements were taken wrong? If the person who recieved the specimens knowingly agreed to shipping by USPS on the snake then, yes he could be prosecuted. However, if the shipper took it upon themselves to change the shipping methods say from.. Delta, UPS etc. to USPS then it will come down on the shipper. Also, I think that if the shipper changes the method of shipping they should confirm with the customer before doing so. Also, everyone should confirm each persons policies before purchase. I've seen some companies that place "Not responsible for carrier error" within their policies. This means that if the shipper delivers late, overheats or cools the shipment , or damages it, they are not responsible. Others have not responsible if temps under 40 or over 90 degrees. Still others do not guarantee live arrival on amphibians. So it comes down to accepting shipping methods or policies of those you purchase from. In regards to my statement of,"if the is no live arrival guarantee your SOL.. Well, that would never be the case with me but, I have seen it happen. Buyer beware. Sellers also. You can get taken on both sides. (1)Again, (I) would would not ship snakes USPS. (2)If I had shipped the customer regardless of method, I would guarantee live arrival. (3) I would require "Proof" of DOA.(4) I would file a claim against the carrier and replace the specimen for the customer, not make them file and then wait. It's a hard call sometimes when you have to replace a specimen. There are standards but, it's up to both the customer and the seller to
hold up to both sides. Thanks Ray Goushaw Herpetological Breeding Research

File a complaint with [email protected]
Basically he is using their services to rip money off of people.
He is also using their services to steal pictures from people.
he is also using their services to represent these stolen pictures as his own.
Everyone who was taken by this guy or stolen from needs to file a complaint right now.
also include the link to this thread as well as telling your whole story.
Sorry guys. this post of mine was supposed to go to another thread...not this one

Hmmmmm Update?

Well, I have emailed Mr. Roberts a few times and have heard nothing back from him. Yesterday I emailed him and gave him to today to reply before I file my complaint. I have already obtained the required forms from the USPS and have already filed the complaint with PayPal. During this time I have also been in contact with Danny at D&J reptiles. Although D&J really has nothing to do with this, Danny promised to try to talk some sense in to Kevin. If I don't hear from Kevin some time today the complaint with USPS will be filed, although I don't have the animal I do have plenty of photos and the original shipping box. As soon as I picked up the package for the first time I could already smell the dead snake.. and just to cover my own arse, I took photos of every step of me opening the package.

I will post another update if anything changes, thanks for the support...

Jack

I got those 6 greentree from Kevin Roberts and this deal has nothing to do with DnJ. Kevin got those snakes from a shipment that was sent by Danny from DnJ. As far as i know, Those snakes are the hand picked by him and they are DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. You gys shouldnt criticize about Kevn if you havent done any business in the past with him.

That's all fine but as has been discussed on this forum many times in the past, the true definition of a sellers character is how he/she deals with a transaction gone bad and a dissatisfied customer. You're fortunate that your animals arrived in good condition, if they arrived in the same condition as the animal delivered to Charles you might have been singing an entirely different tune.

The reptile community is a small one and with the popularity of the internet increasing it gets smaller everyday. Makes it hard for me to understand why Kevin would be willing to tarnish his reputation over a bad deal where the buyer CLEARLY has done nothing wrong, perhaps he doesn't care what sort of rep he has = dangerous person to deal with in my opinion. CE is well known in our community...I don't need to get burned by Kevin in order to form an opinion of him. Charles experience is enough to convince to steer far clear of him...I'm sure not alone.

Charles,

In what are you going to base your complaint with USPS?

Regards.

Update ******

I still have not heard from Kevin Roberts.. Paypal, has closed the case because of the type of goods being exchanged, but I reopened it again anyway. I have spoken to the local post office and am trying to figure out the best way to get this resolved... more on tuesday after my trip to the PO. This guy must pay!!!! I am also filing with the BBB , and FBI internet fraud unit. I am also speaking with Fish ad Wildlife (got a friend there).

Wish me luck

You may also want to go through D&J also, they are tied to this guy too and have a business intrest in this this whether they know it or not. All that hype of them breeding Green and Blue tree monitors dosen't mean anything if somebody like me won't trust them enough to purchase one. If guys like Kevin Roberts are the type they hire or let use their name then I know my money isn't safe spending it with them.

I won't be buying from Kevin Roberts or D&J after what I've read. Thanks for the heads up Charles.

Charles clearly deserves a refund here. CE, make sure he pays one way or the other and thanks for the heads up on this moron.

KINGSNAKE

A complaint with kingsnake should also be lodged if it hasn't already. Don't expect a lot of action, but it's worth doing.

Shipping USPS...

From what I understand it's illegal to ship snakesthrough USPS, but not lizards. I ship with USPS for lizards regularly and always make a call a few days before I ship just to see if any regulations have changed, I also clearly mark my packages,I have to say that the other day I chose NOT to ship USPS and shipped UPS, well UPS screwed up royally and it took 5 days for an overnight package of baby bearded dragons to arrive, I've had prior issues with USPS taking a day longer, but NEVER 4 days longer, so needless to say I'll stick with USPS for now, UPS also charged me $50 more than USPS to ship and overnight package.

Really I'd prefer to not ship at all, but we know that's not always the way to go...

Welcome to UPS

That's standard operational procedure for UPS.

I had a female Blue Tree monitor a few months back that was being shipped via UPS over night....4 days later a dead lizard arrived and UPS only refunded the shipper the $15 or so bucks for overnight delievery they failed to provide. I'm surprised there isn't a class action lawsuit on them... this happens to so many people.

Ralph Chapman

That's the saddest thing I've ever heard. (I love blue tree monitors).
USPS doesn't even guarantee their 'overnight' shipping to most places, so when you ship things through them there's really not a good chance it's going to arrive the next day. I went through that same thing with a turtle (the difference being he was a $50 turtle and he lived). I think there's some sort of package insurance you can buy, but you really shouldn't have to.

Erin Benner

This is why I hate to ship...

Ya, see both ways of shipping (USPS and UPS) each have their thing. I always add insurance to my USPS package and still it's always cheaper than UPS, that and like I said before, I've never had the same problem as I had with UPS. UPS only has like $100 shipping insurance with the price, if you want more you have to pay more, and most of my shipments are considerably over $100.

The situations you guys are describing are why I will likely be keeping all future shipping transactions through the airlines. May be more expensive and a pain, but I at least know A)my animals will arrive, and B) should something go wrong, I WILL be covered no matter what.
