Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Having a complaint and talking trash are two different things.
I am not certain exactly why you were kicked off Kingsnake....but if you are going to talk bad about someone's business...you should expect that they may decide to decline serving you.

Kingsnake provides a LOT of good exposure to businesses and hobbyists.

To bash them is not so wise.
But, to bash them and then whine about not being allowed to continue doing business with them is...well, rather childish.
Perhaps if you give it a little time and contact them with an "I'm Sorry" they might reinstate your account?

OK this is stupid here...ya talked some crap and you were booted. Plain and simple right ?! well no it is not. the warning system there is such that it is at thier whim with or without a warning, kind of like Iraq, over there ya talk crap and it depends on who you are on whether you get beheaded or blown up.
Here at Fauna [kind of like here in the U.S.] there is a warning system with a multitude of points until you are booted and you are the subject of much scrutiny by your peers for your actions.
Just a simple comparison here :) :D a bit harsh ....yeah it is but ya play with spiders and snakes and someday you will get bit :ack2:

Wasn't it just last year that quite a few members, including Fauna sponsors, were banned from Fauna without any warning because they talked crap on another forum?
 
There was a bit more to it than that Olivia. There are a couple of threads on the matter if you want to research the details.

They were MODS here and were talking crap about other MODS on this site. BIG difference. :smash:

I'm so over all of that stuff but I have to correct you Stephanie: not all of those banned were moderators. Some were just regular members that might have or might not have said something negative about a Fauna moderator. So let's keep our facts straight, shall we.
 
I was hesitant to comment, because I just didn't want to dredge that crap up again. I think the initial few that were banned were forum mods. Most of the subsequent bannings, including the majority of the Ban ME crowd were the result of the general ugliness that followed.
While I suppose it was only a matter of time before somebody made that comparison, I feel it was in rather poor taste. That type of thing is NOT the norm here, and anybody that pays even a bit of attention knows that Rich and the site mods are actually pretty darned tolerant of people voicing their opinions...even if they are contradicting current policy or downright nasty in nature.

Yes, let's keep the facts straight...Many of the regular members that were banned were BECAUSE of the Mods that got banned for their behavior...They went on a whole "if they're banned...ban me" spree. Let's keep that fact straight, shall we. :NoNo:

I also see a BIG difference between Fauna and Kingsnake as far as the banning that is going on. Kingsnake I think is looked at as more of a business while Fauna is looked at as more of a community. The hits that Kingsnake is taking for their decision (which I think is a great step in the right direction) would cause them to determine how to protect their business and that will include choosing to no longer do business with an individual.

Are they suspending people who have advertising accounts or are they banning those that don't advertise but frequent the forums?
 
I'm not going to fall into this trap, Stephanie. I'm quite pleased to be here and I am happy to help out. I have my own way of looking at things you have your way. There are similarities between both situations and there are differences. I'm not going to comment further on the matter.
 
There is really no reason to add salt to old wounds, guys. I'm sure if one were to rub hard enough, they could still find pain there. That is water under the bridge, and many of the people are back. Leave it alone.

Fact of the matter is this... Kingsnake.com is not just for Reptiles, they have forums to cover just about any and all pets / animals available. It is quite obvious that it in itself is in the business to sell space, and provide a service. If at any point they decide that having you as a member of their forum / community becomes counter productive by going out and talking about how it "should be easy enough to create a community that would rival them" then so be it. Someone voiced their opinion.... and so did they. You voiced in so many words that they are too powerful, and someone should make a site to "rival them", and they gave you the opportunity to do that... they locked you out of their site so you would have more time to work on your "rival" site.
I look at it this way.... just because you create an account on a site, doesn't give you the right to do whatever you want wherever you want. I can honestly tell you, if I had someone on my site that was on another site posting remarks against me, mundane or not, Sorry, but you would be banned. Just like if someone was talking behind my back about my snakes, and then they come to me down the road to buy from me... wouldn't happen... you have but one opportunity to make a first impression.... you burn that bridge, good luck getting across the river..
