    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

oh come on. you know damn well you were posting thinly veiled scam warnings about the guy who posted that ad - violation of the rules. And it's long been established that the moderators there do not allow discussion of posted ads on the forums. Whether or not you or I or anyone else agrees with it or not, discussion of someones ad (good or bad) is in fact promoting that ad on behalf of the person who posted it - a violation of the advertising rule.

OK, I understand that, it makes good sense to keep people from using the classifieds to show off an animal with an outrageous price.

However if someone is pricing their animals just a bit higher or a bit lower than the average, who are they to judge it and force a different price to keep the ad alive? No matter how it's looked at, it is Price Fixing. They may want to concider having their legal department view ads being pulled for pricing before they are actually pulled.

It was census forms, and it is not regarded as a religion. One can list anything they want as their "religion', such as Pastafarian (belief in the flying spaghetti monster) or IPU (invisible pink unicorn).

I saw it stated somewhere (tv i think) that it was the second largest religion because of that practical joke. I think that is a joke in it's self though. :rofl:

Personally i think this thread is a not to well veiled attempt at bad mouthing a competing site. I know ill get banned for this but about 90 percent of my collection was bought threw ks, all great deals never a problem. In fact the one time i all most had a problem i brought it hear and the post didn't go any where. I guess all sites have their buddies........ I just want to know can I start a good guy thread every time I do a great deal on ks? :thumbsup:

You would not get banned here for making purchases elsewhere. In fact, the main draw for this site, the BOI, is to help people prior to making purchases and not necessarily here. So, wherever you go, this site can help you and is set up to help you.

Can to share any facts you have to back this up? The OP has nothing to do with the administration or moderation of this site what so ever. Unless you are making "a not to well veiled attempt at" accussing the adminstration of this site of making a ghost registration and orchestrating this entire thread.

Its not everyones intention on this thread to bash any competition. Thats not how it works here. You are free to post about any positive or negative experience you have. Many Fauna users also use KS. Your not required to choose here nor will you be banned unless you violate the rules.

I've bought from ads on KS as well, and didn't have a problem with the seller(s) either.... and your point is???

Your statement has nothing to do with what the OP is talking about or anything else posted here about KS. You're talking about sellers on KS not about KS admins and mods.

I'm a member on KS and I've never had a problem with the site/admins/mods. I do have an issue with someone trying to control prices and I did voice my opinion on that issue in this thread.

I'm curious as to what facts caused you to arrive at your erroneous and ill informed conclusion. The fact of the matter is that, while Rich and Jeff have butted heads before, they do not view each other as competition. Each site fills a particular niche in the herp community. It helps to be informed about a topic before you arrive at some sort of conclusion, otherwise, you'll just end up sticking your foot in your mouth.

You claim that the one time you almost had a problem, the thread "went nowhere." 18 replies and over 1,200 views is hardly "nowhere." Not to mention the fact that the thread ended with an apology from Ken Foose.

I have had hundreds of transactions on KS and a supporter of this site as well. Fauna doesn't ban you for mentioning another site. The sites are are not the same with vastly different rules for posting.

Yes, you can still post threads. Rich doesn't care where you buy your animals. BOI posts aren't just for purchases on Fauna. The threads here are mostly about individual dealers and span the net with no regard of which classified system you purchased on.

So, even though you have come on here and stated your thread went nowhere, That you will get banned for mentioning KS, That this is a veiled attempt by this site to bash KS, you will still be allowed to post here. Even with all those statements being false and insulting. Unless you break the rules for posting on this site, you are free to continuing posting your untruthful statements. But, you will be called on those statements.


Rich is a better man than I. Personally, I would have gotten tired of this long ago and just got KS on trolls that come here with the sole purpose to degrade the administration of the site. This site is for your benefit. You are given the opportunity to research your purchases. It doesn’t run the way everyone wants it (it’s impossible) and there are attempts to better it. Each attempt makes someone unhappy. But, hey, you will still be able to post here.

KS...The reason I came here - sort of !

Actually, I saw a site called my space. com/faunaking and it was very interesting. It BLASTS both this site and KS to H E double hockey sticks. Man that guy is P O'D ! All sites have thier downfalls, but also thier strengths. This one just seems to allow more BS than KS which does not allow ANY at all. I love 'em all, but Barringer has lost his fat mind.
 
One thing kingsnake.com does or used to do that I think is ridiculous is censor the words "faunaclassifieds.com" and "BOI". If you typed that in one of your posts there it would either not show up at all or the letters would be replaced by *'s.
 
Does kingsnake actually think that fauna is that much of a threat? They actually used to blank out the words faunaclassifeds and BOI? What a joke. :rofl:

KS is a large, well organized site that appears to be making quite a bit of money on its classifieds. Breeders from all over the US advertise there.
I do not think Barringer has lost his mind, on the contrary he appears to be making a living, the majority of the vendors stay there and sell, and the forums do provide good info.
It is no secret that I prefer Fauna for many reasons. I hope that the classifieds here will grow and that this site will provide Rich with some financial rewards for all the thousands of hours he has put in here, but
it has been said before, and bears repeating: no choice need be made, the sites are different and each has its positive areas and attractions.
