    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

OMG. I have breeding group of 1.3, I have one of those female's past cage mates on loan. Since I'll be breeding her with the same male as the other three I decided to reintroduce the two and the other two. I watched as they all greeted each other, and everything seemed fine, no aggressions, so I slid the bin closed. The phone rang and all of a sudden I hear this commotion, I swear I thought the rack was coming down. I figured it was the male, trying to breed. Much to my surprise it was the two past cagemates, in a very brutal fight. It took a minute to get them apart. I decided to place them back in and watch, thinking maybe just a little misunderstanding. NOT They went right at it again. I grabbed one just as she locked onto the other and she wouldn't let go. Damn, mad little girls. Before anyone asks, I'm 100% that they are not males. The one that I own is a proven breeder, and I watched the one on loan mate with my male once already. Considering these two were housed together before, my friend and I purchased them (they were adults when bought) I'm surprised at the aggression.

After inspecting the girls, the fight seemed more brutal than it was, no blood or minor non-bleeding cuts. No marks at all. The girl on loan has a few day old bite mark on her head for the male that's it.

Girl fights are the worst! At least you didn't see razors coming out and weave flying everywhere...this seems to happen when girls fight at my job. I'm glad you were able to get them separated and neither are the worse for wear. Maybe it is "just that time" for them...lol. :bolt01:

Well, the girl on loan just got a new name. I wanted to call her the big B :censored: H, but the owner has three kids, and she's really their pet, so he wasn't about to tell them to call her that. So we settled on Strega, which is Italian for Witch! I know this word very well, cause it's what my dad calls my mom still after being divorced for 30 years. LOL

you have no clue how funny i found that. old italians and bitter divorces. oh i know that one well
:rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

yeah but she said that they both mated with the male already. kinda rules that out. maybe just incompatible. some fish arent compatible. even if theyre both female ive seen cichlids fight to the death just because of incompatibility. fish are the best example of this but theres also animals with more intelligence such as dogs that dont like the same sex. for some unknown reason some animals jsut dont like each other

What I think is weird is that the two that were fighting were cagemates. Granted it's been 6 months since they've seen each other, but they were also 1+ years old when they were separated, not like they were hatchlings grew up and now seeing each other for the first time in 10years. Maybe they are mad at each other, thinking they abandoned each other...LOL

did u introduce them on new or neutral ground? I have not had problems when I have done this in the past, and I have to say im surprised at the aggression as well. Crazy girls! lol

I had a girl with the exact same problem. She was kept with another female for two years without any problem. But then she got bigger, and one day just lashed out and attacked the other girl. This was a few years ago and it was in a 15 gal tank so i thought it was an issue of space. So a year later i get a forty gal breeder tank. I was reluctant at first but i reintroduced said female with her former cagemate and another female i had acquired along with the breeding male. Same story she attacked both the females viscously, but left the male alone. Granted he is three or so inches longer than her and outweighs her by ten grams. So it was back to solitary for her.

I don't know what it is, it just happens.

I don't think it's they're size that did it, there's only a couple grams difference between them. I just think she's a Strega! LOL But she is a pretty Strega at that. She's a SHCTB. I really think they are sister too, their color in general is very similar, with the color in their tail being almost like a dark Tremper instead of black, but they are not albino.

It's a 32quart tub. At the time just introducing to see if they got along so there were no hides yet. Wanted to make sure all of them got to smell, taste and see each other. This all happened in a matter of minutes. If I didn't know better I would have said I witnessed two males fighting. I'm thinking that Strega just got used to being by herself and just wants to be left alone. But at the same time she didn't have a problem with the male at all.
