In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Kimberly Mingus

shipping in such a way as to put its life in extreme danger, while very likely creating whatever circumstance led to its untimely demise

That is a far, far reach. We do not know if in fact this critter was overheated, whether a heat pack was called for, etc. At the very least the buyer is responsible for some contributory negligence for putting the critter out in the sun if she thought there was a heat issue.
I have sent a link to Reptile Express, I hope Debby will weigh in about the heat pack issue.

Let's leave no stone unturned in our effort to remove any degree of responsibility from the seller.

Don't play games. Asking for proof of death is not some bizarre request. Parties are asked all the time here to provide information so that readers can better understand the situation.
If new information were posted I would not stick like a limpet to a position that was no longer tenable, so requests for more information by either side is not something to be quashed.

We have reached a possible replacement agreement. One of my friends is sending her a baby he was saving for me. I would rather give it to her and clear all this up. Everyone has bad days and although it's not a good excuse for how I acted I can't change the past. Things will be made right and life will go on. As to what killed the girl, the world may never know.

I'm glad the both of you came to a possible agreement. I think that outlook of trying to making things right is commendable.

Ok let me try to explain more in detail on the situation. When the box arrived it was obviously warm to the touch, which sent me to alarm right away. I hurried to open the box, when I did, in all honesty it felt like a oven inside. I really thought I would be taking out a dead dragon. I get her out and her eyes arent opening but as I move her around she is responsive. I let her sit in my hand for a little while to let her body core cool down, then she was placed in room temp water with paper towels so she could be propped up safely and still lay her head down in complete safety. I then proceeded to just watch her progress from there. It took all day of intensive care to get her eyes open. I also contacted Charles Schurman to see if there is any other thing that I was missing to help her fully recover. By that evening I transferred her to her enclosure and let her lights turn off for the night like everyone else. In the morning after her lights were on for a little while to get her warmed up, I offered her a few baby dubia and she ate a couple. Well by then I was sooooo excited, I felt that all the hard work had paid off and she was on the road to recovery. That day it reached low 80s and well I felt natural sunlight and fresh air was more beneficial than fake so she got to go outside with my other sunbathers. Under close supervision she did well. By no means did she ever reach a 100%, she was never a hyper inquisitive baby beardie that we all know. She was very reserved but did move around and seemed to be regulating her temps. With the ordeal of her travel I felt time would be needed and one day I would have a happy hyper baby, I was devoted to see this happen. Then when I went to check on her that morning and she had passed it broke my heart, I devoted so much to her, I really had become so attached. Yes my communication was horrible from there, thats when my mother in law fell and my families life was turned upside down on getting her better. Yes I do have proof of death, this was thought of fleetingly days later, so they are horrid and if Kimberly would like to see them she is more than welcome. I cried the whole time, not how I wanted to remember my baby girl. Yes you can tell me Im too sensitive, I may be, all I know is I truly care for each individual life and do my best to make sure they get my heart n soul on keeping them happy and healthy.

I agree they are both reimbursement...but she never specified if she wanted one or another after being offered a replacement AFTER the sellers guarantee lapsed...which she didn't have to do. Seller offered reimbursement of some kind, OP never accepted. For the seller to still be trying to work it out with her is going above and beyond to me
Did the buyer decline the offer? Did the seller state that it was an exploding offer, only good until a certain time? Since she moved out most of her collection in the time it took the OP to get back to her, she can't be expected to supply one of the babies that she originally offered. However, that doesn't negate her obligation to follow through on that offer. Maybe that's "going above and beyond", to you. To me, that's simply doing what should be expected in such a situation. While we may not know 100% what ultimately killed the dragon, what's been shown is more than enough to say that there's an excellent chance that the seller's shipping led to the death. Were that not the case, then I'd agree with you in thinking that her offer was gracious.

We have the buyer's word to show that it was overheated, as well as the seller's admission that she was "worried about the heat pack." So, unless our heads are lodged up some dark nether region, or we have some serious reason to doubt the buyer's word; we do know that all clues point to the extreme likelihood that it was indeed overheated.

Operating under the ASSumption that there was any degree of thought put into the outdoor enclosure, there's a world of difference between being in direct sunlight with the ability to move into a shaded area; and being in a styrofoam-lined cardboard box with minimal ventilation and a heat source only inches away. If you had any real interest in knowing what happened, perhaps you should ask about the layout of this outdoor enclosure, since you seem to think that that played some part in the dragon's death. Maybe you're simply not interested in hearing that which may disprove your little theory? :shrug01:

Maybe you can point out where the seller made such a request? I surely missed it. If the buyer's word was good enough for her, I personally don't give a damn about what you want to see, 8 weeks after the fact; nor should the buyer be bound by your request to provide proof that may no longer exist. It's a little late to play that card, though I see you're going to give it your best shot.

Very big of you.

We are working on coming to an agreement on this and just wanted to take the time to thank everyone for their view on this matter. I will post when all is resolved.

I see no reason the two of you can't work this out and looks like a resolution is at hand. I look forward to seeing both post that the resolution is complete and all both are satisfied.

As for everything else, I think both parties admitted mistakes. As a reader I'll take them both at their word.

Yes I admit I was lacking on communication, May was a bad month for me. My mother in law took a bad fall and stayed with us for quite a bit of May. I was completely consumed in my mother in law, my son and my animals care, I barely slept

I'm at fault for not posting my guarantee I'll admit that. I normally do 48 hours but I never sent that to her. Bad on me I know. I thought she didn't want a baby after not replying to my message. We both assumed things and were wrong about it.

Good luck to the two of you.

Everyone, an agreement has been made and I will be receiving a replacement Tuesday a Hypo Trans Leather female that will fit in with my current breeding projects perfectly. I also have received a heartfelt apology that I also have accepted and I will also continue keeping her as a FB friend as long as she will have me. Yes things got out of hand but we all have bad moments in life, to me whats important to learn from them. I appreciate everyones input and thank you all.
