Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Post #5 leads me to believe that his wife doesn't care. I truly doubt that she made him own up to his mistake to "do what's right." They did it because right now they are one of the biggest jokes in the reptile community and the only people buying from those are ones that haven't researched him or don't care about his past dealings.

I don't see what wanting a resolution has anything to do with this qualifying as a bad guy thread. When you starve animals, your a BAD GUY.

It seems simple to me, but instead some want to talk about what type of thread this should be:shrug01:

If I AM missing something, than I apologize and forget I even said anything. If the seller really starved these geckos like it appears, I think the "title" of the thread is not only NOT an issue, but I also think it is the title it deserves.

I've seen Randy's other BOI thread/threads(?) and it appears this guy is definitely bad news.

I also find it amusing that his wife was so upset about anything when she is the one who supposedly got Randy to send an owed payment in his other BOI. Maybe she is getting mad at Randy screwing up and it costing them money:rolleyes:

Cliff, I give you two :thumbsup::thumbsup: for helping out these poor geckos. I don't see why it would be too late to call animal control like others have suggested. You still have the animals, and it seems you should have some sort of proof that you got them from him.

The difference was, in my opinion, intent. If she simply wanted to vilify the guy for his animal-keeping habits, (he didn't sound as if he did this on a regular basis, he simply sounded like a pet owner...attempting to extend a hobby) it could have been done in an "INFO" thread, too.

You are actually correct...carry on.:shrug01:
 
While I completely empathize with your decision to "save" the animals, I can't say that I would have made the same decision. Either decision has negative effects. Walking away from the purchase could certainly mean the animals meeting an early demise. Unfortunately, buying them affords him the chance to acquire more animals that he can turn a profit on.

The only way that ~~I~~ see to stop this, is to not buy anything from him so that he's forced out of business.

Matt I definitely see where you are coming from but the problem I see with that is there is no way to guarantee no one else would buy from him. As a matter of fact, the chances of that happening IMO, are very slim. There are just to many consumers out there who are uninformed and or do not know or use the BOI. We have already seen that bad guy's keep managing to sell...somehow:shrug01:

While we could all say "we have to start somewhere", knowingly letting geckos die would not be the correct place to start IMO.

I will say again I think Cliff made a personal decision and since he has not (yet) said he is looking for any compensation, this bad guy thread seems more than warranted.

I also have a feeling Randy will not be stopping by to say anything here. Being that he SOLD these geckos, that really ruined his chances for any excuses.
 
Walking away, right into the local police department with those pictures and the dudes address so they could call Animal Control would have been the best thing to do. It also may not have ended in those animals death. I do hope they don't bring anything into your current collection. I do hope the make a fully recovery for you.

The only thing I can suggest is to call his local Animal Control or his local police department.
If you don't plan to do that, I'm afraid not much is going to happen = /
 
I am NOT discounting that you are helping those animals. I STILL say good for you. I'm simply saying it isn't something I would have done. In my mind those animals would belong in a care facility to recover...not in my collection to possibly make MY animals sick =(
 
I am completely disgusted by the condition of those geckos. They can go months without eating and only lose a small amount of weight. They either have crypto (should have them tested) or they didn't eat for a VERY long time. I don't understand how a human being can be so uncaring and let them get to that condition.

I personally wouldn't have purchased them either since it will just encourage him to sell more, but I do see why you took them in. Good luck and I hope they make it for you.
 
Back to the top. I know at least one of the geckos has passed away. We really need to get this guy out of the reptile community. Not only does he make us all look terrible by giving us another back eye, he is killing animals!!!

Makes me sick
