That is one of the values America is built on.

It is true, if one gives freedom of speech one is not always going to be pleased with that speech, but that is part of the deal.

It would be good if at times more restraint was used when people talk here, but there are systems in place to try to persuade people who go overboard, to be a little less abusive in their language so that this site dos not become a 24 hour bar room brawl. But remember, the more you police people, the more you lose the freedom to say what you wish. That is a precious freedom.

Different sites have different views and there is no reason not to have both kinds of sites, just as there is no reason not to have both churches and nightclubs and behave appropriately at each.

That may be true but not many of them are not posting on fauna. His is not a religion he believes he is a jedi battling the Dark side. Read his posts. point I was trying to make. Barringer Lost Control Years Ago !

Jeff lost control of his site several years ago. I think it is because of two things - his head finaaly exceeded his ego and he branched out into too many other things on his site like concerts, etc.,....I recently went onto the forums - specifically rat snakes - asking about leucistic baird's. I wasn't picking a fight, just wanted to know the truth as to whether they really existed since I had never heard of leucy baird's. I also posted this topic here. Barringers idiots pulled the post and said it was because I was violating their advertising rules in the TOS. You will notice rather easily that VERY FEW who post regularly in the forums on KS, ever come here. I've posted my last post there and KS can kiss my collective backside. Barringer is a moron.

Doesn't specifically say it in their TOS, but I have seen and/or heard of more than one ad being pulled for this reason.

Kingsnake has a set of terms describing how ads can be posted with regards to pricing. They want whole dollar amounts posted for animals or groups of animals and they have a line about prices being realistic. The intention, looking at it impartially and logically, was to prevent people from abusing the classifieds system with non-ads; someone showing off photos and listing a price that could fund NASA for a few months or people with ambiguous prices where animals were sold by weight (variable) or length (unlisted).

Unfortunately it's come up a few times where individual KS classified moderators felt someone's price was a little too high or a little too low and have pulled ads. The question becomes one of degree, a person listing an ad for a seventeen trillion dollar leopard gecko is pretty clearly not creating the post with an intention of actually selling the animal... but a person 100% higher than their competitors or 50% below likely is looking for that amount.

It's a good concept for a rule that has, in a few (maybe a few more than a few... sometimes) select instances, been poorly applied due to ambiguous wording.

each site can govern themselves as they see fit.
I think they are smart enough to know we have differnt ips and live in

Hey I was catching up on the posts and my BF came up to see what I was reading and he started reading over my shoulder just now....he said "Hey, I thought this was supposed to be a place to talk about reptiles, what's up with all this stuff? These people attack each other like a bunch of kids. I thought you read this stuff to learn about reptiles, where's that part of the site?" This is a total outside opinion from someone who has never looked at Fauna before.....he said "Tell them to grow up and act like adults."
